How to configure SQLExecutor to connect to correct database at run-time?

For one user, SQLExecutor is correctly changing to connect to DEVSQL\\High at run-time. For another user, the default parameters specified in the SQLExecutor (QASQL\\High as shown above) are being used. What user configuration setting needs to change in order to correctly grab the same database as user #1 is getting?

How to convert excel Gauss Kruger coordinates to UTM?

Hi, not sure where else to ask this (first time poster).I have a large amount of coordinate data (only know the coordinates in Gauss-Kruger and the zone (zone 3)). Is there any way I can mass convert these coordinates to UTM? I've been researching this all day and have came across a few helpful research articles and one finished with a website that was created by a team of researchers using R and Shiny software, but the link was dead and I don't have time to recreate their work.I do not need to put them into a GIS, this data is being recorded in an rdb for analysis purposes, but is still very reliant on LOCIIDs.

How can I calculate upstream watershed area?

Dear all, I am currently working on a project where I assess watershed areas upstream of several ditches. The area is a polder area (no significant internal differences in elevation) with flow direction somehow incorporated into the ESRI shapefile (see arrows in below figure), no clue how. In the end, all ditches lead to the red star. I have aready calculated the watershed area for each individual ditch. The next step would be to somehow add a column in my shapefile where all upstream watershed area's are added together to find the 'total watershed area' that provides the water flowing through the ditches.Some things to note: - Some ditches split into 2 other ditches. These, we assume, both get 50% of the water that flows from the upstream 'parent' ditch - Dark blue lines and lighter blue lines are major- and minor channels/ditches, and can be regarded as similar in function - Arrows show the direction of flow in all ditches - Since the area is a flat polder, elevat

Converting UTC datetime to CET/CEST

Hi,I'm trying to convert UTC datetimes to CET/CEST but can't find the way of getting a datetime that takes into account the Daylight Saving Time differences. The local settings of the DateTimeStamper or @TimeZoneSet function are of no use because the workspace is run in an FME Server where the local time is UTC.Thanks a lot in advance! Francisco

dwg coordinate system not being recognized 2019.2

when I view the drawing in map3d the cs is listed. When i view the dwg with arccatalog i can see the same CS. however when i add it to workbench it is not being recognized.I am trying to set up a dynamic workbench to re project coordinates dependent upon the cs of the reader being used. Is there a way to get the autocad cs and set that to a published parameter?

Issue with FeatureWriter (CSV)

Hi all, I'm working with FME Desktop 2019.2 and I have encountered a problem with the FeatureWriter. I need to save features in a CSV file and I want to use FeatureWriter settings to manage escape char and to qualify field values only if needed. Below the settings used.The problem is that FeatureWriter doesn't qualify a string value like the following:- Lorem ipsum dolor "sit amet"While it works correctly with a string like the following:- "Lorem ipsum" dolor sit ametThe CSV file created by FeatureWriter using the two string above is:"Test_2","Test_1""""Lorem ipsum"" dolor sit amet",Lorem ipsum dolor "sit amet"

Empty value converting JSON to Arcgis Online Feature Service

Hi All. I am working on fme workbench to convert json data from api into Arcgis online feature service. FME Server APp - send parameters in URL?

Hi All I have a workspace which I have shared in FME Server 2019. I would like to use this as a basic data entry form for end users, so have created published parameters for the attributes which need to be completed.What I would like to do is pass through some attributes from another system (PowerBI), which I can use to dynamically set the URL for accessing the workspace.In JobSubmitter mode this is fine, I can set the published parameters in the URL. But this doesn't fulfil the use case, because I want the user to add some additional detail to what is available to pass through from PowerBI. Hence I'd need to use an FME Server App.My question is: can set the published parameter values on the App using query strings in the URL, like I can with JobSubmitter? If so, what is the correct syntax? Thanks in advance...Riley

Can I rename or remove duplicate field names?

I have a dynamic workbench that reads shapefiles and exports them to a FGDB. I have a .shp that had a few duplicate field names and wouldn't export to FGDB until I removed them. Is there a Transformer that will flag these duplicate fields and remove or rename them?

FME Server directory watch: the workspace triew to run for every file copied to the directory even though all the files were removed the first time the workspace ran.

I have FME Server setup to watch a directory where JPGs are dropped by users. When the watcher detects a JPG it runs a workspace that moves all files found to a different folder (post process). FME Server seems to be trying to run the workspace over and over again even though the files were removed by the first run. All attempts after the first fail and another instance is added to the cue. I'm not sure what the cause is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

CSV file does not show up in the folder

Hi there, I am writing the output of FME translation in csv file using csv writer. However, I noticed that file does not show up in the selected folder. I tried to change the configuration of the CSV writer. But no luck. Couldn't anyone tell me where am I making the mistake? The attached file shows the parameter of CSV writer.

ArcGIS Server Feature Service Reader Timeout

I'm using an ArcGIS Server Feature Service Reader to read in flood hazard polygons but it keeps timing out, returning zero features. There are no errors or warnings in the log and the workspace keeps running after the reader times out. There are about 3 million features in the entire dataset (for the United States). I only need two states (New Mexico and Texas) but even clipping to a search envelope on the reader makes no difference. It's a publicly available service, no login required. What can I do to successfully read in the features from this service?

