Workspace and the task scheduler

I’m attempting to get a workspace containing SQL Server connections to run as a windows scheduled task. It starts up but but errors out like so:Thus far I have: made my database connections public, built a batch file, given the task ‘highest privileges’, set the Start In parameter to the location of the batch and tried my own user account as well as the network admin.The workspace runs just fine from within FME or from the batch. The error only appears when launched from the scheduler.I realise there are several articles about scheduling tasks in the Knowledge Base and I think I've been through all of them but obviously I’m still missing something. FME server 202 header datastreaming

Hi all,For a SOAP interaction I need to reply in my FME server datastreaming a 202 header.An external company is sending me data via a datastreaming services, but they waiting for a 202 reply. In the workspace I save the data and process it, but I need to reply with a 202 for the external company to know I received the documents. The external company sends a post request to our FMEREST. The reponse page can be blank.My question is, how can I send out a 202 header with server (streaming)services?

FME 2017.1 Engine(s) shuts down/stops unexpectedly

I submitted a critical ticket for this, but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced engines shutting down and not coming back up for a long time or without manual intervention to reboot the service or FME engine service. We saw the error below 1 time yesterday on our test box engine, and I noticed it on 4 of our 6 production engines this morning after we upgraded.I'm seeing the following error in our engine logs:2017-08-16 10:27:08| 142.5| 0.0|INFORM|Handling FME Engine admin request: FME_ShutdownService2017-08-16 10:27:08| 142.5| 0.0|INFORM|FME Engine is shutting down

FME Server trial license get by offline mode can not be actived every time.

We applying FME Server trial licenses for our customer in China. And for the strict network management, we should only use offline mode. And we send the json file to codes@safe.com.Then it will auto return a license file, but this license file can not be actived. We have feed back this problem to safe many times ,but it still exist. This problem will influence our promotion of FME and it will take a long time to get every trial license. Can someone help us to answer and solve the problem?

Trial license lost in FME Desktop on Linux

Hi,I installed FME Desktop 2017.1.1.1 under Linux and have obtained trial license code. It worked within that session. However, after I restarted the computer, FME asked for a license again. On Windows, there is no such issue.Is this something expected? Any workaround?

"updated by who" attribute

Hey everyone,I'm looking to add an attribute that will list the username of the last person who ran a specific tool. Can this be done in text editor? I have added a date via @Timestamp, but I cannot figure out how to show who the last person was that ran the tool. Any suggestions?Any help would be greatly appreciated!Thanks!

Linux Server jobs restarts randomly (No message length returned in FME Engine reponse)

We have data intense rasterization workspace (which we can share via dropbox) using Mapnik. The workspace is run with Red hat 7 / FME 2017.1.1.1. The server has sufficient memory and cpu capabilities and it is working fine with smaller data sets. The desktop is also FME 2017.1.1.1 version and the fmeserver user has sufficient rights (root + https://knowledge.safe.com/articles/718/fme-server-troubleshooting-guide-testing-permissio.html ).Checked the logs and it reports "No message length returned in FME Engine reponse" and restarts. Can anyone help?

Corporate SSL Interception

I have a problem in FME Desktop 2017.1. My company uses a custom certificate authority to monitor TLS traffic. In Desktop 2016, I was able to modify the cacert keystore in $FME_HOME\\jre\\lib\\security\\cacerts and add our root cert. After that FME viewed our custom CA as trusted. In 2017.1, that does not seem to be the case. I went through the same procedure and added the cert to that keystore - but 2017.1 no longer appears to respect that keystore (or the windows system root certificates, where it is also installed and fully trusted). Did something change in 2017.1? Am I missing anything obvious?

FME Email account delivery failed

When starting FME Server services I get a 1068 error code, what does this mean?

When starting the FME Server core service, I get the following 1068 error:"Windows could not start Error 1068: The dependency or group failed to start" I've set all of the FME services to run as a service account, and when I swap it back to local system it's fine.

Does the FME desktop setting control the logging in FME Server?

Hi! I am using FME Desktop 2016.1 to publish workspaces to FME Server. I found that after I change the log settings in Tools menu-->Translation (for example, change to only log errors) and republish the workspace to FME Server, the log obtained by running it from FME Server will be different.It seems a little bit odd to me, and I wasn't able to find help file about this after trying, so I just want to make sure I understand correctly the way it works: will the FME Desktop publish its desktop settings to FME server? or it is my misunderstanding?Thank you!

Silent installation problems since version 2016

Hello,we used to deploy FME in silent mode using a so called NOVELL Zenworks Bundle. This worked fine up to version 2015. Since version 2016 we are having the following problems:1.) Novell Zenworks is not able to install the msi-file any more. It shows an undefined error.2.) Installing FME using msiexec on the client computer is possible in silent mode, but when you start FME the EULA-window and the FME Desktop Licensing Assistant window pop up, what we'd like to avoid because our students should no be forced to make any input in these windows.We use the parameters:qnINSTALLLEVEL 3ENABLE_POST_INSTALL_TASKS no Does anyone else have the same problem?Roland

Environment variable specifying temp directory when installing FME

I want to install the latest FME version, but (I assume to store temporary installation files) it tries to get acces to a location I do not have access to. I added FME_TEMP, but (for this purpose) does not make sense. Also modified TEMP and TMP environment variables to a directory I definitely have access to, but that also didn't help. Which environment variable is used to specify the temporary directory to store the installation files?

Why is the Licensing Assistant picking up my floating license when I have switched to a fixed license?

I have recently switched from a floating license to a fixed license and the licensing assistant is still picking up my old floating license. What can I do to resolve this?

Hello,  FME Server only seems to display a maximum of 100 scheduled tasks. We've got more than 100 defined so some are missing - is there any way to access these in the backend to edit them?  Thanks,  Peter.

I've heard of The Spatial Community Slack Channel and I know there is an FME YouTube Channel, but are there any other websites (forums, publications, etc.) that you frequent for sponging up FME knowledge or go to for FME help?

Is there another way we could deliver the installation options for FME Server?

You've been asked to install FME Server. First question you ask yourself, what does the IT department want? Is it an Express Installation or is it Distributed or maybe Customized installation. Do I install an Express first and later reconfigure a distributed database? Do I use an FME Server System Share on the network or locally? What are the advantages? Do I need a new user for the FME Services. The questions go on and the options are many, often leading to more questions. There are many ways to install FME Server and we do our best to share the documentation and articles to try to highlight the more popular and supported installation options. Do we cover all your questions? I'm personally curious to learn our user experiences when they are approached to install FME Server in a new environment. Could we make your job easier? Do you have suggestions on how we might present the documentation differently to help you make the best decisions for the installation d

FME server 2016 vs 2017

As we have FME server deployed externally, I have to make a trade off to either upgrade or skip a version.Big changes I found were: - GUI (less clicks) - Projects (export/import for better DTAP) - Security (AD)Do I miss any important changes, besides the upgraded FME Desktop functionality? (readers / writers / transformers)With these changes I tend to skip a version as nothing comes for free, please don't be offended dear Safers. I am very happy with the functionality in the 2016.1 package. As a technician I would love to upgrade but you know how it works...

Why does Windows 7 not have FME 2017 RC in the list of installed programs?

I want to install a newer version of fme but windows 7 does not have fme in it's list of installed programs. I can however run the program from the task bar so it is installed ok. Is there an unistall utility from SAFE? How can I uninstall fme otherwise?
