Hello, I would like to export my FME workspace (see image below) in order to integrate it in the appendices of a technical report. Is there a way to do so apart the "Print"? Printing the workspace sadly does not work since it is quite large and would then become very small and unreadable. Any alternative? Can be either exported in a text format or a reduce graphic format...
Hi All, https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407773286157-FME-CIM-XML-for-Electric-Utilities The link mentioned above offers valuable insights about the process of transferring data into XML format specifically designed for CIM electric utilities. Upon constant verification, "61970cim18v02_61968cim14v00" is mentioned in cim.xsd file. This seem to indicate that the CIM version is of version 14 (version 0)? I am seeking assistance to determine the specific CIM version associated with the link provided. Understanding the appropriate CIM version is crucial for ensuring compatibility and seamless integration within the current system. Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated, as it will streamline the process of identifying and implementing the correct CIM version, thereby enhancing the overall functionality and efficiency of the system. Thank you in advance for your support and assistance in clarifying the CIM version associated with this link.
Hello everyone,I am currently working on migrating sewer utility data from an AutoCAD Civil 3D (2022) DWG file into the Esri Utility Network Foundation (Sewer) feature class/file geodatabase.Issue: The attribution for the DWG sewer layers is stored in tables that I need to join to my DWG/Feature class during the FME workflow by matching an ID field. However, the ID field in my DWG is not appearing in the reader I am using (Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D), not even as an “unexposed attribute”.I discovered a legacy .fmw file that successfully reads this field using a different reader (Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data), which I do not have a license for.Questions: What is the necessary license for Autodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Data (aka AUTOCAD_OD)? Is it an FME-based license, or does it require an active AutoCAD Civil 3D license on my computer (which I currently don't have)? As an alternative, can anyone guide me on how to copy-paste the ID field that I can’t access in FME into a differ
Hello all, I am trying to use “reader” AGO data to provide a “Writer” GDB which contain the attachment photos I have been advised to use this process:In the “reader” I set up o include attachment:and selected the attributes: Set up “AttributExposer” In “RasterReplacer” I am not usre what should be done: When I try to select “Data:Became unable to process: I have been advised“ It seems you missed the last step in my first response. "The arcgisonline_attachment{}.data attribute holds the raster data which you could then use the RasterReplacer to recreate the image."You should add RasterReplacer to restore data into an image and then use a writer with the correct format (which you selected within RasterReplacer) to write those output.” Does someone one know what to do? ThanksCheers
I have been using Dynamic writers to create feature classes and tables in an Esri File Geodatabase for years. I normally use the FME field type “fme_int32” to create Long Integer field types. However, I need to create attributes using Esri’s new ‘Big Integer’ field type. I assumed I could use “fme_int64” but when I run my workspace in FME 2024.0, it runs without errors but it doesn’t create the new feature class. When I change the 2 fields from fme_int64 back to fme_int32, it runs without errors and creates the new feature class. I have ArcPro 3.2.2 installed which also supports the new Big Integer (64 Bit) field types. My question is: Should I be using a different FME Field type besides ‘fme_int64’ to generate Big Integer field types via a Dynamic FGDB Feature Class Writer? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I am trying to publish a file to a certain folder once per month by using FME workbench. Currently, the file is generated daily with the filename format of YYYYMMDD. And in the destination folder, there is a single file for each month, e.g. 20240101, 20240203, 20240302, etc. For example, if I run the workbench and generate the file on 20240601, the file should be published to the destination folder as there was no existing files in the folder with YYYYMM=202406. However, when I run the workbench again on 20240602, the file should not be published to the destination folder, as there is already one for 202406. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi,I have an FME workbench that outputs a KMZ but i want to create a folder tree style for ease of view. Currently it outputs as below: I have been unsuccessfully trying to create a tree which will output something like this:Proper name instead of doc (folder) → operating_voltage (folder) → feeder_name (folder) → actual feeder spatial data .Screenshot of workbench below: The operating_voltage and the feeder_name coming from the attribute_renamers at the right end of the workbench.I tried using the instructions in below link, but it is not exactly the same as the attributes are in the data already and not being created for the purpose of the multi folder.Creating KML Folders Through KML IDs – FME Support Center (safe.com)Any ideas how this can be done?thank you,fb
I am trying to dynamically join a bunch of datasets to a lookup based on the layer and a specific attribute name and attribute value. I'm currently doing this with an attribute exploder to get the attribute name and value, but the amount of features it's creating is causing a problem when I come to spatially join it to a feature class using a spatial relator. Any suggestions?
