I want to create an automation in FME Server for a user to validate his data.He sends in an email with his data as attachement and the topic of the validation as part of the email subject.In the workbench, the email subject is parsed and the topic is kept as an attribute. At the end a logfile is written with the name: topic.log (I do this with a fanout in the writer).This logfile I want to send back to the sender of the email as an attachement. But to attach the file to the email, I have to fill in its path and I don't know the filename at this point. How can I pass the value of "topic" (=filename) as parameter to the Automation, so that I could use it in the "Email Details"?(I'm using FME Server 2019.0)Thanks, Vera

My issue is that I want to bend all lines around a polygon if the line is intersecting it. I understand that there is a huge amount of kombinations of how Buildings and lines can be scattered so my question is reduced to a more generelized question. "How to bend a line around a area object" In my workspace I am sharing fictive objekts and explanation what seletions to be bend. I have also, in red, marked out a costum tranformer that should be replaced with Another method. So dont bother dig Deep into that one. I am also sharing a fictive example of a result to visualize approximately what I want to accomplish.    

Hello everyone.I have a question for my DTM imageries. Resolution of imageries are 0.15m for red bordered area and 0,70 m. for green bordered area. I want to create a merged (mosaicked) and interpolated raster with a resolution of 0,50 m.. By the way; intersection of the two areas must come from the high resoluiton. I'm looking for a method to "explode" single features into multiple features based on the numeric value in a given attribute field. Here is an example of what I'm working with and where I'm trying to get to, keeping in mind that there is point data attached to each record here...AnimalNumber_SeenOwl1Deer2Raccoon3 I'm looking to "explode" the features so that there is one point feature for each individual animal...AnimalNumber_SeenOwl1Deer1Deer1Raccoon1Raccoon1Raccoon1 It's worth noting that there are many features on the map for any given animal type, but the observations have been aggregated by the number of animals seen in the group at the time. An animal sighting with a "Number_Seen" = 1 does not need to be "exploded". Does anyone know a good FME workflow to do such a thing? Hi,I have spent most of the morning going down a rabbit hole and really am none the wiser. I am writing out some content to a feature class in SDE. When I run the full process with feature caching on or off I get a failure to write with a very unhelpful ESRI error: An error occurred while attempting to insert a row into the table 'DBO.xxxx' using a cursor. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147418113'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {}However if I run it with feature caching on, up to the last transformer and then run to the writer afterwards the content goes into the SDE, no error.If I write to a ffs file then push that to sde. It works. My suspicion is that I am using a feature reader, it seems like SDE doesnt recieve all the right info about the schema before FME tries to write to it, whereas it does when feature caching is enabled?Any ideas very much appreciated.ThanksOliver

Hello,I'm currently working on a road network of ~3000 miles and some roads can go for 100 miles+ I'm looking to assign a value if the roadname is the same and the accumulative distance is 15 miles at most. So 1 road for example can be shown by 6 segments 0-33-1010-1414-2020-2828-35In the scenario above I would like 0-14 in 1 group as it is below 15 miles, then 14-28 in the second group and 28-35 in the next group. Currently a part of the workbench that works on assigning this is:However the issue I'm coming across is after 15 since the accumulative number is beyond 15 but the sum of 2 segments may still be below 15 miles. I'm not sure how to reset it as a reset would assign the whole road the same value. I'm a little stuck here and could really use some help

When I use a HTTPCaller to PUT anything fme_binary, the hexadecimal representation as visible in the data inspector is included in the request body, instead of the actual raw bytes. This results in a bunch of unreadable files on the other end. If I do the put request using the same attribute with a PythonCaller as below everything works fine. I have a SDE table in Postgres that was created from data in a Hosted feature layer and MS Access table. Since it was created new records have been added to the the MS Access table. I am looking for the best way to update the SDE table with only the new records from the MS Access table.

I am working with crime data and need to change some fields to full names, M/F to Male/Female. Is the stringreplacer a good candidate for this? I have been using the FeatureMerger and definition tables in .csv format. Just seeing if there is a better way to do this. Thanks!!

