In the workbench below, I wanted to collect the “Boundary” and “Buildings” layers in two feature classes in the same file geodatabase. What the workbench does is that it combines the “Boundary” and “Buildings” in the same feature class.      How this issue can be resolved?   Thank you   Best   Jamal 

 Hello All, FME workbench to transfer data from mdf “Enterprise geodatabase”  to gdb I am trying to develop a workbench that will be able to replace the existing data (FC,Tables,Datasets,…) in a File geodatabase “gdb” by the one coming from the mdf “Enterprise geodatabase”. Is this can be done using FME ? if yes how can I start ?   Regards, Ahmad

Hi All,  I am tring to build a model that would delete all the existing tables, Feature classes and Relationship Classes in a SDE geodatabase and then copy new data from another geodatabase. is there a tool that i can use to delete the actual tables and not the records in those tables?  and a sub question, is there a way to create/update/delete domains in SDE?  thanks you!  

I have been asked to make a 3D model of some buildings for use in Sketchup I have Ordnance Survey building outlines with a height attribute and used the extrude transformer to make a model. The problem is that we need each building to be individually selectable/editable but the file i created merged them all into one thing. How can i extrude to individual buildings in one model?  Since I dont know how to do it in Sketchup so thought I would try in FME as it seems to have a lot of 3D tools (i tried using the fanout in the feature properties but this made a skp file for each building and they werent in the correct geographic location - we dont want this)

This is the second time I report this issue without any solution from FME safe, the issue here is in writing to “FileGeodatabaseArcObjects” after upgrading to ArcGIS 10.3. FME safe keeps saying that the FME 2015 is fully compatible with the ArcGIS 10.3, but in the realty it’s not, trying to use the ArcObjects writer fails to write geodatabases after upgrading to ArcGIS 10.3 while it used to succeed in ArcGIS 10.2.2., so each time I try to use the ArcObjects writer my workbench fails and shows the following massage.  “the Esri Product license used by this machine does not include licenses for the 'ArcInfo' licensing level Unable to perform licensing related tasks. Please ensure that ArcGIS is correctly installed A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details”  Knowing that my ESRI license type is Advanced, as well writing to a shapfile for the same workbench works will. So what is the issue here. Regards,

I'm reading a GIS (LINE) feature class from an SQL database and trying to output it to a Microstation v8 .dgn.The line style I want to output is a fence pattern.  This fence patter is not pre-defined in the DGNStyler.  I have set the linetype in the SEED file and set "by level" in the DGNStyler, but no luck?  This fence style is not one of the standard 7 dash,dash dot...styles.  I'm not sure if I can somehow import that specific style into FME in order to be able to assign it to the output via the DGN Styler, at the moment there is only numbers 0-7 and ByLevel to choose from in FME?.  

I want to upgrade our Oracle 11g Database to 12c. Are there any Problems with FME 2013 while reading or writing 12c or is FME2013 full compatible with the latest Oracle version? Is an update to FME2014 nessessary? Has anybody experience with FME2013 and oracle 12c?

I am trying to transpose the output of an Excel writer.  I have only 1 row of values to transpose perhaps there is an easier way? e.g field1, field2, field3 vala, valb, valc  should become  field1, vala field2, valb field3, valc   I used the example Transpose2015.fmwt on http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/How_To/Advanced-manipulation-of-Excel-tables-using-AttributeExploder.  However my output attributes are not ordered.  It appears the incoming order of the attributes is lost when the AttributeExploder is applied?  Is there an easy to resolve this or an easier method to achieve the same?  I had a brief look at the ListPivotDemo but am waiting for the database outage to be resolved before I can test.  Thanks,  A

I have images (3584 x 1792 pixels) and I'd like to set the RGB-values to zero for all lowest 300 rows of the images.  I've tried this with a RasterCreator (to create a white band of 300 x 3584) and a RasterMosaicker, this works fine. But only one of my input images is being masked.  Is there another way to do this? Maybe with the PythonCaller? But I don't know how to loop through the pixels, and change their RGB-values.  J.      

Hello,  I am trying to convert a multipatch shape file to a DXF creating a block for each feature using one of the attributes as the block name. It seems that the DWGstyler only works for points. How can i proceed using 3d geometry?  Thanks in advance for your help.  Giuseppe

Hello!  I am new to FME, so I am sorry if I am asking a too basic question.  I have been searching the Interent and reading many comments/videos to try to find the answer.  I simply have a drawing in AutoCAD, and I would like to bring this in to GIS as a shapefile.  My dwg has points, and each point has one text attribute to it.  I can bring in each point fine with FME, but I cannot bring in the attribute text as well.  Also, I do not have anything when I expand the node for my dwg file within FME.  I thought I would have the attribute in here, but it is blank.  Here is what I see.   Here is how it looks in AutoCAD.  I would just like to bring in the point with the attribute text with it (Fl_#).   