I'm try to translate fgdb to shp file But I got following errorBADNEWS: File C:\\Program Files\\FME\\metafile\\MULTI_WRITER.fmf could not be opened(C:\\code\\fme\\foundation\\framework\\control\\generiz.cpp:1658) class StatusInfo *__cdecl STFGenericizer::processMetafile(const class stk::ex::UString<0> &,const class stk::ex::UStringArray<0> *,const class stk::ex::UString<0> &,const class stk::ex::UString<0> &,const class stk::ex::UString<0> &,const class stk::ex::UString<0> &,class STFAttributeName &,class STFMetaMapper &,class STFObjectNameConstraints &,bool &,bool &,bool &,class stk::ex::UStringArray<0> &,class stk::ex::UString<0> &,class std::vector<class STFFeatureType,class std::allocator<class STFFeatureType> > &,class stk::ex::UStringArray<0> &,class stk::ex::UStringArray<0> &,class stk::ex::UString<0> &,class std::vector<struct
Hello,I’m trying to connect hundrets of feature types to different transformers (see screenshot). Connecting them via “Feature Type Connections” window only works if you have a clear mapping/names for your input ports. Connecting them by hand is way to slow and error-prone.I’m sure there must be a better way. Many thanks in advance.
Hi,I have a table (that started life as a JSON table, lists exposed etc) containing multiple attribute fields and rows. One of the fields contains CLOB data, like this:<cmAstLocSpId>148606829</cmAstLocSpId><criticalityDetails><criticalityReasons><criticalityReasonsList><criticalityReason>CMEH</criticalityReason></criticalityReasonsList></criticalityReasons></criticalityDetails><cmOsgridref>NZ30272359</cmOsgridref><cmOsnorthing>523598</cmOsnorthing><cmOseasting>430279</cmOseasting><cmRegion>TEESSIDE</cmRegion><cmRepairRegion>TEESSIDE</cmRepairRegion><cmDnoArea>NP (NE)</cmDnoArea><cmCreatedByUser>DAVID</cmCreatedByUser><cmCreationDate>2023-11-23</cmCreationDate> I want to turn the normal text into column / field headings, and those highlighted in bold into values in the relevant column. eg the first column will be “cmAstLocSpld” and t
hello experts,I am trying something that to some of you may be quite simple so I hope one of you is able to help me out.All i am trying to do is to append/add the value cnt from the inlinequerier to the existing excel file.I am trying to write the cnt value into the count_of_errors value where the incoming feeder name is the same as the destination one (in excel file).thank you,fb
See 12 day old post. I appreciate the gamification of the user base but it is not a game when I have a critical, work FMW that that isn’t working. There has got to be something better than this support. Am I not entitled to some level of solution based, tech support for the software fees paid?
I am trying to decode attachments from my layer in ArcGIS Online into a JPEG, and it keeps failing. I tried the workflow in this article (using BinaryDecoder then go into RasterReplacer), but I get an error saying BinaryDecoder (TextEncoderFactory): Invalid Base64 character '137'. Next I tried the workflow in this other article (using just the RasterReplacer) and set the format to JPEG / JPEG2000. Doing that results in the records being sent to the rejected port. With just the RasterReplacer, if I set the format to PNG I can get the images to come through, but I need a JPEG in order to write it to a Geospatial PDF. Is there another step that I am missing, or some other way to write the attachment to a pdf?
Hello, we have started using FME Desktop with a VPN connection. It takes about 20 -30 Minutes until the programm starts. It remains with the message "Initializing Start Window" the whole time. We have set a new environment Variable like one Post said but there are no changes after that.Has anyone any Idea how can we solve this problem? Thanks in advance!
