I am need to know the clear process for creating fme workbench for DXF file data.What are my possible solutions?Please find the attachments for clear idea about my question. hi,I want to import DXF data into Smallworld by using FME. I have bellow doubts in exporting. When i try to add reader in "Reader Gallery"i found 5 type of "*,dxf,.dwg" formats.First i try to select "Esri Mapping Specification for CAD(MSC)" data in DXF file not visible. After that i tried with "Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF" it displays layers from DXF source file but fields are not visible in work bench.I checked the dxf file in ESRI they have fields and values. But in FME those values are not populated in workbench for mapping."Layer,Color,Linetype,Elevation,LineWt,RefName,Angle" are the fields in layers. But these fields are not visible in FME workbench.Can any one tell me how to import DXF file data into Samllword by using FME.Please advise if I am missing something. Or how would I resolve this issue.   Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi,I have CityGML buildings (LOD2). The footprint needs to be replaced with a more accurate one. With replacing the footprint the walls need to be re-created. I need to keep existing roofs.Can anyone help me? Any suggestions/tipps how to achieve this?I'm not overly familiar with FME,Thank you, Robert

Hi there,    I'm definitely not new to FME, but I am new to this community, so hi there!  I have a question concerning CityGML.    I'm trying to convert data from an Oracle Spatial database to the CityGML format. I followed an example from FMEpedia which I modified for my own purposes. Now everything works quite well, as long as it is 'by the book'.  However, I need to write some extra attributes that are part of a custom Application Domain Extension (ADE).   I have a valid XSD that defines the extension attributes, but what should I do next?  How can I ensure that FME exposes the custom ADE attributes in the CityGML writer, so I can map my Oracle data to it?     I have been playing around with the writer settings (as described in http://docs.safe.com/fme/reader_writerPDF/citygml.pdf) but until now without any success.  I would be happy to hear from someone who can give me a hint in the right direction! :)

Hi, I am writing tags to Microstation V8 DGNs. I want to set the tag colour and font style, but when reading the below article it seems that those attributes cannot be set when writing to tags. http://docs.safe.com/fme/2016.0/html/FME_Desktop_D...Do I use a DGN styler instead?Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

HiI am writing to tags in Microstation v8 however, whenever I display the tags they are not showing up at the origin of the line. I think this is because the line is a complex chain rather than a line string within Microstation. Does anyone know how to ensure the tags are displayed at the origin of the complex chain?Thanks

Im having problems to list tables when using postgis reader, but if i list them with postgresql readers it fetches all tables from any of my schemas.The listing is inside schemas and there are both geometric tables and non geometric ones. It is able to fetch the existent schemas in database but not the the tables inside the schemas.In Qgis i can load and see all my tables.Any clues or ideas @paulatsafe

Hi guys,I transform a CSV file to excel inside an FME workbench to calculate some statistics. Everything goes smoothly, the only problem is that when writing to Excel, all numbers (decimal numbers mostly), are stored as text.Is this a known problem, or does somebody have an idea how to have numbers in excel that are stored as numbers?Thanks,Maxime

After that i got licence from safe. But i want to use it for my product.Can any one tell me how to configure this file in machine.Please advise if I am missing something. Hi,I have bigger guestion about working in fme with 3D geometry. I made buildings from pointcloud from certain city with different program. Everything went fine buildings look good and there is textures from aerial photos. But now I would need to make buildings file sizes smaller for game engine. There is most likely other programs to do this, but was thinking if I could make fme work with these files? What makes files so big is amount of polygons and ofcourse amount of textures on these every polygon.Goes maybe little hard way, but how I could make buildings smoother and still keep their textures?I know in sketchup there is own tool for this, so why it wouldn't be possible for fme? :)And yea.. There is about 1700 buildings to make smoother or just get their filesize smaller somehow. So Im trying to make fme work with all these buildings in one workbench.I have buildings in .skp and .dae formats for now.