I am attempting to insert a .cel from Microstation into a sequal database (GeoMedia) and the cell imports as multiple points evn though I have used the centerpoint replacer transformer? I'm not sure what setting is missing.  See below for an example of the input and output.  I have also switched the Cell Type: to Point in the .dgn

Hi there Does anyone know why i cant edit the Data Download Service properties? The "Edit..." is greyed out. I have the very simple demo workbench (from samples.zip) - textline input and text output - and need to set the reader to accept HTTP content. But when I go to Publish to FME Server, the Edit.. is not clickable. What reason would there be for that? Many thanks Doug 

Hello, I am creating SHAPE or MITAB file from ORACLE Spatial table. I am able to create MITAB or SHPAE from table. But I want to create empty file if there are no records in table. How can I do this?

How do I expose the LAS colour and intensity attributes?  They do not appear on the Reader.  Thanks.

Hi Guys, I convert a shape file in an autocad file and want to build areas which have different colors... i give the autocad_color the index of the different colors depending on an other unique attribute and the border lines of the areas has exactly this right color... but i have problems with the fill....the fill always (either i give an color in the dwgstyler or use these gradient_color format attributes) comes with the fill color red (which is the default color index 10 which is set in the destination format attribute) So how i can I do this that the fill of the area has the same color as the border line (autocad_color) has now?  Thank you and Greetz Franco

Hey guys, new to PostGIS world and looking for some input.  I've worked with Oracle and SQL Server in years past but always had DBA's who maintained "strict" control over their turf. Now that I consult on my own and am building my own systems in RDS on AWS Postgresql with PostGIS enabled is a no brainer.  I can successfully load, see, and manage my shapefile in the PostGIS. In fact, when I add the data back into FME as a reader is shows up flawlessly.  The issue I am having deals with ArcGIS. I get one of two errors depending on the innumerable amount of things I've tried. Mostly it's "The specified coordinate exceeds the valid coordinate range." The PostGIS database connection in ArcCatalog shows it as a "line" feature and the properties show the correct SRID.   Any help or feedback would be appreciated being new to the PostGIS world.  Thanks!

The following link (http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/Error_Unexpected_Behavior/FME-cannot-read-or-write-to-Esri-Geodatabase-license-error-messages) is describing this issue, but there is no details on how to really fix it, I am using ArcGIS 10.3 with a floating license and FME 2015 with floating license too, and I am still unable to Read or Write to Esri Geodatabase. On ArcGIS 10.2.2 and FME 2015 I can read and write Geodatabases whith the same types of licenses without any problems, Should I downgrad may ArcGIS products or what !! Any help is appreciated   Best Regards, Ahmad  

Hi All   I am completing a GIS (gml) to CAD (dwg) translation utilising a template file to bring in autocad blocks as point symbols. But I am experiencing two issues:   (1) When the DWG file is opened the extents are set as the same as the template file. Clicking zoom to extents will take us to the correct location of all the data. How can I set the output DWG to zoom to max extents of the data and not the template file?    (2) Imported autocad blocks from the template that are circle symbols change to Octagon shapes in the new DWG file - any idea why FME is chaging the underlying block?   Any ideas?   Thanks,   Mike

I have a workspace setup to read survey points from a csv file, and enter them into a geodatabase.  This is working well.  I am now wanting to capture the date that the point was shot.  I am using the 'Directory Path and Filenames' reader to get this attribute data, but I am not able to assign it to the records read in from my CSV reader.  Can I assign this value (date) to some variable, and then assign the variable to the attribute on the records that are being created?  I appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks.

I´m reading a .csv file but get an error at around row 57500 showing  "Python Exception <UnicodeDecodeError>: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xe4 in position 4: ordinal not in range(128)@Python failed to execute function `StatisticsCalculator.recordFeature' "  I tried to change the Charachter Encoding to utf-8 but then the rows got blank instead. What is it that I´m doing wrong? Is it the input to StatisticsCalculator that is corrupt? Or is it something from the csv-file?

I have a data conversion issue.  I'm updating a .DGN from GIS data.  The feature i'm trying to update is a line feature in GIS but has a specific .CEL file associated with it in the Microstation file so the feature looks the way it should.  I currently have the feature passing through a CenterPointReplacer (in order to associate the feature to a .cel file it needs to be a point) then a DGNStyler to choose the appropraite .cel file.  In the DGNStyler I choose FME_Rotation for the Cell Rotation but the cells still come in at the same angle.  I'm not sure if this is caused by the fact that i'm trying to rotate a point feaure? 

I'm looking for some guidance on what transformers to use to create a multi-page PDF map book based on a pre-defined grid.  I have a shape file that represents the page extents (the grid) with a page number attribute.  I'd like each page in the PDF to correspond to a grid square extent.  And each page should contain the page number from the grid shape file. Any guidance on which transformers I should be looking at would be much appreciated. Thank you!