So I’ve been trying to overwrite a coordinate system in FME, usually I work with EPSG codes. In FME most (if not all ) projections has an EPSG associated with them. When searching for a coordinate system you can just throw in the EPSG code. It’s great.I discovered that one of FME’s coordinate systems (EPSG:3004) by default uses a pretty poor translation to WGS84. I wanted to update the definition so the EPSG code would work better. I defined a new coordinate system in the hopes that when picking the EPSG code it would take my user defined system over the FME one. I found that the only way I could get the EPSG number to link to my new definition was if I actually gave it the same name as the one in FME Any other name and using the EPSG would always revert back to the old unprecise definition. In this case “MonteMario_1.Italy-2”. Of course now I get what looks to be duplicates in the list. Interestingly, no matter which you pick you always end up with the same coordinate system getting u
Hi all,I can’t seem to get the Offsetter to properly take this geometry - it keeps rejecting (properties below).I broke out this to another workbench and it worked find with a simple solid - just wondering what is happening here as I can’t seem to figure it out. The geom. disappears after the offset.Any clues as to what is happening? Thanks!
Hi,How can I stop the translation if one Tester in my workspace pass 0 features in the ‘Passed’ port? Thank´s
I have FME v2024 with a Floating License. I have Windows 10 Enterprise installed. I am almost out of space on my disk where my "Temp" folder is located. The persistent problem I have with FME is that every time I try to open an XML file, although I do have the reader for it, I consistently get the same 6 errors. I have tried opening other files and there is no problem with those, only with XML files.[1]: HTTP transfer error: Timeout was reached[2]: Please ensure that your network connection is properly set up[3]: No proxy settings have been entered. If you require a proxy to access external URLs, please ensure the appropriate information has been entered.[4]:Failed to obtain any schemas from reader 'CITYGML' from 1 datasets. This may be due to invalid datasets or format accessibility issues due to licensing, dependencies, or module loading. See logfile for more information[5]:Workspace generation failed. Parameter file was C:\Users\User1\AppData\Local\Temp\FME_1717067304960_7084.Login
I am creating some attributes dynamically, which are then present but unexposed. I will not know the names of these attributes in advance. How do I expose them so I can do some downstream processing with the attribute values? I can’t use the AttributeExposer since I don’t know the attribute names in advance.
I am on Form 20240521, build 24219 on Windows 10 and I am getting the error stated in the title. Following the discussion in I checked my path. FME is in the path and the path currently has a length of 1652 characters. The plugin directory exists and there are 62 directories and 400 files inside…The error warning shows up several times, two times in relation to two different FeatureReaders (version 14) .FeatureReader 1:format: shapefile error: Error prepending 'C:\Program Files\FME_23781\plugins' to path environment variable.FeatureReader 2:format: geopackage error: Error prepending 'C:\Program Files\FME_23781\plugins\gdal' to path environment variable. The next time the error shows up is in relation to a FeatureWriter:format: Esri Geodatabase (File Geodb) error: Error prepending 'C:\Program Files\FME_23781\plugins\..' to path environment variable.Any suggestion on how to deal with this, apart from what was mentioned in then earlier thread?
I need to create unique Ids for a point feature class. Also, when a new point is added to the class I need to the unique Id created automatically when the workspace is run. I have created a workspace that includes the File Geodatabase Point Feature Class Reader then the Counter Transformer to create a new field named _count and a new field in AttributeManager named Facility_ID. All the unique Ids will be formatted as follows: BLDG-000000001, BLDG-000000002, etc…When a new Building Point is added to the Feature Class, the Facility_ID field will automatically be populated with a unique ID in sequence increments of 1; example if the highest unique id in the feature class is BLDG-000000109, then when a new building is added it’s unique id will be BLDG-000000110. What else do I need to do? any assistance is much appreciated.
We have FME Flow (Windows 2024.0.1) installed in an EC2 instance in a VPC. The DynamoDB reader uses the public endpoint: dynamodb.<region>.amazonaws.com.Can this be modified to use a VPC endpoint? For example: vpce-0a06cf963f9d04a28-3wilx6xm.dynamodb.us-west-2.vpce.amazonaws.com We need to do this for all AWS endpoints, S3 and SQS.Thank you,Kathy
Anybody tell me what I'm getting wrong here? Document Link path is valid. No errors in the FME log but attachment not found in the http response?
I have a 3D buffer that I want to clip with a 3D object. If I use the 3D clipper then it will be only clipped in width, but not in depth. Any solution for this problem?
