Hi.I just did an engine upgrade of my 2024.0.1 Flow instance to the very latest version 2024.2.1I then created a workspace in Form version 2024.2.0, and tried to upload it to Flow to test deployment parameters. But I get a warning stating, that Flow is older than Form, and the workspace is unrunnable on Flow. This is not good, as an engine upgrade is a nice way to keep Flow running with the latest version without the hazzle of major downtime and reinstallation. Why can’t the Flow 2024 UI handle engine upgrades, and why is my workspace blocked on Flow ?
Hi, I have observed when the workspace is executed through the FME Form, the log file is generated into the folder path mentioned under the Logging>Log File parameter. However when the same workspace is published on FME flow and executed through the workspace app, it does not generate the log file in the folder path. The user can only download it through the FME flow under jobs
Hello Everyone, I hope you are doing well. I ran the below scripts to set it to custom python interpreter. I would like to know the default settings for FME server to revert back to original settings ? Thanks,Naveen
Description:Currently, FME Flow does not allow defining a specific language for an FME Flow App. This results in browser auto translation functions also translating user parameter values. In some cases, this can cause confusion, especially when certain words are spelled the same in both languages but have different meanings. In FME Flow Apps, the lang attribute in the <html> tag is always set to 'en', and there is no option to change this value.Idea:Incorporate an option to select the default language of the FME Flow App or prevent the automatic translation of parameter values.Benefits:This would help maintain the clarity and accuracy of the information in the FME Flow APP, reducing potential misunderstandings.
Hi All,I’ve enabled versioning control in FME flow and connected it to our Azure dev ops repository.I can commit and push files to the master branch, but I can’t push to any other branch or sub-folder.cThis is an issue as we have 10 different FME Flow environments and all workbenches are being pushed into the same branch and repository. Is there any way to choose which specific folder or branch each FME flow instances connects to? Cheers
We are wondering which version of FME Flow will support ArcGIS Enterprise 11.5. Looking on the history in Notes on FME and Esri Versions and Compatibility I would guess it might be 2025.1?
Hi, our IT department have reported Apache Tomcat Vulnerability CVE-2025-49124 which impacts both our production and non-production servers running FME Flow 2024.2.1.Has anyone else reported this to Safe Software and is there a plan to provide a fix in 2025.1.4?DescriptionUntrusted Search Path vulnerability in Apache Tomcat installer for Windows. During installation, the Tomcat installer for Windows used icacls.exe without specifying a full path. This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.7, from 10.1.0 through 10.1.41, from 9.0.23 through 9.0.105. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.8, 10.1.42 or 9.0.106, which fix the issue.
Good Morning Safers, I am installing FME Flow 2021.2, and I wanted to check on the version of PostgreSQL I should be using, and the instructions on how to configure a provided a database server. As per Safe’s documentation, it seems I am looking at 11.13 but this version is long retired. I did find the following post that seems to indicate it is still compatible with 14: Have other discovered the same? Also, there doesn’t seem to be documentation about provided a configured database server. The documentation seems to indicate I would provide the scripts for creating the user and schema to the database administrator that are downloaded with FME Flow, but I am making assumptions. I did find the documentation from Barrie, but the FME Flow documentation provided by Safe only seems to go back to 2024: https://dis.barrie.ca/fmeserver/help/PDF-FMEFlowAdminGuide.pdfThank you Safers!
