we have 12 tables with about 400,000 records so i want to know if I can create 4 new fields; Lat, Long, and both Spatial SQL fields from the current UTM zone 13 Nad83 data.New user, so the help posts I have ready don't directly answer this question and I am still trying to learn how to create the new fields.Can I do this in one project, or does this become a multi project for each table?If not to much to ask, can you give me the functions in order for this? I can supply data if that will help also.

Has anyone come across an email address validator using FME?I want to use an API, ideally, to check email addresses for my contacts are valid. Any assistance or workspaces would be appreciated. Thanks

We have a ESRI FGDB file available with .z02 file extension. Is it possible to read FGDB data on FME without ARCGIS ? Can we upload FGDB file to Oracle spatial database through FME ? Any pointer on this would be appreciated

I cannot import a file geodatabase into FME 2014.  I am using ArcGIS 10.1.  I checked with the data provider and they are on the same version.  Also the file geotabase does open in ArcGIS but not FME.  Anyone know why this may be.

I want to create a repository in FME Server 2015 where anyone can run the workspaces.

Can anyone show me how I can calculate the number of unique values within the list of each record using Python?For example, what is the count of "Primary" or "Repair"?I know that I can do this easily by exploding the list and go from there. But since I have over 1mil lists, I think the best way to do it is to take advantage of Python to improve performance. Thanks in advance!

Hi all,Does anyone know of an easy method to create a polygon around part of a LiDAR tile where the LiDAR tile does not have a complete set of values or is not complete?So in the example below I would like to create a polygon around the colored sections (crudely drawn in red), not the whole tile.I have tried the RasterExtentsCoercer, but that just creates a polygon over the whole tile.Thanks all.

Hello,I have two polygon layers:Layer 1 contains approx 2500 polygons some of which overlap with each other.Layer 2 contains approx 150,000 polygons which have been clipped so that all features are inside at least one Layer 1 polygon.I would like to intersect the Layer 2 features so that they are given the attributes (essentially a polygon ID) of the Layer 1 polygon that they fall within, and if a polygon falls within a Layer 1 overlap then two new polygons are created, one for each Layer 1 polygon it fell within.I thought that AreaOnAreaOverlayer would achieve this but when two Layer 1 polygons overlap it only outputs a single Layer 2 polygon (I don't know how it decides which attribute to give it). Perhaps Intersector would be a more appropriate Transformer to use (and it is the equivalent tool that I would use in ArcMap). I don't know. Although I'm getting an error when trying that Transformer which would need to be addressed outside the focus of this question.Both layer

I have a list which I exploded using the listExploder. The output contains an attribute _element_index. I want to create an attribute with a name composed of the value of _element_index concatenated with another string. When I try to write the name of this new attribute in an AttributeCreator, it seems like the @Value(_element_index) doesn't work as no new attribute is created (the new attribute name doesn't appear as an option in the AttributeExposer).

Hello,I've attempted to connect to a few different APIs via an HTTPCaller using GET, in order to lookup UK postcodes based on a list of X & Y coordinates from a CSV file. The URLs being run through the workspace are all valid (I've clicked on them via the translation log, and they appear in internet explorer), but regardless of which API I try to connect to, I always get a 'Couldn't resolve host name' error returned. The APIs I'm connecting to require no authentication, so I that's not the issue. Is it possible the issue relate to restrictions with my corporate network?

My ultimate goal is to remove as many vertices along the polylines while maintaining the shape of the line. My data is coming from a GDB and consists of complex line segments containing straight lines and curves (i.e. one line can have a curve and a straight segment). I've used the generalizer transformer to remove as excess vertices but it is not working well around the curved line segments. I want to turn these curved segments into true arcs to remove all the excess vertices. Please see my workflow below:The output from this workflow is not working, see below:  Based on the pre and post coordinate count, vertices are not being removed. I have added my template with the workflow and test data. Any help would be appreciated @nathanatsafe

Hi, I have a workspace which looks at all files in a location (using a "Directory and File Pathnames" reader), picks the file that I want (using a tester), reads the attributes with a feature reader and writes it to a database. This works fine when I run this workbench in desktop. When I publish the workspace to FME server it requires the user to fill in the Source Dataset. This workbench is triggered by another one, so it fails at this step. Is there a way to use an attribute as the default source dataset on FME Server?Thanks in advance 

