FME Flow

Hi, I have an issue that's an emergency. We frequently rely on FME Servers email subscription to send out emails. We use that service to notify ourselves if a scheduled script fails to run. We use it to notify clients when certain data is available for them to download. This week, all of a sudden those emails stopped delivering. I ran some tests today. Nothing. We have a script that notifies FME Server. The notification is received successfully. The subscription is also running successfully it seems. I checked the email log that falls under \\resources\\logs\\core\\current\\subscribers\\PVSRVFME_email.log The log says all the emails have been "successfully sent" I haven't received any of the failure notification, not any other kind of emails. These are my FME Subscriber setting. It has been like this for months and the emails are usually sent fine Please let me know what can be done. I am running FME 20170331 - Build 17280 - Win64, with ArcGIS Desktop 10.5 and ArcGIS Pro 1.4 in the background. For ArcGIS Desktop I also installed the Background Geoprocessing extension to enable a 64-bit Python with arcpy. For ArcGIS Desktop, that's of course always for Python 2.7. ArcGIS Pro comes with Python 3.5 and is a 64-bit system.When I ran my workbench with four little Python scripts, whereof not a single one is calling arcpy, gp or something related to ESRI Python modules, only standard modules are used, then I got a Python error: File "c:\\apps\\arcgis\\desktop10.5\\arcpy\\arcpy\\geoprocessing\\_base.py", line 14, in <module> import arcgisscripting ImportError: No module named arcgisscripting I set my Pythonpath to the bin64 folder of the desktop10.5 installation, referencing the 64-bit geoprocessing tools, and adjusted the Python interpreter in FME to 'Esri ArcGIS Desktop Python(2.7)' I ran the workbench and got the same error message I adjusted the Pythonpath variable to

Our FME Server fsconfig backup file is 15Gb. It is a 2015 server that we plan to upgrade to version 2017 and then clean up the legacy workspaces that we inherited from another team. But with a back up of 15Gb I expect problems when I read that other users on the forum had problems with a 3Gb backup file. What is the easiest way of determining what is contributing to the large backup file size so we can clean the biggest offending workspaces etc. Thanks in advance, Annette

I am trying to modify the docker-compose file available here to work on a Docker Swarm but I end up with an FME Server core that does not see my engines. My modifications to the docker-compose file included updating the version to 3 and removing the networking information. If I run the compose file with the networks attributes I received errors about them being out of scope of the swarm. Any hints?

Hi, We recently upgraded FME Server to 2017, our schedules are running correctly however when running a workspace through the web interface it return an error message "There was an error submitting the job". Any suggestions welcome. Thanks, Chris

It has been awhile - but will be getting a new machine and will need to reinstall fme. In previous versions I was able to identify the path to our floating license server, but cannot figure out how to do this in my current version. I am running 2016.0.1.2(20160318 - Build 16178 - win64). Where can I go to identify or reset our floating license server?

Currently the license code is hosting 2 engines and server edition. I need to increase 3 more engines to the existing license code. Could anyone guide me on the procedure to add more engines to the existing license code?

I have a FME workspace which converts spatial data from an Oracle database to XML using a XMLTemplator and a XML Validator. With an input of 80.000 features, FME stops in the XMLTemplator with the following error: unable to realloc 447475646 bytes. Error running translation. With smaller selections (a few thousand), the workspace works fine. We suspect that due to working in a Citrix Evironment (with Windows 10.1) FME_TEMP should probably be redirected to another drive instead of C:\\ to get enough memory space. How can we change the FME_TEMP variable in Citrix? Or does someone know other possible solutions we could try?

Hi, We've just upgraded FME server from 2016 to 2017. The restore has been successful and all repositories and schedules are currently up and running with the exception of those workbenches where the FMEServerJobSubmitter transformer is embedded. They are failing because the FME Server web url has been modified during the upgrade procedure and now requires the port number to be suffixed to the url, for example should be - http://scnfme.mycounil.gov currently - http://scnfme.mycouncil.gov:8080 How can the port number be removed from the url? I have modified the url settings in services to no avail. Thanks in advance, Chris

Hi, The last time I tried connecting a floating license from one of the FME license servers from an Amazon EC2 instance, I couldn't connect. Any idea that leads to connecting a floating license from EC2 will be much appreciated. Thanks.