Hello Safers,I am currently planning on implementing a FME Flow server that I’ll need to use within an ArcGIS Enterprise that is federated. I understand based on the documentation that I need ArcGIS Server installed and licensed on that server before attempting to install FME Flow. This have I have already done. I’m now onto creating a site for this machine. I imagine this site would be federated with my ArcGIS Enterprise? We also have a separate server that contains all of our Web Adaptors. Would install the Web Adaptor the same as any other ArcGIS Server, and separately have the Apache application server install on my FME Flow? I would then use the aforementioned to create a reverse proxy so that external traffic is then routed onto our FME Flow server. Does this not effectively mean there are two different configurations: One to direct traffic to our ArcGIS Server site, and then another to our FME Flow Web Application Server?Basically, the question above is: I would configure my Arc
The FME Server docs do a good job of telling you how to uninstall and reinstall Server, whatever configuration you choose. However, if you want to migrate from last year's FME Server to the latest release, you have to backup and uninstall everything first. This might work fine for an Express install. But if you have a distributed install of FME Server, the server backup only contains the workspaces, repositories, services and supporting files from your last install. Your previous architecture's configuration isn't stored anywhere. How would you recommend backing up your previous distributed configuration settings (network locations, ports, service account names, etc) to make it easier to install the new release so you have the same configuration as before?
What is the process to access the database on the FME Server just so that we could have a trail of files that users ingested and the outputs that were generated? What are some of the best practices we can implement that can be helpful at the time of audit ?
Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Yesterday my site access for FME Flow worked fine and today it won’t work at all; I get 404 error. The only thing that seemed to occur between yesterday and today is a Windows Security update. Has anyone else experienced this? I have stopped/started all services; uninstalled the update and restarted the machine but nothing seems to work to get the site back up. I feel like rolling back to a backup is the only option. Thanks!
Hi FME community,I’ve recently been asked if FME Flow supports access via the Microsoft Entra application proxy. Has anyone configured this and can confirm it is supported?I believe it’s very similar to the setup explained in the documentation below, but I haven’t been able to find any documentation referencing the Microsoft Entra application proxy.https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407571916173-Use-a-Reverse-Proxy-with-FME-Serverhttps://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407364847885-Using-IIS-and-ARR-as-a-Reverse-Proxy-in-FME-FlowThanks!
Hi AllCurrently we are facing some weird issueWe have a FME workspace which is running fine in FME Form (2024.2.3 - 64 bit), we have published to FME Flow (2024.2.3) and when we ran the workspace from FME Flow, it started throwing below Ora error (changed ServerName & UserName values to XXX to hide)-“ Error connecting to Oracle database: message was `ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified'. (serverType=`ORACLE8I', serverName=`XXX', userName=`XXX', password=`***', dbname=`') “I have cross verified the below from my side on FME Flow (Windows Server) and I’m not sure what I’m missing, please suggest how can I overcome this issue in FME Flow.We are not connecting to Oracle using local naming (tnsnames.ora file) instead using LDAP TNSPING ServiceName - resulted correct response Ensured both Oracle Client 32 bit and Oracle Client 64 bit paths are part of ‘Path’ environment variable under system variablesFME Flow windows services (Application, Core, Database, E
Our Flow instance has more web connections than it should. That’s the result of allowing new connections without peer review. Now, one of our team members is leaving and I’m concerned his workspaces will use connections that won’t transfer. (We use Entra)Is there a way to find all the connections used in various workspaces (scheduled and on-demand apps). I don’t see a view for that in the individual workspaces, or I’d step through them all.Other than downloading and opening each workspace (~100), or deleting the connections to see what happens, is there a way?
When I installed FME Server, it is asking me for the name of the server which I specified. But when I register the license and the engines are started, they are listed as localhost_ENGINE1. Is there a way to change it the server name? What if I wanted to specify the engines to run with the server name, how do I do that at install?
I'm trying to install HighAvailamility setting (2 windows server , Oracle DB) fmeflow2023 windows (fme-flow-2023.0.0.3-b23319-win-x64.exe) Environment:2 FMEflow servers, Windows server 2022 standard editionsystem fileshare , Windows server 2022 standard edition fileserverOracle, Oracle 19c EE with Data guard Installion done fmeflow servers and it doesn't work.Trying to open web page (from local fmeflow server) it just give empty page with Fme:flow image. C:\\Program Files\\FMEFlow\\resources\\logs\\installation , folder is empty. Where to get help ? what is safe.com support address ?Is there any support from safe.com ?