Howdy,Are there known errors/solutions related to the FileNamePartExtractor transformer's handling of 'DateTimeFormat' functions in a file name? I am experiencing this issue in both FME 2018.1.1.2 & FME 2019.0I have a workspace that reads in information from FME Server on scheduled jobs (http://fme:8080/fmerest/v3/schedules?limit=1000&offset=0) and writes details about each scheduled Job and its destination tables to an Excel workbook.I believe this workspace was working fine a few months back, however now I am encountering an error with a FileNamePartExtractor transformer's "Full File Name Attribute" parameter. The error is triggered where a Job has a parameter for the destination file name that includes @DateTimeFormat or @DateTimeNow . For example processing a destination file name like this triggers an error:\RC Metrics_DailyUpdate_@DateTimeFormat(@DateTimeNow(),%Y%m%d).xlsxThe error message received is below:2019-06-18 12:11:24|   0.7|  0.1|ERROR |FilenamePartExtractor_2 (

I have a number of ESRI shape files that need Sqlising. Each shape file goes into a SQL Server Database table as a single row. How do I achieve this in one workflow? Doing these one by one is not practical as there are hundreds of shape files and I can easily make a mistake plus not repeatable.

  I have an AttributeFilter that creates multiple Esri shapfiles (filter by an attribute value) that use one esri shapefile writer to write out each shapefile. Is there a way to compress (zip) each of these shapefiles individually? I know there a shapefile compression option to create a .shz, but a .zip file is required.

I would like to transfer the fmesuperuser role privileges to an Active Directory role.In the FME Server documentation, there is an article about how to do this using the SECURITY_SUPERUSER_ROLE parameter in the fmeCommonConfig.txt configuration file. Unfortunately, this does not seem to work. The parameter line mentioned (SECURITY_SUPERUSER_ROLE=fmesuperuser) is not present in the configuration file. Also just adding the line as a parameter does not seem to work.The answer in the article already present in the knowledge base is not sufficient, because this only concerns assigning an Active Directory user to the role.I ruled out errors in the Active Directory distinguished name by testing with a test FME Server role (non-AD) and using this in the configuration file (e.g. SECURITY_SUPERUSER_ROLE=testsuperuser).How can I accomplish transfer of privileges on the AD role?

Hi Guys,i know maybe this was asked before and i searched the forum for this but i was not really successful in finding....if there is the same question please llink it:After my last post i have now set up a workbench which brings me following result: i have now 744 lines with same length of 1600m e.g with always a 50m shift first line begins 0 to 1600next from 50 to 1650next from 100 to 1700 and so onin an attribute i have stored a class number (1,2 or 3)so line 1 to line 16 class1then from 17 to 21 class222 to 51 class 1 and so onbut i have of course duplicate geometry always (with this shift)so i want long segments (and no duplicate geometry any more) where the class is the same BUT: on duplicate geometry parts i want to keep the line with the higher classi have part where i have class 2 and class 3 e.g.so i want the delete the geometry parts with 2 there and keep one with 3...hope i was clearly with my description otherwise ask meGreetz and ThanxFranco 

Hello!  I have a problem with creation a path between points, which are saved in JSON file. I tried a extract JSON file with using a JSONExtractor, and when I got coordinates of my points - but not in the form of a list.Next to this, I use a StringReplacer Transformer to get a list of coordinates. And the result looks like this:But when I try a read it to Path or LineBuilder, I don't have any result.Below, I uploaded a part of my Workbench, where I try to build a path. If anyone knows the solution of my problem, I will be grateful for any help or tips.Greetings,Karolina

Hi, the question ArcPy "import" statement tries to perform import action?https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/37659/arcpy-import-statement-tries-to-perform-import-act.html was raised in 2016 and doesn't appear to have a satisfactory answer.I have been experiencing the issue this week - adding import arcpy to the top of a PythonCaller. When the Workspace hits the python it hangs for 10 seconds then spits out thousands of lines (red, black and blue) around Autodesk 3DS before going on to successfully complete.While it is great that my Workspace runs successfully, it takes a couple of minutes when it should be just a few seconds.I am on FME Desktop 2018.1.1.0, ArcGIS 10.2 (Server is 10.0), running Python (ArcPy) 2.7. Environment variables are set and FME is looking at the right location in Options.Cheers,Mark

Hi All, we are trying to export data from Smallworld to Mapinfo Tab format. In Smallwrold we have objects like Underground Route and Cables, which are having length fields with values available in millimeters, but these values are getting exported as meters to Mapinfo tab, how to keep the values as it is while exporting.
