FME Server Express Installation - Would there be any issue setting up the System File Share on the D drive while keeping the destination folder as C:\\Program Files...?

On the VM there is a C drive with 80 GB on the C drive and 80 GB on the D drive. Wanting to ensure we don't run into any issues.

I have a workspace that needs to run when there is a new file in a SharePoint folder. Is it possible to set up an automation that would work similar to Network or Resource Directory?

Error reading specific table in ArcGIS Geodatabase

I use FME 2019.1.3.1 with ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.1 (also have Background Geoprocessing Tools installed) and I have encountered a problem when reading a specific table in an ArcGIS Geodatabase. The Geodatabase is stored in a MS SQL Server database. FME Server CPU (Dynamic Engines) ≈ FME Cloud?

As far as I understood from the documentation, the self-hosted FME Server (installed on my own server) can be also licensed by CPU (Dynamic Engines)?That means that I have a full control and security (especially in terms of data privacy, etc) of FME Server like self-hosted FME Server with standard engine(s), however in terms of license it acts similar to FME Cloud?So if both questions are correct then the difference between self-hosted FME Server licensed by standard engine(s) and self-hosted FME Server licensed by CPU (dynamic engines) in regards to license is that the client pays for an extra standard engine only once, but for CPU Usage as long it in hours takes - continuous payment?

Web connection working in HTTP caller, inside a loop on FME Server - only for one day

Hello, I was using a HTTP caller with a web connection fine on FME Desktop and Server - This was running fine on a daily schedule. I then realized that the HTTP caller needed to run in a loop so I got it working on both Desktop and server fine. The issue is, the workbench will only work for one day on the server, and then it returns a '401 Unauthorized' the next day. I find that if I re-publish the web connection, the workbench runs fine......until the next day. Does anyone know if this is a glitch or if there is some work around? The workbench was previously running fine until I added the loop and there hasn't been any changes to web connection each time I publish Any help is welcome! Many thanks, Sam

Extract ground points along a polyline from LAZ files

I have a lot of LAZ files and generate a couple of polylines in ArcGIS. for these polylines I need to extract the points classified as 'ground' from the LAZ files.What transformer allows me to do that, and how to deal with polylines intersecting with several LAZ files?

FME Server Upgrade from 2021 to 2022 on Docker Environment

We have FME Server hosted on a docker environment. We are using AWS, for database we are using RDS postgres, and for storage, we are using EFS. On one server we are running all core components using docker-compose. and we have lambda-based engine deployment using separate EC2 servers. Of course, both core and engine are using postgres RDS and EFS. What would the upgrade process look like? Our goal is to upgrade without losing any repository, server configuration, job logs, automation, schedules, etc.

How to uninstall the FME Server 2021?

I tried to uninstall using the FME Server installer (EXE) file, the status stay at "removing files" for long time without progression. I tried to uninstall the server from Windows control panel, the process hangs as well. I need to reinstall the server from C:\\ to D:\\ drive, the repair does not allow me to do that. Please advise how I can remove the Server 2021 from Window 2019 server platfor. ThanksHelen

Internal web site does not have certificate. how to bypass the step to upload Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER) and local PFX cert directly?

Hi,My organisation provided me a CA signed PFX certificate.I have followed the step-by-step guide to update server.xml, web.xml and content.xml, etc.I am able to restart the FME server service.However, when I use https://locahost/ or https://<server name>/fmeserver/I contantly get the message "This is site can't provide a secure connection", and ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR.click the (i) at the URL address bar shows NO certificate.I checked the other internal site, it states "This site does not have certificate."I couldn't complete the export and import Base-64 encoded X.509 cer file.How can I move forward from here to complete the HTTPS enabling?ThanksHelen

How to transform wide table with multi level nested columns and multi-rows into a longer format?

I have attached an excel spreedsheet. I would like to merge and convert the table in sheet 1 ("Year_2035') and sheet 2 ('Year_2050') into a table structure like that one in 'RequiredFormat' sheet. I have never transformed such a complex data structure in FME before. Can anyone kindly help with good suggestions?

resolve attribute references in comments in XMLTemplater

I'm trying to create an xml document where part of the information in the comment is coming from an attribute. However in the XMLTemplater everything within a comment is output untouched, including {fme:get-attribute("_comment")}. Thoughts on how to work around this?Attached is a sample workspace demonstrating the issue. Build 2022.0 If I create an attribute in advance:  and use {fme:get-attribute("_comment")},then the braces are replaced with &ly; and &gt;.If I use {fme:get-xml-attribute("_comment")},there are some xml parsing warnings:XMLTemplater (XMLTemplaterFactory): The following error occurred near line 1, column 51 of the query:XMLTemplater (XMLTemplaterFactory): invalid content passed to fn:parse-xml(): loader parsing error: Extra content at the end of the documentand the resultant xml does not contain the comment at all.

