SpatialFilter gives more intersections than expected, any clue?For a parcel I want to compute the area covered by buildings on that parcel. The start situation, with one parcel and some buildings. My next plan was to use a SpatialRelator to create a list of buildings located at the yellow parcel.I tested this approach using a SpatialFilter first to see whether the intersect function works. I expected to get back only the 2 red buildings within the parcel polygon. However, I got this:A subpolygon of one the buildings is also selected. Did I something wrong?​​​My settings of the SpatialFilter:Any ideas how to solve this? I tried other Predicates to test as well but so far no success. 

Hello everyone,I am a beginner with CityGML and am currently trying to convert a dataset to CityGML 3 with generics extensions using FME Workbench. However, I am encountering a couple of issues:Warning about inheritance relationship: The output gives a warning indicating no inheritance relationship. I have used AttributeMerge to add gml_parent_id, but the system does not seem to recognize it.<GML_2 Writer> - '12482' orphaned features found, XML comments representing these features will be present in the output file: <!-- orphaned feature - parent id:'...', id:'...', type:'...' -->Geometry export issue: It does not export correctly after setting up the geometry. In the Inspector, the data appears as a table without geometry.Additionally, the original dataset exchenged in CityGML 3 standard, and its geometry's encoding is Name (encoded: UTF-16LE). Could this encoding be affecting the process?My settings and the transformer export are shown below.

Hi! Sorry for my english. I have a problem with  "collapsed parameter/option" on the “user parameters manager” or “FME options” for exemple. All the options that can be collapsed doesn’t display very well and sometime I don’t see there are a suite. For exemple, if I don’t scroll, I don’t see that “Number configuration” had an option “Numeric precision”. Is it possible to had something like a button  or an other way to open an other windows?Thanks !

Hi i am trying to read lots of excel using the feature reader transformer,  passing in the locations form a directory path reader. all the excel have different tab names but the data always start on row 10. As the dataset is a file path the option for telling it to start on row 10 are blanked out. anyone know how i get around this?Many thanks,Andy  

We recently downloaded the 2021.1 version of FME. All previous scripts run on 2020.1 without problems. Now however, I get a warning message "Excel Writer: Failed to refresh Pivot Tables and recalculate formulas. Note this is only possible on Windows with Excel installed" when exporting to an excel with the use of a template. I write my data in 1 tab, and that tab is used to make a pivot table in another tab. Because of this warning, the excels in my dataflow I have stay open and after 20-ish files the memory in my task manager is full, so the translation fails. We did not change the version of Excel, that should not be the problem. Anyone an idea what could be the problem?  

@We have 2020.1 Desktop/Server and are writing to an ESRI ArcGIS Portal Feature Service. It successfully reads and writes using the configured web connection based on the ArcGIS Portal (Template). Unlike ArcGIS Online, the writer doesn't seem to update@ the token and I have to go into the web connection settings and re-authenticate manually. We are connecting to a 10.7.1 Portal and it happens in both FME Desktop and Server. Our 10.7.1 Portal is currently only operating from 7am to 7pm and restarts nightly (Dev environment). I've noticed in the workbenches connecting to AGOL, that the token in updated automatically. But that doesn't appear to be happening in the Portal writer. Is it something I'm doing? Or is it the nightly restarts of Portal? Thanks 

Currently I am working on writing to an IFC-file. One of the classes I would like to write is IfcZone. However, when I try to do that, I get the warning: IFC: Unable to write objects of type 'IfcZone'Now I am wondering whether I did something wrong and I am missing some settings or whether FME does not (yet) support writing to IfcZone?@DaveAtSafe

I am trying to write PDF file using PDF writer, when I add @Value(Scan_Location) in fanout dataset it creates 2 different files as output. And that is not what i want . I just want this name ….20240621 NI2-HK-L03 As-built_PDMS Comparison Report F1.pdf and just one file

