I have a publication in FME Server that monitors a directory and sends a message to a topic when the contents of the directory change - for example, when a file gets updated. I am migrating ESRI shape file data to Smalword4.0 using FME. In migration process RWO objects migrated successfully. i am unable to migrate "Join Records"(Assets and Phases) and relation maintenance between tables. I need clear procedure to migrate join Records migration with relation maintenance.

So I am trying to read from a database and then take only the data I need and create and write to a file geodatabase. When I try the file geodatabase api writer all I have to select a .gdb file. Is it possible to just create it as well in FME so I can just tell FME to save to a certain folder where I want these GBD files at.

I'm having a simple script, which renames some exported attributes, then fetches the primary key sequence number using SQLExecutor and writes the result to an Oracle Database, but it seems that something gets done to the geometry during the process.I can inspect the translation result just fine, but when I attach the translation result to the Oracle Spatial Relational Writer, on translation every geometry gets inserted with an error (the column value is null): Bad geometry detected in the following feature; Geometry could not be encoded for Oracle.When I'm not using the SQLExecutor to fetch the primary key sequence, the script works just fine. Do I need to check something else to make FME leave the initiator geometry alone? Is this a bug?

When I use the KMLStyler and specify an icon image it invariably creates an "images" folder in the KMZ output. However, I want the folder name to be "files" which is what Google Earth uses. Is there a setting to force the writer to write a "files" folder? @jimo

How do I create an empty MS Access table in FME workbench without any records? If I use the creator, it will create one empty record but I need just an empty table.Thanks,

Hello,I'm having a problem running a workspace in my FME Server.When I run the workspace from my computer at the FME Client it works fine. But whe I try to run it from the server (another computer) I get an error file that it could not find my TNSNAMES file. Where does the server look for this file? Hello,  I am pretty new to FME and transforming an ESRI GDB to KMZ for visualization purposes. I have a point file with ~10 different categories and I am using a KMLStyler to set the point's icon conditionally, ie campgrounds get one icon, beaches get another.  I was wanting to use the icons/gme/ icons (example gme/gx_campground icon for campgrounds), but after my workbench runs I  have the message: "KML: Cannot find the referenced icon: `'. Setting the icon href anyways" The expected ouput icon in Google Earth is replaced with a small X. To me it sounds as if FME does not have the icons it thought it did, or is unable to set them for some unknown reason. Does anyone have anyadvice?  Thanks  

Hello I am brand new FME this week and am intrigued by it's non spatial data integration possibilities. I have a variety of csv files to process. I know explicitly how the header of each file is setup so would like to be able to test for certain conditions i.e. 1st two rows blank and (row 3 column 1 = 'Datetime') is Filetype A if successful this will go forward to relevant workspace runner for that filetype so I can do the required processing. Is it possible to test the structure of CSV before determining how to process it? Thanks and kind regards

Hi,  After the translation failed message, I come to know whether source data is not as per the writer i.e. 12kV in source (present as type text) but writer accepts only 12 since it is integer...   Is there a way to check this type errors before, such that I can disable the writer and run the check. I will switch ON the writers when the data is correct.  Pratap

Hello, I am trying to understand the relationship between the PDFPageFormatter and the PDFStyler. From the output of three "AttributeValueMapper" transformers, I have three text values that I would like to place on a PDF. I have verified their existence in the Inspector viewer. All three values are ready to place, yet I cannot seem to get them to render in the resulting PDF. I am using a standard Arial font, size = 16pt. The PDFPageFormatter has three named objects in the display, let's call them TEXT1, TEXT2 and TEXT3. I was under the impression that as long as you have named objects, the AttributeValueMapper would place the text strings in those locations, based upon the "Destination Attribute"? What am I missing?   OS: Windows 7, 64-bit FME Workbench: 2015.0 (Build 15253 - WIN64)

Usually I would use arcmap to displayXY (to draw the points from the lat/long fields) and then publish to AGOL, Can I do this in FME ?

My workspace consists of conversion of shapefile -->> CityGML. It works quite fine. Now I decided to include some more properties into my model in form of Energy ADE. I decided to use this: http://www.sig3d.org/citygml/2.0/energy/0.5.0/ . After I have included this into my workspace, nothing has happend. Perhaps the reason is, I am pretty new in using ADE. Can you somebody help me with this issue? How to use custom ADE in CityGML?   Thanks a lot in advance.

I am working on a (generic) FME Workbenchthat clips and exports data from ArcSDE database into the File Geodatabase (FGDB) format. The SDE features are clipped using an AOI, that arrives in the workbench in the form of an ESRI JSON parameter. The ESRIJSON string / AOI is converted into a FME geometry using a ‘GeometryReplacer’. I am using the KML writer to save output as KMZ by specifying Destination KML Dataset as "myoutput.kmz". This works, but I have an icon referenced in the KML output in the Icon->href tag as: images/D2.png  How can I add the images/D2.png folder and file to the output KMZ?  Thanks

So i have been going through tutorials and JSON documents on safe.com and I cannot figure out how to bring out the attributes I need from this for my workbench. I am getting this http call in json format and I want to get this down to working with these attributes  action, custom_1, height, class, MATL_TYPE , F_ID, POLETYPE, F_ROUTE, F_O, F_Y, EMINY, EMINX, DATABASE_NAME, DESIGNATION, objectType  I cannot figure out the procedure to be able to pull these attributes out and their values to work with in my workbench. How to add customer icons in FME KMLstyler?

I'm new to FME Desktop so this may be a basic usage question. We are using Photoshop to process GeoTIFF files. However, since Photoshop is not aware of the spatial metadata in GeoTIFF files, the files it creates are saved as regular TIF files with no georeferencing. Would it be possible to copy the spatial metadata from the original GeoTIFF and apply it to the TIF that Photoshop creates? Thanks -Mark

Hi FME community  Spatial objects in FME that include arcs consist of several segments, each belonging to an arc or a subsequent series of straight lines. When you use the transformer ArcStroker to get rid of the arcs, you still have these separate segements (whereby each of them belongs now to a series of straight lines).  When you write these objects (polygons in my case) into PostGIS, they are automatically stored as "CurvePolygon" which cause problems. It needs a lot of transformers to decompose (donut-)polygons into their individual buildings blocks and to rebuild them.  My question therefore is: Is there a transformer or parameter to set so that the required simplification of the object's data structure after removing arcs happens automatically? If not, it would be desirable that Safe Software introduces this Feature in future Versions of FME. I mean are there any reasons to keep the polylines separated by segments after the removal of arcs?  Greetings, Andre