If I hit the Topic Monitoring Tab: The current status says Connecting. After a few seconds the Current Status returned to stopped. The status is never "Started" Any advice to get the Topic Monitoring working?

Hello everybody, unfortunately, all FME apps (workbench, inspector, licensingmng atc.) are not able to open after its start. I tried to start FME on another server to server with floating licence. If I tried to start via FME API, it showed me this message: ERROR 2017-12-15 08:51:54,392 FmeInvokerCore [FmeInvoker] - Error Safe.FMEObjects.FMEOException: FME floating license system failure: cannot connect to license server(-15) ERROR 2017-12-15 08:51:54,392 FmeInvokerCore [FmeInvoker] - FmeErrorNumber:-1 If I tried to start FME on licencing server, it runs without problem. I checked also this article https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/543/floating-license-troubleshooting.html, but no advice helped :-( Please, does anybody have any tip, how to solve this problem? Hi there, I try to call an FME POST call using Postman using sample workspace austinDownload.fmw, in Server2017 it works fine, when I test using FME Server2016, it always give me an error:415 Unsupported Media Type(see attached image). Passing parameters I copied from API document. Could you tell me why and how to fix it? Thank you very much.

I have an FME Server workbench that is registered with the data download service, and the download link is correctly included in the success email when ran on-demand. However when scheduled and linked to a default topic (DATADOWNLOAD_ASYNC_JOB_SUCCESS) that the Data Download success email is subscribed too, no download link is contained within the email. What am I missing?

I have downloaded the 'fme-desktop-2017_2017.1.1.1.17652_ubuntu.16.04_amd64.deb' installer and attempted installation but this fails. I have followed the suggestions in the post here: https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/33517/fme-on-ubuntu-1604-install.html python3.6.3 is currently installed. but error indicating broken dependencies:- libpng12-0 (>= 1.2.13-4), libpython3.5 (>= 3.5.0~b1), libqt5xmlpatterns5 (>= 5.0.2), libtcmalloc-minimal4, python3-matplotlib (>= 1.2.0), python3-numpy (>= 1.8.0) suggestion was 'sudo apt --fix-broken install' but this only offers to remove 'fme-desktop-2017 Any ideas welcome. It seems the installer is looking for python3.5 so will it only install with 3.5?

We have just upgraded our 2017.0 to 2017.1.1.1 server and restored backup. We previously configured https on this machine. Anyone know if you can reuse the certificate on the same server? I would think that if I pasted the keystone file into the directory and made all the changes to the tomcat xml files it would work? Once I completed the FME Server Application Service would not startup and https isn't working? Any thought?

Basically we have some fmw files that write data, and then we have a second fmw file that loads the job status info into an oracle table for logging. The first fmw, runs and then calls the DataLoadingStatus topic Then the called mw, which populates an Oracle table with job status info from the first fmw runs, it is registered with the notification service with the “Send Notification Data to Reader” populated We are running with engines distributed across a number of different boxes. The process is working correctly for what it is, it is passing the correct path to the second fmw to find the temp file. e:\\FMEServer\\Utilities\\tomcat\\temp\\603774853810044_gpas_status.txt - That file does exist on the core host. The problem is the Engines are distributed, so when the second fmw runs on a distributed engine and goes to read that file, it is looking for that path on the local box’s E drive and not the Core host box, and that file does not exist on the local box, so it errors with: ERROR

Hi there, I can generate Token from FME Server2017 using C#, tested with postman, see attached image, but when I try to use same method from FME Server2016, it gives me error: Both user ID and password need to be specified for viewing/generating token. So what's the correct way to generate Token in FME Server2016.1 using postman or C#. Thank you very much.

Hello! I'm new with FME Server (very happy user!) and I was wondering if the Directory Watch can do what I want to do. I want to run a FME workbench each time a file is added to my directory. I want to watch the directory each hour. Can I do that? Second thing, I want to do the opposite. I want to abort a scheduled FME workbench when I detect a particular file into a directory.
