FME Flow site down-Windows update?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Yesterday my site access for FME Flow worked fine and today it won’t work at all; I get 404 error.

The only thing that seemed to occur between yesterday and today is a Windows Security update. Has anyone else experienced this? I have stopped/started all services; uninstalled the update and restarted the machine but nothing seems to work to get the site back up. I feel like rolling back to a backup is the only option.

Thanks!

Perhaps refer to the following troubleshooting guide https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407364556941-FME-Flow-Troubleshooting-Guide and you’ll then no doubt end up on https://support.safe.com/hc/en-us/articles/25407421666957-FME-Flow-Troubleshooting-Web-Interface-Login and the initial troubleshooting section

  • Try logging in using a different web browser. You may also consider testing in a private window, emptying the cache or deleting cookies.
  • Try to login on the machine hosting the FME Flow itself. Is there any difference in behaviour when accessing using http(s)://<hostname>:<port>/fmeserver or http(s)://localhost:<port>/fmeserver ?
  • Try temporarily disabling any firewalls and check if you can log in afterwards.
  • Check the log files that may help identify errors for both the FME Flow and Tomcat. These can be accessed via the file system.

<FMEFlowSystemShare>\resources\logs\core\current\fmeserver.log

<FMEFlowSystemShare>\resources\logs\tomcat\catalina.log

  • Try enabling the web developer tools for your browser. Monitor the network status and identify if there is anything failing, hanging or timing out.

Hi @j.botterill ,

I appreciate the response. I have done the first few steps to no avail. I can’t get to the logs specified since I can’t get to the site. I have tried looking server side, but those logs are not under the path of resources\logs on the machine. The developer tools do not render any further information. Our IT Team has not rolled back yet; they are checking logs to see if something happened and such as a missing folder or permissions changed.

@j.botterill ,

Yikes! sorry, looking for logs before coffee, not advised! I found the logs on the machine. You were correct. So the fmeserver.log has not logged anything since 4/22/2025. But the catalina.log for 5/14/25 at 1am started showing some crazy stuff. Our IT Admin is looking at it now, may have been a memory leak. Thank you again.