I’m wondering is there a way to add like datetime stamps to the engine result zipped file name? I know this need to be unique but would be nice to add datetime stamps to it while have it remain unique.
We have an issue where a Workspace running on FME Server will not acquire an ArcGIS licence and we get the error message "Unable to perform any licensing related tasks. Please check your Esri ArcGIS Compatibility workspace parameter, found in Navigator -> Workspace Parameters -> Translation. This 64-bit version of FME requires ArcGIS Desktop along with 64-bit Background Geoprocessing; ArcGIS Pro; or ArcGIS Enterprise. Refer to this this article http://fme.ly/qua for more details" It seems the issue is related to user accounts and licenses used to run FME and ArcGIS, but I'm having trouble understanding how to set this up. I have tried with ArcGIS PRO 3.0.3 with Single User Advanced license or Named User Advanced License, FME Server 2022.2 with services running as either domain user with Administrator access or as a local user who is member of the local Administrator group. The FME Server and FME desktop versions match, Esri ArcGIS Compatibility is set to ArcGIS Pro.
Hi, I have installed ArcGIS Pro 2.9 and FME Workbench 2022 on my computer. I have downloaded arcpy-example.fmw from the website, but I could not get it to run. I changed my setting, so that python compatibility is set to Esri ArcGIS Python 3.7+. I kept getting an ERROR: A compatible ArcGIS application could not be found or is not licensed for Python Compatibility 'Esri ArcGIS Python 3.7+'I am unsure whether I would need an extra step to connect my ArcGIS Pro license to FME. In addition, my ArcGIS Pro is not authorized to work offline. I was wondering whether this was an issue. In addition, inside my ArcGIS, the Data Interoperability extension is grayed out. Is this the reason why I could not use Arcpy in FME desktop? My ArcGIS licensing shows that data interoperability is licensed on my ArcGIS. Do I need to install ArcGIS Data interoperability for Pro for it works? Thank you
Hello, I have FME Form and FME Flow 2021.2.Can I still use this version of FME with ArcGIS Enterprise 11.3?Is there a document outlining which versions of FME work with what versions of ArcGIS Enterprise?
Hello Safers,I am planning a FME Flow deployment, and have a question regarding the distributed tier 2 format. I wanted to ask for clarity: In the tier 2 distributed format, is installing both the FME Database and the FME System Share alright on the same machine? Or, is it required that these components are installed on different machines? I would like to install the FME Database on a machine designed for this purpose for our DBA to manage, but didn’t know if I also required another machine for the FME System Share. If that is the case, could I also install the FME System Share on a different drive on the machine FME Flow is installed? I realize this does not mitigate machine-failure, but would mitigate if drive failure occurred, Apologies for the basic question! This my first FME Flow deployment plan.I meant FME Flow System Share…typo in the title! Thanks!
If I’m going to truncating and overwriting a hosted feature service every day in ArcGIS Enterprise is it better to truncate, or drop and create?
Does anyone have a decent and free FME Desktop licence monitoring tool? At the moment, I have very little visibility how much of our licence we're using on a daily basis, and whether we're short of licences some of the time or more regularly. Two options I have tried, neither of which is ideal:Using the logfile on the licence server. This gives all the logins and logouts, and I assume even the attempts. But I don't have direct access to this file, so I need my IT department to send it to me on a regular basis. Plus, the first few lines of the logfile clearly state that it's not recommended for usage monitoring. The second option is described in https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Desktop_Admin_Guide/FMEInstallation/Monitoring_Floating_License_Use.htm , where you set up a lmutil command. This I can put in a batch file, which I can run at regular intervals, and then spits out a time-stamped text file. It kind of works, but as it's on my machine,
In FME(R) 2024.1.1.0 (20240729 - Build 24619 - WIN64) when connecting to FME Flow (same build), the download will only show the first 100 workspaces in a repository, any thoughts on why or workaround ? I know I can use the Flow UI to download, but using Form is way more efficient.
