I have geometric data that I want to join with non-geometric data. From what I read and noticed, a FeatureJoiner won't keep the geometry during a join. I would use a FeatureMerger, but the cardinality of my features won't make it work. I tried aggregating one of my feature to make it possible for me to use the FeatureMerger, but the aggregations are not supported by ArcGisOnline (that's where I want to write). I ran out of ideas to solve this problem, do you have any solutions? Thank you

Hello, I have this object (brepsolid). The goal is to create geometry based on its volume. I want this to look like a solid mass based on the boundaries of the cylinder. I have tried SolidBuilder but it just converts the geometry to brepsolid. Is it because I should be using enclosed spaces? I would really appreciate any ideas on handling this. Kind regards, George Floros

Hi, I've a got point layer in shp format and a pointcloud file in las format and I'd like to find the nearest point in the las file for every point in shp file. I tried to use PointCloudCoercer to change las file into mutipoint, but z value of points won't be merged. Then I tried to change las file into individual points, but it was too slow, I got thousands of las files and each of them contains over 1 million points.Can anyone provide a right and fast solution to this matter? Within an automation I want to trigger a workspace with a previous result. In this case, as shown in the picture, I only want to process a submitted file if the validation is valid. Most desirable is that I can set a certain parameter within the createValidationStatus workspace and be able to filter on that in the automation filter.Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to do it this way. I did find a work around by adding a terminator to the workspace when a submission isn't valid. This wil result in an "action failed". But still this isn't desirable because submitter and administrator messages got mixed up. Failure doesn't necessarily mean workspace failure. Question: What is the best way to pass results from an upstream workspace within an automation?

Hi All,We have a plan to upgrade FME server from 2016 to 2019. Do I need to also upgrade workbench from 216 to 2019? or this is only optional, and If I don't upgrade the workbench will there be any issues related to compatibility of versions between workbench and FME server?There are more than 75+ workbenches and it will require 1000 of Transformer/reader/writer to be upgraded and tested. What is the best practice in above case?Please share your thoughts , suggestion and experience. ThanksZubair

Hello all,Another newby question, sorry :)I have a table in PostgreSQL which is called ExaminationNumber and has a single column call ExamID.The ExamID field stores a current count of the examinations processed and is increased by one each time.I am have a reader that reads from the table and grabs the current ExamID value. I then want to update the value by one using the SQLExecutor but can't get it to work.  Can anyone let me the correct syntax or if there is a better way to go about this?  

I am a post graduate student working on 3D modelling using FME Desktop. I would like to know if FME Server is available free for the student community.

I am using the oracle nonspatial writer in FME Desktop 2015 and I am trying to write to an Oracle table to update 2 fields. I do not see an error when the process finishes but I noticed that the changes are not reflecting in the table. I don't see any options to commit changes. How can I ensure that the changes are being committed? Do you know what would cause the changes to not be committed? Thanks for your help. 

I am using an attribute creator to inject metadata into a workflow and i would like to provide pick lists to simplify data entry.

Is there a way to make your workbench settings independently from workspace to worskpace ? It looks like settings are 'user based' and not 'workspace instance based' ... When you set for example Python3 or enable Feature Caching in one workscpace than all open workspaces on same machine will inherit the same settings. Is this true ? or im missing something ... A customer is planning to deploy FME Desktop 2018.1 to a VM hosted on IBM Cloud (formerly SoftLayer). This is not a shared-tenant VM but it could conceivably be moved to different hardware from time to time. The VM will be running Windows Server 2016.Will a stand-alone license for FME Desktop work correctly in this context?

Hi everyone, I'm creating a workbench for myself and others in my team to use to translate XMLs to a geodatabase. In this model I'm adding additional fields (than in the XML) to match our GIS SDE schema. I've imported the fields from SDE in Attribute Manager and mostly mapped their values from the XML. However for two of the fields, I want the user to enter a published parameter before running the script as these values are not contained in the XML. One of these fields has a domain set up in GIS. I would like the user to get the drop down from the SDE domain when entering the parameter. Eg in the image below I want whoever runs the script to get a list of companies from our SDE domain rather than manually typing in the company name.EGDoes anyone know if this is possible. Hello FME Gurus, I have a list which contains a known sequence of values that represent different things but are linked.I have created a list and I am then searching in the list for a specific word, in this case 'PM'The ID for the PM is located two spots in the list before the word PM.I am trying to extract the ID from the list dynamically but can't seem to get the syntax correct in Attribute Manager. @Value(_surveytable{@Evaluate(@sub((_list_index),2))}.autocad_text_string) Can anyone help is getting the index value syntax correct so I get the value that is located in the index minus 2?ThanksDean 

I have a list of features like the followingABCDEFGH But want to get it in a table likeA B C DE F G HThe values of A and E are a known format so want to be able to find A and add B C and D to the table row and do the same for E, adding F G and H and so on.I have tried the following using LIstBuilder, List Exploder, Tester and Attribute Manager but can't figure out how to get the results into the attribute manager.

(Continuing):SDE_ERROR_CODE(-20) Layer not found(Table: 'TAMISADMIN.T_TRANSMISSIONSTRUCTURE' may be in use.)  I have two pipelines off a Feature Merger, and I'm testing just one (I have the connection disabled for the other one.).  I'm reading from ESRI using the SDE30 reader and writing to an SDE30 table, T_TRANSMISSIONSTRUCTURE.  and i'm updating the data in table, so my writer mode = UPDATE.  I have a 2nd writer to the same database with the same T_TRANSMISSIONSTRUCURE feature class.  on this writer/feature class i'm inserting records.  Could the error be related to the existance of the same feature class being accessed in this translation?  Sarah

I have a point asset details and Polygon features with address details in two Feature classes. I want to find the points falling under polygon features along with the asset id of point falling under address details of polygon feature. Basically to get the details of asset along with its location. Pls suggest.

Hello. I have to correct the road network geometry by shifting road polyline it to the point(that I created using FME to fix the road) beside it.Below, the dark line is the existing line and to the left is the existing point at a certain distance. Now, I need to shift the full line geometry as it is overlapping the point and maintaining the same distance overall. The dashed line is the required line to be the output.I tried Neighbourfinder to find the distance and stuck there. AnchoredSnapper(segment snapper) should work, but not purely working. Any ideas about how do I take it ahead.Thanks!

I have a list of multilinestring values (WKT) that I want to convert to geometry and I am able to convert successfully using the "GeometryReplacer" transformer.