It’s that number I am interested in, but I can’t seem to find a way to get it exposed. So I have a workspace that reads a DWG, and writes another one after setting viewport attributes according to this article: https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407658483341-Working-with-AutoCAD-LayoutsHowever, even though I’ve set autocad_viewport_view_center_x, autocad_viewport_view_center_y, autocad_viewport_center_point_x and autocad_viewport_center_point_y to display the view at the center of the page, I keep getting the viewport centered at 0, 0 in paper space, so my viewport content is centered close to the lower left corner of the page on output.  I have quintuple-checked that all the required viewport attributes are set correctly.  It seems like the writer is simply ignoring my viewport center settings.I’ve been banging on this for more than a day now, and have made no headway against it.  Hopefully some kind soul out there will have an idea of what could be going wrong.The layout pageThe viewport, 1st page of attributesThe viewport, 2nd papge of attributes + geometry 

I have an SDE file I created in ArcPro that works in ArcPro, but whenever I try to add it as a reader in FME (Data Interoperability, ArcPro version 3.2.1) I get a simple error of “MULTI_READER reader: GEODATABASE_SDE reader: An unknown expectation occurred.I tested other SDE connections and they work fine in FME and ArcPro. I have tried generating a new SDE file and connecting with an embedded connection and an database connection in FME. Any other ideas on how to get this connection working? Also, it was working until this past weekend. This is a new issue we have not had before. 

I’m unable to establish a connection to SDE after recently receiving a permanent license file from Safe.  I’ve tried connecting using several methods: connection files stored in 'C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\Esri\Desktop10.8\ArcCatalog\’, connection file stored on a network directory; and typing in the database credentials. I was able to successfully use the same connection files while using the temporary license file provided and am not aware of any other changes in our IT environment.  I’ve also tried (unsuccessfully) to connect to other SQL databases in our Data Warehouse (outside the GIS environment) that contain tabular data and receive the same error message (shown in red below) which appears after selecting the ‘...’ under “Tables” in the Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) Parameters dialog box that normally opens the list of feature classes/tables that can be added to the workspace.‘Failed to retrieve feature types. In FME 2024, i have feature caching enabled but when I run the workspace, I cannot see more than 100 records at any transformer in the workspace. And if I try to sort them in asc or desc order by clicking on any column, nothing is displayed. 

I want to implement referencing geometries of spaces and space boundaries using XLink:href. I found this solution (https://hub.safe.com/publishers/con-terra/templates/citygml-create-building-lod-2-using-xlinks). This solution works very well for CityGML 2, but I couldn't implement it for CityGML 3.0 using the GML writer. I changed the transformers and tried different approaches (considering the "boundary" relation in CityGML 3.0), none of them worked! I will appreciate any help and suggestion 🙂

I am trying some network analisys (isochrones and route/gpx creation) and I am obviously doing something wrong, I just can't figure out what.I am using OSM highways, unfiltered (I also tried a local route network, same result). The only manipulation I did is convert it to espg 28992RDnew (because it's in meters) before using it as an input for the topologybuilder (also tried topology calculator). Since I have multiple start points I created a road network Per stop_id and used ‘group by’ on the topologybuilder and networkcostcalculator.  The results are very weird. Connected and (way too many) not connected seem random: (green = connected, red = not connected) Zoomed in:I tried pretty much all settings on the networkcostacalculator. When I try the shortestpathfinder it's also clear that something is off, it refuses to use some (random) paths/roads/lines. So it's obvious I am doing something wrong, I just cannot figure out what.  

Hallo FME community, I am new to this FME software and got a task.  I have 100 city folders with single .jpg and .jgw file inside each folders. .jgw has x and y coordinates of a reference system. Can anyone tell me workflow with necessary transformers to select each jpg with their .jgw and create their own destination folder and save the Geotiffs in individual folders. 