Specify which point is used for colorization with NumericRasterizer

Hello,I've made a FME to raterize some point cloud into elevation raster but I'm not satisfied with the result. I would like to be able to specify in the transform parameters which point is used to color the raster (min z, max z, etc ...). Indeed when we have power lines for example it is desirable that the point used for coloring is that of the line and not that of the ground. This makes it possible to highlight it in the Raster.Do you know if there is a way to control the coloring in this way? Example :That is what FME give me (left) and what I want (right)You'll see the difference on wire and tree Regard,Arnaud

Read a file containing user variables

I'd like to read a text file containing several lines of user defined variables given in the following format:var_name = "var value"There are many lines, each one contains one single variable with one single value:var_name0 = "var value0"var_name1 = "var value1"... I read the text file using an AttributeFileReader to which I connected an AttributeSplitter. My results come as one single concatenated line which is obviously not what I want. In the Delimiter field of the latter, I tried inserting `\n` `\r` or`\r\n` without any success. I also tried inserting a single newline by pressing one time enter in the "Editor" as discussed here (2013): https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/2361/use-attributesplitter-with-a-carriage-return.html without much success. I'm using FME(R) 2020.0.0.1 (20200316 - Build 20202 - linux-x64) on Ubuntu 18.04. Thanks.

Job Queue Won't Start?

I think we're pretty much 97% through an installation of FME Server in production, but we can't seem to login. When we checked the log files, it seemed to point to the Job Queue not starting up properly. There's also a redis process that seems to be running that shouldn't be? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, Thanks,Van

Is there a way to create osm Boundarys out of oracle Data?

First of all sry for my bad english! ;) I like to recreate the osm scheme out of our own scheme with FME Desktop We'v got lines transformed with the keys:boundary=administrativeadmin_level=3-8 and combined lines with the keys:osm_relation_type=boundarytype=boundaryboundary=administrativename=*admin_level=3-8 My Problem is the FME osm-writer creates his own geometries without the line-tags but i'd like to get my own created lines as a member of the Relations.

Hey everybody,recently I'm getting into converting 2d autocad plans into a simplified 3d model. So far I'm able to create a model. Now i have checked the tutorial of @daveatsafe in converting a dwg to ifc with rooms but I'm still having a question.How do I write the autocad layer property to an ifc file that I use in BIM dwg. Because at this moment whatever I'm trying I'm getting all the entities on layer 0.Thanks in advance,Andreas

How to write 3D SHP polygons as 3D CAD hatches?

I'm trying to convert a bunch of building wall tiles from SHP to DWG. The tiles are already polygons, but I coerced them into fme_polygon anyway. Then I use the DWG styler, with Area: Hatch, Fill Pattern: SOLID. The Inspector shows what I expected, however when I write the data, what I actually get in AutoCAD is just line-thin hatches, with some even missing. Also, when I open the file in the inspector, it just shows the lines on the ground, or everything got flattened.. do I need to manipulate the data further? I figured I could leave it as polygons, but AFAIK AutoCAD still interprets those only as the boundary lines, i.e. not opaque surfaces.

How to select feature types from two data sources using one published parameter in dynamic reading?

Hi there! I have an FME Workspace with two dynamic readers for two data sources with different schema names (or no schema name at all). As the content of both data sources use a very similar data model, with only the schema name different, it would be user friendly to select the feature types only once using one Published Parameter called "FEATURE_TYPES" and not to have (as I have now) two Published Parameters called "FEATURE_TYPES_1" and "FEATURE_TYPES_2" For example: in the File Geodatabase the fme_feature_type has the value "pGreen". In PostGIS the fme_feature_type has the value "Name_schema"."pGreen". Now I select twice the same objects using two separate Published Parameters . Is it somehow possible, within one FME Workspace, to use a single Published Parameter "FEATURE_TYPES" to read both "pGreen" and "Name_schema"."pGreen"? Is there a trick?

I need to find all empty folders. Any hidden system files do not count (for example, Thumbs.db). I tried using Python, but unsuccessfully. Using fme_feature_type to group by

Hello! I am working at the moment on several FME Workspaces that can process data with as little manual manipulation as possible. In general just a file is selected, and from the data and its schema, automatically whole schema's in databases are created, filled, and further processed for further use. Obviously dynamic readers and writers are used. Now I have a Challenge to recognize existing objects based on spatial relations, new data and existing data from a central database. There are several approaches here: 1. to compare geometries on basis of coordinates. A SpatialFilter could give for example possibilities there;2. to do a fuzzy selection under the asssumptions that (point) objects in the field survey have been recognized but may not have exactly the same position. A NeighborFinder could here for example give solutions there. In an inital approach I tried to use the SpatialFilter and NeighborFinder and to use the "Group by"-functionality using the attribute fme_fea

FBX file read with texture mirrored

Hi all,I'm trying to read an .fbx model exported from Infraworks. It appears in the data inspector with textures mirrored and the following warning : "FBX_1: A texture used by mesh in node 'Mesh N' references a UV set named 'default', which doesn't exist"I've tried to re-mirror the appearance but nothing seems to work and I don't know how to reference the UV set ...
