Matching Values Between Attributes

Hi All,Not to be hyperspecific but i'm trying to match phase values between two attributes on the same feature. I have an electric transformer with a phase value, and I've joined the phase value of it's connected electric cable to the same feature. The phase values can be any combination of A,B, or C. For example, the electric transformer might have a value of AC, and the cable it's joined to has a value of ABC. I'm trying to find a way to test if the phase values of the transformer are contained within the phase values of the cable. I've tried setting up a tester and matching XFMRPhase - IN - PrimaryPhase, the inverse of that. I've tried removing the commas and testing the same. I've tried testing XFMRPhase - LIKE - PrimaryPhase and I keep finding results that don't match. For example, i'll find a transformer with phasing ABC, primary cable with phasing ABC as unmatched. I'm not sure what the best way to tackle this would be, but a nudge in

Socrata writer using calendar_date writes the schema but not the data. Changing it to text it works, but is not a date.

I am trying to upload to our Open Data site powered by Socrata. I did enough research that I saw I would need to change the data to something Socrata would accept. But if I tell the writer it is a 'calendar_date' field, the schema is uploaded, but no records are created.

Clipping large ECW

Hi,I want to clip a large ECW file which is about 2 GB in size. It consist of aerial imagery around a river in my country.Secondly I have a shapefile which is the river body. Now I want to clip my ECW with this shapefile. See the attached figure as illustration.I foresee that just clipping the ECW with this shapefile will take a long time. Do you have any advice to speed up this process?I was thinking about the following:- Use RasterTiler and create an attribute which will function as a Group By attribute in the clipper. I hope this will make it possible to perform parallel processing within the clipper?-Use 'Clippers first' and drop my shapefile reader at the top of my readers. I saw this suggestion elsewhere at this forum.-Not all features in my shapefile overlap with my aerial imagery. Maybe I could filter them before entering the Clipper.Thanks for you help in advance!

Line entities no longer appear in the output Dwg file under FME 2018

Hello, I have made corrections to a Dwg file, except that in the output Writer, my lines have disappeared, it no longer appears in the output Dwg file. All other block type entities are displayed except the line type entities. However the missing lines belonging to the layer EP_GEOREF_SOUT_GAINE_PLEINE (190 entities) appear well in the transfer but it does not appear in the output dwg. Do you have a solution or the parameter which makes it possible to display the lines in the Dwg in output writer? thank you in advance

How to export WFS files to Blender? Tried OBJ and FBX.

I'm in a serious dead end - whatever I do, I can't export files with FME that would show in Blender. I have tried to export both in OBJ and FBX, but they don't appear. I can import the file, but nothing shows. My original file is in WFS format and looks just like it is suppose to in the FME data inspector. When I create a writer it makes the files and they appear in the folders they are suppose to. However when I try to open them with Blender, Unity or with Autocad I can't see any buildings that I exported. I can just see the contollers, looks like empty game/3d object. Can someone share their workflow when importing to blender 2.8? Is there some tickbox or selection that I should use? Oh the same file OBJ file I have managed to open with 3D Builder, but the 3D builder asks me to locate every singe texture surface (over 20 in one element) separately. Does this give any hints what I'm doing wrong with OBJ conversion? I only used the 3d builder for testing and I nee

What is the purpose of the extra xsi_nil attributes from a GeoServer WFS source?

Can anyone explain the purpose of the extra xsi_nil attributes that accompany a Web Feature Service (WFS) data source?For example, when I create a WFS reader in FME for the topp:states demo layer of a stock GeoServer, the resulting table schema in my FME workspace includes extra attributes - one for each native attribute - named <attribute>_xsi_nil. Here's a screenshot highlighting the fields in question:The data type for all of these xsi_nil fields is xml_boolean. This happens for all WFS layers I consume from a GeoServer.What is the purpose of these extra fields?And is there a way to configure the reader - or the GeoServer layer - to not cause these extra fields to be created?Thanks

So, I've created an server app that sometimes posts very large datasets and have so far been able to restrict access to the data by just emailing the dataset back as an attachment (user email as parameter)(its not super safe, but safe enough - the data isn't super sensitive but sensitive enough). I've thus been able to restrict the data to the person running the server app by letting the person enter their email and get the data back that way. But now the datasets is growing kinda fast and the email client isn't putting up with 20-50 megabytes of attachments. So I read that it was possible to get the server app to respond with the download link (again not super safe, but safe enough). So: how do I do that? What parameter carries the data download link from server apps? Or, it doesn't work that way? (in wich case I'd have to do a workaround, and nobody likes workarounds :-) Been searching and trying for several hours without luck. Tried the ServerNotifier and the

correct settings for feature reader from a list?

