When installing FME Server 2022.2.5 b22795, i used the character '¤' in the PostgreSQL database password. The password was accepted and the installation finished without warnings or errors. Then, none of the FME Services would start. When looking for the configuration files, I noticed that server.xml was missing. I copied it from another installation wich made the FME Server Application Server start. The FME Server database service would not start still. After some troubleshooting, I decided to reinstall. When asked again for the password, for some reason, I used another password without the '¤' sign. After the installation, all services started up and the server.xml file was where it's supposed to be. I have repeated the procedure on a different machine with the same result. My guess is that the '¤' sign is approved by the FME installation program but not accepted by the database. I tried to install a python package in cmd, windows 10, but got error "This workspace requires a Python 2.7 interpreter". How do I make it use python 3.* instead? The same command worked for my colleague so something is wrong in my program setup. Hello,We install a second server FME to update the version. When this version will be ok, we will stop the old server. All is ok if we run the new server manually but it doesn't work when we want to run fmeserver like a service. 5 services is ok but the fmeserver-database.service doesnt work.  Have you an idea? Thanks

A question coming from an organisation with many machines installed with FME servers (40+). Next to the installation we also require a lot of time in configuration for the FME server deployments. We would like to automate deployment and configuration in the near future. We have found Ansible and Chef and also Kubernetes. With kubernetes we have succesfully deployed FME server on premise. The only major issue is the esri dependency of Arcpy scripts and SDE databases. Therefore we are looking for Ansible as a serious candidate for automation. We would like to automate as much as possible, not only because it saves times, but also to make sure all the machines are perfectly similarily deployed. Any tips or recommendations from other users/Safe software? Thanks in advance.

Need to install arcgis pro 2.9.5 on the FME servers so FME has access to ESRI projection engine. How I can proceed there is any documentation that what are the prerequisite and how to install.

I need to perform FME server (2022) silent installation in EC2 machine, do I need to create response file or there is any script that we can directly execute using cmd.

I'm very new to the concept of deploying things within a Docker environment. As far as I know, FME Server works perfectly fine with this but what about the interaction with FME Server after it´s up and running. Are you as a workspace author just uploading your workspaces like you do on a normal FME Server on a regular Windows plattform? Same with FME Projects? My second question is if there is a way to use Docker and Jenkins to install FME Projects instead of the normal way through FME Server Gui import/export. RegardsStefan

I was wondering where I can derive the path name where the user preferences are stored (such as color background white or black for example). I was looking at tools> fme options > default paths, but it seems it's not there. Where can I find it?

Hi eveyrone,I'm trying to setup a 3-tier installation and I can't find the required network ports used by each component. I have a communication error between the engines and the core.  Error communicating with FME Server host xxxxx-fme-engine. Hello ! We have 1 core server and 2 engines servers in 3 differents VLANs, all needed ports are open and tested but without an application job, the core server loses the engines independently after 2 hours maximum. We need to suppress the engines in the hosts section and to re-add it to restore the engine. We worked around network questions, we opened all ports for tests, around systems (applicative services still running), we tried to modify the fmeEngineConfig.tx but no way. Using the instructions, we were unable to use Chrome create the .cer file. We had to use Internet Explorer. In the Verify HTTPS configuration step, localhost produced an insecure connection although using the hostname produced a secure connection. How can this issue be corrected?

I have a couple of reasonably complex workspace that I have used the Worskpace reader to extract some data from. I have attached the image below to show where I am currently at. I have all the data but my question is "WHAT NOW", how do I use this data to it's best, and to explain what is going on in the workspace to the average person so it is understandable, and out put in a user friendly format. I thought someone may have some examples of what they did and how they used their data as documentation. I have watched the Video from tensing which was good but it really doesn't explain the how and final documents very well. Thank You.

I had an issue in on of my lower environments where the FME Server related services (Application Server, Server Core, Server Database, Server Engines) were stopped and switched to Local System Log On keeping the workbench from being able to access the necessary source data directories. I reconfigured the services to log on using the established service account and am now receiving the following error."There was an error submitting the job. COM.safe.fmeserver.api.FMEServerException: Could not load all queues due to connection issue to job router. Please try again."Has anybody experienced this and have a solution?

I have been given 2 accounts by my IT. my normal account, with locked license, I can't return the license because everytime I try to open fme desktop it shuts down itself. licenses are available. But, when I try to open fme desktop with my local admin account it opens just fine. BUT in license manager it shows as I am using 2 licenses?

I understand that the license server will check the licenses back in if it loses contact with the client, but will the client continue to function with its already checked-out license, or having lost the connection to the license server does it stop working until it has a valid connection to the license server again?

As usual, when a new version is released, I download both desktop, server, and engine, just in case.One thing puzzles me though: Why is the engine download so big (3.9g) ?It's 600Mb bigger than the full server (3.3g), and more than 2Gb larger than desktop (1.7g), which I would assume should be very similar in content to engine.What is the extra 2Gb of dead weight in the engine download ?Cheers.
