HiI am trying to filter a dataset to show a features that are in set of values . I am using the Tester transformer with the IN operator. If I were to do this in an ESRI product, I could select the field (attribute) I want to filter and it would list all the unique values for that field to enable me to chose the ones I require. However, I cant see a way to get that info in FME - I have to stick in another transformer and inspector and then copy and paste the values I want into the expression, which is far from an ideal workflow.Please could someone tell me if there is an easier way to do what I want to do? Hi,  I see FME has an OSM XML data Reader. I wonder if its possible to have this reader/converter on the fly using transformers. I use the HTTPCaller to extract data via the Overpass API and I would like to convert the output XML into features, but that's not easy as I first tought because of the way OSM data is structured.  Is there a way to convert the xml data returned by the HTTPCaller into FME features without saving the XML on disk and then using the OSM Data Reader?  Thank you!  Maxime Demers

Hi,  I have a geodatabase with multiple feature  classes.  The FCs do not all have identical fields.  I want to write a test that removes attributes fields that are empty.  I can't find a way to do this, i.e. select all attribute fields.  The BulkAttributeRemover seems like the best bet, but not sure how to code the expression.  Also, tried the custom transformer NullAttributeRemover, but the script expects the user to select which attributes to utilise (not a Python user).  Any suggestions appreciated!  Thanks.

I have a very simple workspace with just an AttributeCreator transformer, which adds a new attribute called 'MyNewAttr' to my input dataset. But rather than having the attribute name 'MyNewAttr' defined in the transformer, I'd like to do it by Published Parameter.In the AttributeCreator Parameter window, when I try to create a new user parameter from this new attribute, I get the prompt to create a new user parameter. But once I click OK, it does not actually create the user parameter, and my transformer parameter is showing red.The same happens when I use AttributeRenamer or AttributeManager. I simply don't seem to be able to set a attribute name using a user parameter. What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? Is there another way of setting an attribute name using a user parameter?The main reason for asking this question is because I am discovering the power of Custom Transformers, but every time I am struggling with this issue.(I am using FME Desktop v2016.1

Hi all,  I have to classify polygons without attribute values, according to neighbouring attribute values. However, this has to be based on the neighbour with the largest shared boundary . A comparisation of shared lengths is necessary when the polygon shares boundaries with two others for example.   I have used a geometrycoercer to first make a line of both sets. Then a lineonline overlayer, since I don't think the common segment finder will help me. However, I cannot get to calculate the percentages of different shared boundary so im looking for suggestions.  I hope I made myself clear. Thank you in advance!

Hello, I am using FME Workbench 2019.2, ESRI Reprojector does not support the custom geographic parameters of ArcMap 10.7. I used the 2018 version to see the geographic parameters. Why ca n’t I recognize them after updating?

I am parsing an XML and writing the header-content into a table. When inserted to database the inserted row (always 1 row) will be assigned a primary key. The same XML contains a number elements that are written to a separate table in the same database. The two tables are connected by former database-assigned key.How do I add the database-assigned key to the features before writing to the second table? Can I handle it in FME? I tried using a SQLexecutor, but performing a call to get the key seems like a bad idea.Do I have to go to T-SQL and write to both tables in a single SQLexecutor?

I want to create a published parameter that will give users the option of choosing multiple options from a dropdown/tree list, depending on the category. I could use 'Choice with Alias (Multiple)' and then an AttributeValueMapper, but I'd rather not as the 'Choice (Multiple)' has the ability to 'Use Tree'

  Nathan@safe  I have created the Stop Sign Writer and the Height Restriction Writer and the RR Crossing Writer and then when I go to Insert the writer in the Workbench it requires a layer name that it already assigns or puts in there (we are free to change this to whatever we want as per FME Software Help)  Everything runs beautifully ......right up to the very last instance of Global Variables Final State Summary    When it runs …….it fails at the Writer because it cannot find that layer (I have used every conceivable Layer Name on this earth and it fails no matter what is used)  ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: Could not find a layer/table matching feature type 'Stop'   I am INSERTING and TRUNCATING on the writer to overwrite all and replace the FS with what I am writing out from the FME process    No matter what I do it fails at the Layer Name    Can you help me understand why it is failing there as I have searched everywhere in FME for this answer to a simple fail po

Hello I've been trying to work with some COVID data from my state in Brazil.Every day the state health department releases a CSV with the data like this where we have a feature for every city and every day with the number from covid( deaths, confirmed cases and recovery cases)I want to create 3 shape file for each situation where the first collum is the city name and all other collumns are the dates, just like these: I was able to do it with AttributeCreator and Exposer but as time goes bye the health department updates the begining of the dates from the CSV( in this example the least date is 23 feb, but now the first day is 04 jan).I know i can use the exposer with all the days of the year but i was trying to create only the necessary collumns of date.I saw this post (https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/21304/get-the-attributes-names-with-python.html) but how can i use this to create the correct "schema" for my shapefiles?? 

I have a workspace that has 6 published parameters,When I publish this workspace to FME Server the DestDataset_ACAD parameter is missing The parameter is available when I publish a webhook and the webhook runs successfully but the file return from FME Server is named like this.When I change the file extension this file opens in AutoCAD.  I have tried to create a parameter and then link to the writer this also goes missing when I publish to FME Server. Is there a setting I am not seeing somewhere? I am using REAL_DWG writer.

I've been having some issues with Creating and reading AutoCAD 3D Solid geometries. Through my investigation I have found that the REALDWG writer/reader supports solids the best (ACAD will just read as multi-surface in most cases), however, when it comes to colours/appearances FME is falling short. While I can create a single solid feature with once color (using the default layer color), I am unable to color the surfaces individually which is pretty well supported by a lot of other formats in FME.  In addition DWG files which contain solids which have different color surfaces are just read in with all surfaces coloured as the layer color.  Has anyone had any luck either creating OR reading solids from AutoCAD witch have different colored surfaces?  Here's an example which creates a multi-colored solid box:   @daveatsafe or @andreaatsafe perhaps there are some PR's relating to these issues already?