Does anyone know if there would be a performance difference between having linked transformers stored on a shared external drive compared to a local drive?I do not have much experience with linked custom transformers yet, but my current understanding is that there may be slightly longer load times when opening the workspace using the linked transformer, however no performance decrease in translation. Would this be correct?

I am running FME 2023.2 and have a dynamic workspace that is creating a File Geodatabase (FGDB) with a FeatureWriter, and I am running against ArcGIS Pro 3.2. Recently, I have wanted to access some annotation class properties in that GDB, but I find that I cannot access them. ArcGIS Pro says that the FGDB is version 10.0 and that I need to upgrade the FGDB to the latest version to activate those properties. I looked at the log for the last run that built the FGDB, and I see "Created and connected to the ArcGIS 10.0 File Geodatabase at '[Location]\\template_General_Prod.gdb'" I checked the FeatureReader geodatabase version parameter, and it is set to "Current." So, ArcGIS Pro is telling me that there is a later FGDB version than 10.0, while FME, though set to "Current," is creating a 10.0 version FGDB.  I am confused. Can FME only create a maximum 10.0 FGDB version, or is there actually no later FGDB version ... or is something else going on? 

I am working on a process to read in dwg files, parse the text and assign metadata attributes.  I have one file that I am using that had missing xrefs.  Using RealDwg Reader, it worked fine.  But, when I bound the xrefs, it gave me the following error after reading in most of the file: AutoCAD Reader: An error occurred for dataset '<filepath>\FIRESPRINKLER.dwg', in function RealDWGReader::processDimBlockCommon: 'eNullObjectId' I purged and also made a .dxf file, but still got the error.  I am using FME 2023.2.4Using the regular AutoCAD dwg/dxf Reader, it worked no problem.  I suspect there is some entity in the CAD file that the RealDwg Reader did not like, but after multiple purges and audits, I can’t find anything to delete.  If I am going to publish this Workspace, I need to know if there are things to look for that would help choose the correct reader.  The file is in AutoCAD version 2018.Questions: Is this error related to a specific function in RealDwg Reader, or is it just

Hi,I have a .add file that I just could open it as a text file in FME. Do you know anyway to read this file as CSV? Or a way to replace all spaces with one space?There are irregular spaces between them, and when I open it as a CSV, it is not a helpful file.I tried to use SrtingReplacer to replace many spaces with one space, but there are many different numbers of spaces in each attribute.Thank you for your assistance.

I tried the FileExistenceChecker to check fo a online xml-document but it seems that it can not check url adresses (result -> DoesNotExist). It didn't recognize an url-Adress that the xml-Reader is able to read (See attached Test Workspace). Any Idea what the problem could be?

When reading FCL from ArcGIS sde database, also the information about the FDS in which the FCL resides is available in FME. There is no problem in writing it to another database in a FDS, even if this FDS does not exist in the target. If one would like to create the new FCL not in a FDS (in my case SQL server database) straight from the input, you will get an error creating a FDS.Geodatabase Writer: Creating feature class `ARCFMUT.FCL_BW_LOGGER' in feature dataset 'BW_intern.ARCFMUT.FDS_BW_DIVERSEN'An error occurred while attempting to create the feature class 'ARCFMUT.FCL_BW_LOGGER'. I have two feature classes (FC) that are linked by a 1:1 relationship. Both FCs contain about 4,000,000 objects, of which I ultimately need about 20,000 objects. I understand that I could join all 4,000,000 objects, but that would take a considerable amount of time, which I want to save.My idea is to select the required objects in FC A and create a new list using the join attribute. Later, I want to use the FeatureReader and a WHERE clause query to read and process the required objects in FC B. Unfortunately, I am having a problem with the creation of the WHERE clause, so no objects are being read.My workflow is as follows:Read and select objects from FC A Prepare the join attribute for the WHERE clause (add quotes) Create the list using the join attribute Convert the list to a string with commas as separators Read the objects using FeatureReaderEverything seems to work except for the last step. If I enter the WHERE clause manually (without the list), it works. Below is my current work
