Hi,

is it possible to create password protection on AutoCAD dwg files?

Thank you.

Could using a password protected template file work?

Just guessing, but worth a try.

It's a good idea. But there are problems with it:

1. We don't have AutoCAD software (except Viewer). We don't need it since we provide solutions (not final products) to our clients. That's why I cannot even test if this workaround works.

2. That would imply that user cannot define its own password, or he/she would need to change password to desired one inside template file first, than run required fmw file. It's a bit awkward, but doable.

3. Acording to autodesk (http://help.autodesk.com/view/ACD/2016/ENU/?guid=G...) the password protection feature has been removed in AutoCAD 2016 release. Instead they suggest purchasing other encryption products.

Bummer.

Anyway, thank you for your reply
