Hello, please see https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/40453/invalid-scale-reduction-specified-error-when-openi.html?

Best answer by fmelizard

PR 76123 has been filed. Another customer also experienced this problem and discovered a temporary solution:

1. Open /Library/FME/2017.0/Reproject/LocalCoordSysDefs.fme in any text editor

2. Find the definition for Calgary_3TM_WGS_1984_W114 (~Line 264)

3. Change the SCL_RED value from 0.999900 to 1

4. Save the file and try opening FME Desktop again
