I like to use FME Desktop to convert multiple DTED Files into one single MBTile file. Does anyone has a simple example on how to go about it?

I'm facing a strange issue reading a DGN file with FME 2018.1. If I open it with the Data Inspector, I see a weird aggregate whose origin I do not understand: If I open the file with a DGN viewer or AutoCAD, I dont't see anything wrong:I use the default parameters of the DGN (v7) Reader. I have tried to change some of them to see what happens, but so far no luck.Does anyone know why FME builds such a weird a geometry? Is there any workaround? I have tested the same DGN with the last version of FME and everything looks fine, but right now the client doesn't want to upgrade from the 2018 version.Obviously, something has improved over the last couple of years to let

Hi, I have a dataset that as part of a cleanup I am generalising. It is a vector dataset derived from aerial photography, therefore it has a slightly pixelated look. The point of the generalising is to remove this look and 'smooth' the output. The problem is that at times the output becomes too generalised. See below where relatively straight lines become quite pronounced. In this instance, I do not want the lines to change much. But for example below these particular parameters do a great job. Here, with the same parameters as above it has done a great job of removing the pixelated look.

Hello, I have a text format attribute (lenght : 5 characters (for exple : FEFER, FOUSER,...)) as primary key and I want to change it in integer attribute format. Do you know about methods to do it ? I've tried ASCII conversion but it gives results more than the integer limit.For exemple : I thought I could change each letter by the number (A->1, B->2, ...). How can I do it ? Thank you for your help.

I would like to filter my dataset based on addresses that don't match. The Tester is not giving the expected output. Please see the screenshots below: The first screenshot (Tester1) is of Tester Parameters box where I have set the addresses of the joined dataset to not equal each other. The second screenshot (Tester2) shows the transformer output and as you can see the addresses are the same. Thank you for your help!  

Hi all,I have some open data from the UK Ordnance Survey of place names.There is a CSV file for each OS grid tile containing XY coordinates and the name and details of the location. However these files do not contain field headers. The field headers are supplied in a separate CSV. I would like to create geometry files from the CSVs but don't know how to apply the field names from one CSV to others so my outputs can have the correct fields names.Is this something FME can do? Once the field names are in place then I can use a VertexCreator and assign X/Y to the correct fields Attached is some sample data.Thanks in advance

I need to download data from this website:https://www.ep-online.nl/ep-online/PublicData Beside that, I have access to the api key.  I would like to use the HTTP caller to download data from this website. However, I could not figure out which parameters to use in the transformer. Using the browser console it seems that I need a POST request?Beside that I doubted where to fill the api key in the HTTP caller? See attached the message from the browser console.

I am using Microsoft Access database in Hexagon Geospatials GeoMedia Professional. I am trying to read the features and inspect the geometries. I can read the features but FME does not seem to handle the geometry? FME show the geometry field with binary data, but it does not render the geometry. I have never used MS Access to read geometry data before. Any ideas of what is going wrong or how I can solve it?

Hello,I have a shp layer of lines for which I need to calculate the length of each line then round it to suppress the decimals. I use the lenghtcalculator to get the lenght of each line but for some lines I get results such as 7.566995918750763e-10 or 1.7276990785794134e-9With these results, I get 0 after the attributerounder. I even tried a stringformatter to reduce the amount of decimals but theses objets also turn into 0.Is there a way to avoid getting so much precision when calculating the lenght ? Or another way to calculate the lenght (I get the same result with an attribute creator and length() ) ? Many thanks in adance!Ann

Hi, I think, there's a bug in FME 2020.1. It's not possible to get an UTF-8 encoded result if I use the XSLTProcessor with UTF-8 encoded xml-doc as attribute and UTF-8 encoded embedded xslt-stylesheet attribute.The XSLT-definition has also "<xsl:output method="xml" encoding="UTF-8" indent="yes" version="2.0" />" included.  Best regards, Matthias

I like to test out new beta functionality and would like to have a better idea about when the next official major release would be available. I end up telling colleagues about this new functionality and when they ask when it will be available, I would like to give them a good estimate of when that would be out.  I wasn't sure Safe was shooting for a certain month for each major release version, or they just happen whenever they are ready. For example, I'm looking at the new dynamic FME Server App Gallery updates that are to be release with 2020.2 and would like to know when that might be available to download for the official release.

Hi. I have a feature class (ESRI filegeodatabase) with lines and one with points. The tolerence of the featureclasses are 0.02m, and I need to disperse/move some points which are within the tolerence of each other (or else they are overlapping according to ESRI Utility Network).   I want to disperse/move the points by 0.025m so they no longer overlap. Just like this: How can I accomplish this? What I've tried so far is finding overlapping points with a neighborfinder and creating a custom transformer for moving the points. The custom transformer uses a snipper (with a set distance) and coordinateExtractor to get new coordinates for the points, vertexcreator for replacing the actual point and then another

I was working on a my FME workspace this afternoon and after I was done working I closed it normally, however later tonight I started FME and to my surprise I couldn't find that workspace along with few other workspaces in my local drive. this is really strange...Any suggestions on how to recover those files even if they are deleted by system or by some virus...Thanks H

I have an FME workspace that I have set to run on a scheduled day/time etc through the Windows Task Scheduler. This worked fine, but recently the following happens:the workspace does start to run, but gets stuck at some point while reading the data (Usually 3 minutes in to a workbench that runs about 30 minutes normally)this is more or less at the same point in time where FME creates a ffs logfile.the task scheduler doesn't show that the task failed, it shows that everything went fine (task result = (0x0))the regular workspace logfile just shows the process stuck somewhere at reading something that does issue a warning. I checked and the workspace is set to keep running through warnings. Like I mentioned, everything used to work fine. The machine we run it on is an Azure machine. The tasks is set to run on a time when I'm normally not logged onto the machine. When I do log on to the machine and run the task manuall

I am using the dissolver to aggregate and dissolve area polygons grouping them by an ID. Hi!I'm looking for create a specific grid over my datas. It's not a standard grid with rows and columns. I would like to have polygons with the same areas and put them along my datas. The polygons have to be joined and no have superposition. The datas have to be centered (or almost), the idea is to have maximum datas on the polygon and not just a little bit.After I would like to create numbering based on the order of these polygons. I tried with 2Dgridcreator and spatialfilter with my datas convert on a polygon (hullreplacer), but I have a lot of polygon with few data and a lot of empty. On the capture, that I would like to obtain. Do you have an idea? Thanks!

So I have this IMDF writer. Everything works fine except for this one property building_ids. The writer in safe says it is just a string. However, I have trouble making it generate output. In reality, it needs to look like this in the generated geojson: "building_ids" : ["8f0f9e75-860d-4050-a0f0-3483cd895a31"]

How would I isolate the top face of some buildings I've just extruded? - so that I can apply different appearances to the top and the walls.