Good evening, I have two shapefiles, which I want to merge with each other and then continue working with the partial results. One shapefile contains the boundaries of the municipalities and the other shapefile contains the BoundaryBoxes of the LAS tiles. Since the amount of data is too large, I want to process the data community by community.The tiles marked in blue contain the names and paths of the individual LAS tiles in an attribute [ID]. In my Workbench I perform a spatial selection using the SpatialRelator. For this I connected the shapefile with the information of the LAS tiles to the supplier port and connected the community boundaries to the requester port. .As a result, I get a list of all elements that contain the community (like the tiles marked blue in the first picture). To check if the selection is correct, I exploded the list with the Listexploder. The result is correct and so far everything is clear.Next, I want to read the 22 selected tiles, which are stored in the

Geocoder Transformer with our In-house Nominatim Server, only One Line Address

Hello,We have set up an in-house Nominatim OpenStreetMap geocoder service and we would really like to use it with FME to geocode 100k+ addresses. The problem I'm having is the data is split up into "Street" "city" "Zip" etc and it would be a difficult additional task to constantly be concatenating them. For some reason the Geocoder is only allowing for Street Address in the Transformer. Is there a way to get this to recognize multiple address fields. Thanks!

Spatial query wont fetch geometric data

Hi all I'm about to make a spatial query from two tables. One is a SQL-Creater with a MSSQL Spatial driver. The other is a WFS with polygons. (I have to read from MSSQL by SQLCreater because of a complex nested query that won't fit into the MSSQLSpatial Reader. I've tested the query in MSSQL Server Management Studio and it works just fine with geometry attached). I've loaded the PointOnAreaOverlayer, however it doesn't seem to fetch the GEOMETRI-column in which the geographic data is. Is it a setting in the SQLCreater or in the POAO that has to be made for it in order to make a spatial join?

Uploading a Zipped shapefile to SFTP server on a schedule

Hi,I'm working on creating a workspace with ESRI Geodb reader(or Feature reader) and writer for creating zipped shapefiles (with dynamic naming convention to zipped shapefile like yyyymmddhh_export for every run on schedule). The idea here is to have 'yyyymmddhh' dynamically updated for filenames whenever it is created on a schedule.Finally upload those files to SFTP server on a schedule.I've tried this in FME 2019.2 with using FeatureWriter and ZipArchive transformers, but not quite there yet. Finally to upload to SFTP, not sure if FTPCaller is better option or Automation with 'Upload to SFTP' action is viable options. Please suggest if any ideas. Thanks!

Empty tables when writing

Hi FME Community I have encountered an issue that I cannot find the solution for. I have a Reader -> Writer setup. Reading from a MSSQL db and writing to a Postgres. When reading the table and making a preview, everything looks as it should be. Then I run the transport and looking at the preview of the writer after a successfull termination of the task. And this is what I see Even though I've made a Scheme called 'dbo'. and the DB-connection setup is successfully connected. The table isn't to be found in the PG-db. I've encountered this a couple of times, especially when writing to databases, however I cannot find any consistency in when it will or won't populate the tables. I've tried to make a transformer inbetween, sometimes it works, sometimes it won't. Sincerely

Create Google Maps Traffic equivalent

Hello FME community!I am working on a project to identify traffic congestion within our mining operations. My data source includes GPS points of all vehicles and I have done the work to 'connect the dots' of all GPS points to create speed segments. As you can see in the image below, I now have traffic routes for each individual vehicle.What I am trying to do now is create a "Median Line" for each side of the road, by determining the median value for the segments within a certain distance (i.e. 100m), just like the Traffic layer in Google Maps. My thoughts are to use a "Line Splitter" to split each segment into 100m parts, and then "Nearest Neighbor Aggregator", followed by a "List Exploder", then an aggregator to calculate the median.Input: Desired output:Any suggestions here would be awesome!Thank you!

How to remove boundary which is fillup with solid in google earth?

Hi, I am new to FME and am excited to get started. I have a task that should me simple, however I am not sure how to go about it. Here i attached one picture where the White color is full of my study area. I do not want to see this color. I have to inform that i make a boundary to my dxf file when it is converted in kml file may thats why it is full of White color in my study area beacuse other part is not fyllup with white color.Do you have some good solutions?Thanks!

Is there a way to populate parameters before opening a work space?

I am having some issues with the 2020 install and i have had to move over to a different PC. I migrated everything fine, but when i open the workspaces, the first thing that occurs is the feature readers try and find the old database and then drop all the feature types that were previously being read. Some of these have 10 or more specific features, all with multiple links so it will take a long time to try and re-link them in, is there any way i can change the parameter without opening it, then open it up?

How let the clipper to work first at my workspace before the workspace starts to read another data

i would like to ask ,after i read my data from reader .i have around 8 reader and i would like the first reader that reads polygon to start processing through some transformers and stop when it reachs clipperbut i found after it reads the data ,it did not pass through the first transformer and the workspace continues reading the data from another readers and after all readers finish ,it comes bk to continue work on this reader for polygon .what i would like exactly,i need to extract the data from the first reader and continues till it reaches clipper and wait another data .because,i think that clipper is working at end of my workspace so it takes too much time to process . i read some articles about runtime order but i think it is only working for creators that has no input if i understood correct but if i have transformer with input .How could i let this transformer work before another path .as featuremerger and clipperi hope , i can get solution for my problem .i have another questio

Merging and splitting of a linear network from a Dwg file under FME 2018

Hello, Would you be how to merge the linear array of a Dwg file to form a single polyline. I had thought of NetworkTopologyCalculator I do not know what you think? After having combined (merge) the linear network all together, I have to put it in the same direction and after that I cut it at the points that belong to the layers of my Dwg file that I specify. I would tend to use Linecombiner or LineExtender. If you have an idea of how to proceed I am a taker? In all thank you in advance for your help.