OAuth2 web service - grant_type

Hi Folks, I'm setting up a HTML web connection to an API using OAuth2, and one of the parameters that I must specify is grant_type=client_credentials. However, in the 'Retrieve Token Parameters' dialog in the preview window, I see that grant_type=authorization_code. Is there any way to change this? If I enter it in the URL section, will it overwrite (even if it doesn't show the change in the preview)? Thanks!Tyson

Hi, Does anyone know if there is also an issue for writing textures to geometry for OBJ and FBX format writer in FME v2022.2? It seems the same issue for Sketchup writer has been fixed. During test the issue for OBJ and FBX format seem to be present.

How can I extract the attributes from gdb file

Hello Sir / Madam, I have a gdb file that have several layers. I am just wondering how can I extract all attributes from the layers? I tried "Schema" reader and list exploder to explode the data. However, I only able to get one table attributes. May I ask how can I extract all attributes from all layers? I have attached a sample data in here. Hope someone can give me a hand. Thank you! How to I extract information from XML fle

Hello Sir/ Madam, So I have a CityGML file, which is based on XML. In each of the 3D model, I would like to extract the attribute name and values. Basically, what I want is that those with gen:string attribute name and bldg are the values where I would like to retreive. all_matches{}.startIndex of StringSearcher seems to skip Carriage Return

Hi, Yesterday I came across the situation where I wanted to split a text file into several portions. For 'new lines', the file contained both single Line Feeds (i.e. LF or \\n) as Carriage Return - Line Feed (i.e. CRLF or \\r\\n) combinations. Thus both the Unix End Of Line (EOL) methodology and the Windows EOL methodology were present. I used the StringSearcher to match relevant parts of the text file, and then wanted to use (concurrent) all_matches{}.startIndex to fetch the relevant portions of the file. However, I found out that when I then use the found startIndex in e.g. the SubstringExtractor, it doesn't doesn't return the same (starting) characters as found in the match. Digging a bit deeper, it seems that the StringSearcher all_matches{}.startIndex seems to skip counting CR (\\r). I'm guessing it identifies CRLF (\\r\\n) as an individual character c.q. index? How to directly edit the parameters of the attribute manager (again)

Hi,since my last update of the workbench (2022.2.0.0 (20221103 - Build 22765 - WIN64)) the parameter editor of the attribute manager wont allow me anymore to edit directly in the pane next to my main window. I have to open a unneccessary pop-up window to continue editing. Other transformers (like the feature joiner) do not show this behavior (see screenshot). Any ideas how to enable direct editing again?All the best,Merlin

Hello...I've created a HTML report using HTMLReportGenerator/HTML Writer and am trying to write this report to a pdf but have not been successful. I've tried connecting both a pdf FeatureWriter and a PDF Writer to the HTMLReportGenerator output and do get a pdf file created but it's blank. Thanks.

Is there a way to schedule a workspace to run one or more markets on FME Server?

Hello! I am trying to schedule a workspace to run 17 markets. Workspace is the same for all 17 markets. After the first market ends, I want it to start the second one. I know workspace runner on FME desktop that kicks off markets one by one.The scheduling of the two markets on the FME server worked well for me. Due to the fact that I have 17 markets to run, I was wondering if there was a better way to do this. I would appreciate any advice you can provide.

TableAdder creating a blank PDF

Hi there,I have an excel file with approximately 4500 rows of data, which I am converting to HTML. I can write perfectly, but I also want to write a PDF from this information. Reading through previous questions I can see you can't write straight from the HTML Report Generator, so I have added a Table Adder transformer before this, but it creates a completely blank PDF. I have used a combination of PDFStyler and PDFPageFormatter but still keep getting blank PDFs. Any suggestions?Thanks, Katie

Shapefile Writer: The keyword DIMENSION has an incorrect value: 'char(254)'. The value must be one of: AUTO, 2D, 2DM, 3DM

i have dragged and dropped a LL27 shapefile on to Fme workbench 2020.2. Then I add a writer. Set the output dimension as 2D and coord system as TX-S. Running this is giving the error as above. The same workflow runs without errors in FME workbench 2017.1 In fact I do not have to set any dimension in 2017.1 The simple coordinate conversion from LL27 to TX-S runs normally.Wondering what I need to tweak out here in 2020.2 to get the same result