I followed a suggestion from another post from 2013 which said to use only a period on the file extension type parameter. However when I do this the output file from the zip folder looks like this: `filename..`. If I set the extension type to nothing I get `filename.csv'. Is there a way to have it output just 'filename'? This is FME Server 2015.1

Hi All, I'm trying to load S57 data with FME but have a few questions:  - FME Insists that catalogs have the .030 extension. However all the Hydrographic offices we deal with provide a file called CATALOG.031 instead. Even renaming the extension FME refuses to read it. How do you read the catalog file? Apparently since S57 Edition 3.1 (dated 2000), it's always been .031.  - FME only seems willing to read the .000 file for datasets. This works fine. However we have other extensions as well (such as .001, .002 and upward). FME struggles read to read these and shows no geometry. As I understand it these are "updates" to the given chart. How does FME handle these?  (Using FME 2014 SP3).  Thanks.

Hi!I am reading OSM data in the .osm format and trying to write out selected key-value pairs based on the key name. The key value pairs are in two lists: tag().k and tag(),v. I would like to extract all the keys which equal "name" from tag().k and write the associated values from tag().v to a name attribute.I am having difficulty figuring out the best (or any) way to do this. I would like to accomplish this task just using the existing transformers if possible.Thank you!

I am trying to output a directory structure like so:/metadata.csv/version.txt  /Dir1/    /FileA.txtWhen I publish to the Server and run as a Data Download job, the file structure in the resulting .zip looks like this:/dataset/metadata.csv/version.txt  /Dir1/  /FileA.txtI have specified the $FME_SERVER_DEST_DIR=\I have set the metadata.csv writer folder to link to $FME_SERVER_DEST_DIRHow do I have to configure this so that metadata.csv writes to the top level directory without creating a subfolder for itself?

Hi FME'ler,I need some help with DWG and its blocks in 3D.InputDWG-file with a lot of blocks showing points, their name and their elevation as labels from attributes. Everything is in 3D. When reading this file into FME Inspector I can see the attributes having z-values.FME transformationIn FME I had to offset the blocks slightly in direction of xy. The elevation should remain. When inspecting the results before writing, I can see the z-values. Everything looks good.OutputWhen inspecting the output in FME Inspector (and AutoCAD) the block's points are at the correct position (with elevation), but their labels are on the ground (0). Does anyone know how the elevation of the attributes behave?! I already tried to set these values directly in FME, but the writer ignores(?) them.Thanks in advance!Maria

Hi,I'm struggling with DWG-Blocks...I have a DWG-file with a lot of points being in a block each of them (one point in one block), with some attributes. In FME I need to make an offset in direction of z. Then, I want to write it to a DWG-file again.Unfortunately the blocks don't get into the file. HI, I am using CSV Reader to migrate data into Smallworld. Actualy i have 11 types of CSV files names as 1. CSV point.csv.2.CSv Road.csv 3.CSV park.csv 4.CSV building.csv 5.CSV pole.csv......etc when i try to create CSV reader it displays "CSV"in CSV reader. As bellowActual name of the CSV file is "CSV pole.csv" but it displays only CSV. I want file name in that reader. How can i get that csv file name on CSV reader. I want to configure all the 11 csv files in single workbench. How can i configure all.Thanks in advance for your help.

So I wrote to a postgres database all the data and now I want to index it using a sql executor and have a timestamp on the index. I tried to use "CREATE INDEX ct_table_data@Value('current_timestamp') on ct_table(data)The big issue I have is it doesnt seem to time_stamp. I am useing the FME sql date function tool but no luck. Anyone have a good solution?

Hi all,Working with PostGIS, I noticed a strange behaviour concerning geometry type when duplicating reader to writer:postgis_point > postgis_multipointpostgis_multipolygon > postgis_multipolygonpostgis_multilinestring > postgis_multilinestringWhy the points are handled like that (point > multipoint)?
