I can't seem to activate the floating license, any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure whether it will make any difference, but since it concerns the interoperability version, I am wondering whether you installed the 64-bit background processing?

Hi @superduperdave2, the symptoms of the issue you are experiencing sound very similar to this report. Please try following the suggestions posted on that thread, and let us know if that resolves the "FME not licensed." problem.

Hi @RylanAtSafe, I tried that solution with deleting the various directories but I still get the same "FME not Licensed" message. I also tried this running the IPV6 bat on the client side as mentioned here...https://knowledge.safe.com/idea/36924/fme-floating-licences-support-ipv6.html with no success. I've also tried stop/restart/re-read license with LMtools with the same result. I've ran the the flexnettroubleshoot bat on the server but I don't know what to make of the report, see attached.flexnetreport.zip

Hi @superduperdave2,

I've reviewed the FlexNetReport you attached. It looks like the license server host name has changed and it is now GIS3.

Could you

1) Delete any .dat files (local license files) from the following locations:

  • C:\\ProgramData\\Safe Software\\FME\\Licenses
  • C:\\Program Files\\FME\\licenses
  • C:\\Users\\\\Documents\\FME\\Licenses
  • C:\\apps\\FME\\licenses

2) Connect to the floating license using: GIS3:17001

This should hopefully work!

I have not installed 64bit Background geoprocessing. Now that I have, the Licensing Assistant worked. Thank you for that suggestion, it has been baffling me for several days now.

I installed 64bit background geoprocessing for ArcGIS. Licensing assistant is now able to locate the floating license. @RylanAtSafe @lars_de_vries