I need help with FME Data Streaming Service. I am having trouble serving up a pdf file in a browser. I am using the DataFile writer to write my pdf because my pdf comes in binary form. It all works in workbench, but when I try it in FME Server as a Data Stream it downloads the pdf with the workbench name and a .fmw as the extension. If I change the extension to .pdf my pdf is there and I can open this. I would think that FME should serve up the pdf with the file name I specified in the writer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello guys,I have a files in a Esri geodatabase with the county of New York and an other files with "the constraint" its an huge group off small polygon (8 millions) who represent a mix between the slope + forest +swamp, what ever.  I would like to clip the county by the constraint and get the outside flow, it will form at the end the polygon of the county with some holes where was the constraints. So i use the clipper with this two files i think as many of you know it take long time and at the end fme say that i didn't have enough place (i had 20 gb free).  After that i try to create different workbench with 1 million feature to run in each workspace (workspace 1 = 0 to 1 million , workspace 2 = 1 to 2 million, workspace 3 = 2 to 3 million, etc), but im not sur its work to so.  So well my question is for you what is the best way ?

I am working with many autocad files and trying to extract data from paper space objects. The objects i am trying to extract are mtext object (of type autocad_multi_text) I am trying to match up objects that start with a specific string to objects just below them. to do this i want to use the autocad alignment_x and ycoordinates. I have enabled the feature type format attributesneeded and do see many of the attributes populated in the visual preview.but not the ones i need. I can get the coordinates using a coordinate extractor but those are the lower left and will not help me select the adjacent below text that i need. 

Hello - I have a dataset of polygons (some of which are donut polygons). Some of these polygons contain multiple parts (i.e. more than one polygon per record). When I run this dataset through an AreaOnAreaOverlayer it seems that some of the multiple polygon parts are lost. This is shown in a comparison of 'DataExtent.png' with 'AonA_Output_Extent.png'. I have tried running the polygon dataset through a Deaggregator thinking this would split records with multiple geometries in to multiple records (in case multiple polygons per record was causing an issue for the AreaOnAreaOverlayer). However the output from the Deaggregator is untouched regardless of the settings in the transformer (so perhaps these are not aggregates). Ultimately I need to run these polygons through the AreaOnAreaOverlayer but need all parts to be considered.  The data was initially stored in an Esri file geodatabase and I've also tried as a Mapinfo .TAB but am getting the same results. Hello to all, I have created with FME 2019 a CityGML file with the UtilityNetwork ADE extension. Some of the ADE feature types I am using are: Cable, ProtectiveElement, ConnectorComponent or PowerTransformer. These features have their own attributes according to the ADE specification but also, I added to them some generic attributes like: <gen:stringAttribute name="CableType"><gen:value>MT</gen:value></gen:stringAttribute>After that, I want to convert this CityGML files to other formats. To do this, I am trying to add a reader for this CityGML file (with the ADE extension), but it doesn’t recognize the generic attributes. In the CityGML reader, I have specified the parameters like that: And I I get all the feature types lo load: But when looking at the attributes of Cable for instance, I don’t see the generic ones on the list. I only see the ones from the ADE Specification: I also have tried to add a Generic reader, but the problem here is that it only identifie

I'm uploading objects to my S3 bucket using the S3Connector (Action: Upload) and I see that I can add metadata but it looks like I can't add any tags for my new object. The lifecycle rules in my bucket depend on my objects being properly tagged. Is there any way to achieve this?

Hi,I'm using the FeatureWriter to export a bunch of data from an SDE FeatureReader to a shapefile format. While most shapefiles are getting created with no problems, there are a few where the attribute table cannot be read using either ArcMap or ArcCatalog. The ones that cannot be read seem to be the ones where I am using a Tester transformer to select only certain features for export.The image below shows the 3 layers that are having the problems. Other layers also use a Tester, but they also use other Transformers as well.The three that are having the issue are the only ones where there is just one Tester transformer in the 'chain'.Spatially, all the data is there, but it's just the attribute table that cannot be read. This is the error I get in ArcCatalog.
