Is there any easy way to add a date stamp to output file names when using the FeatureWriter? I am outputting Excel files that have multiple tabs with multiple separate inputs, from multiple data sources. The only way I could figure out how to do this without the FeatureWriter splitting up the different feature types into separate files is to add the DateTimeStamper to each data source, make sure it is kept all through the Workspace, and then take off the _timestamp attribute from each Feature Type in the Attribute list on the FeatureWriter. What a pain! Surely there is a better way? I tried to create a User Parameter, but it did not work. Any hints on this?  Thanks, -L

I have what I hope is a simple question. I'm using a Where clause in my Esri Geodatabase (SDE) Writer. One of the criteria I'm using in my Where clause is that a jurisdiction matches a value being passed in using a User Parameter. This value "jurisdiction" parameter has a comma in it (which I think is the problem). When I manually type the Where Clause in as Jurisdiction = 'SomeName County,St' it works no problem. When I pass the parameter (I.E. "Jurisdiction = '$(parJurisdiction)') with parJurisdiction set to the exact same value I get:  "Unclosed quotation mark after the character string 'SomeName County))' Any suggestions as to how to solve this problem would be appreciated.  Thank you.K

For example:  I have an external table that has regions for column headings (North, South, East, West) and part numbers for row headings (Part#001, Part#002, Part#003, Part #004,...). A part number in a specific region has a cost as shown in the in the image.  Also, I have another table with the attributes Region and Part Number in FME.  I want to make a new attribute that searches the external table based on the two attributes in my FME table: region and part number and returns the cost. How can I do this?

I'm sure this will be something really simple I am overlooking (as usual!)I have some excel data of personal information, including age.I need to:1.       group ages, 0-17, 18-25, 26-35, 36-45 and so on.2.       count how many each category / group has.3.       Display data in ExcelFor point 1, I have used the Attribute Range FilterThis gives these resultsSo far so good! For point 2, I use the statistics calculator to do the total count of each group:Then into Attribute manager to rename the columnFor point 3, I would like it to ultimately look like this desired output: However, when I use the Excel writer with these settingsI get this result, I've highlighted yellow where I have gaps that I don't like, and I can only get the age groups to appear as column headings.What do I need to do to obtain the desired output?Many thanks for any help you can give.RegardsStu

Hi,  I have a user parameter where we are entering raw text in the format of:\\gis\scripts\FME_Projects\Production\Staging Folder\bulk_geopackage.gpkg  The first time this parameter is used is in a featurewriter transformer:Then when I look at the path it is passing through the output, you will notice one of the slashes has been reversed...Any thoughts as to why this is happening at this point?

When I run my spatial filter with the entire dataset the filter fails but if I run using partial data the dataset it works. Does anyone know why this would happen?Note: Spatial Realtor works but not the spatial filter.

Hi guys,im using a CSV file + feature reader to manage SDE feature classes get read into my workbench. In this csvI also have a list of filter and attribute to keep/rename for each of these layers, im wondering what's the best practice to do this - is there an easy way i can apply my csv file rather than repeating tester / attribute renamer for each layer? thanks guys as always!

The netcdf format is new to me. I have created a multiband raster with 50 bands. Each band contains values for 1 day. My workflow looks like this: The sampler to the left is for testing only and lets 7 bands go through. The listbuilder creates a list of values for the 'days_since' variable. I want to use these values in the writer for the 'netcdf_band{}.coordinate_variable{}' port.How do I apply this as a list? At the moment I have to apply them individually day for day in the attribute manager before the writer.This works but is obviously not scalable. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated - I have thousands of bands to include! :)

Hi!! I've got a problem in FME Desktop 2022.2 that I did not have in FME Desktop 2021.2 I have a workflow that makes POST request to ArcGIS Print Service in order to get an image of a map. We upgraded version and this workflow it doesn't work right now. It shows the following error:  "The encoded string is not a valid fme-wwjd string" The content of this string is a JSON that I need to do my request. As I sayd, the same workflow it works on version 2021.2Does anyone has any idea what happen?

I'm using the HTTPCaller to read in an MDS data feed that I would like to convert to an AGOL line feature by connecting the points together from the "route" attribute. I'm able to extract the attributes for each trip in the dataset using the JSON Fragmenter and JSON Extractor, but I'm getting stuck on creating the geometry. How can I take each point coordinate from a trip and connect them into a line and keep the trip attributes associated with it? Example of the JSON format is attached. 

Why does featurewriter hang when I import featuretype from dataset? Is this a bug?  FME Flow Version: FME(R) 2023.1.1.0 (20230928 - Build 23631 - WIN64)Windows Version: Windows 10 Pro for Workstations (Build 19045.3693) I add a FeatureWriter to the canvas.I open its configuration dialog.I set the format as Microsoft SQL Server Non-SpatialI set the connection one of the Database Connections I have saved in FME.I click the drop down menu below the Feature Types input port list and select Import from Dataset...I select the table from the dialogs.The table attributes are loaded and the table shows up in the Feature Types input port list.I close the dialog and the FeatureWriter transform is now not accessible and immovable. I am able add other transformers, readers, and writers, but if I resize the Flow window, the window panes do not resize with the window.

I've always had a hard time with XMLUpdater, but it usually ends up working. This time I just can't make sense of the errors and how to solve it. I have two XML, I want to take elements from one of them and use those elements to replace the elements in the other XML.  If I take the exact text from the XML-fragmenter at create an attribute containing just that, the XMLUpdater accepts it and produces the expected result.If the XMLUpdater is part of the same flowpath as the XMLFragmenter the XMLUpdater will throw an error.I even tried putting it into a new attribute with different datatype. Can that be right?? The attached workspace is made in FME 2023.2 but the error is the same in FME 2022.2.Any help or ideas is appreciated.

I'm have the following error:An error occurred while attempting to open an insert cursor on the table 'SurveyedGeneralLawn'. The error number from ArcObjects is: '-2147216556'. The error message from ArcObjects is: {Objects in this class cannot be updated outside an edit session [GisGeoDbMaint.ASSET.SurveyedGeneralLawn]}It seems to be with a relationship class with attachment TABLE. When i remove the relationship it work fine. I only want to insert records into the feature class and the attachment table. I have two seperate features classes - holes and polygons. I simply want to merge them with disolve by grouping by a certain id. However output has lines at the border of the holes. How can i get rid of them? Holes are brown and Polygons are pink in the picsAfter dissolve This is before dissolve

I am sending this date, Oct-23, through the DateTimeConverter. I have set t he input format as %b-%y2099. Hello I'm currently transforming a GeoTiff in a point raster using centerpointreplacer. I have a grid of points every 100m.The next step is to add 8 attributes for the 8 neighbours (or less if the point is on a border) and in each attribute set the slope from this point to the neighbor [in %].I have z values for each point, I don't know how to get the distance between 2 points and how to add the attributes according to the neighbors.Maximum distance for neighbors: @sqrt($(Resolution)^2 + $(Resolution)^2) * 1.1  Thanks,Antoine

The second image represents the two input layers. It is possible to see that there are shifts between the layers. Following the AreaOnAreaOverlayer (fig. 2), “intermediate” polygons are created. I performed a TestFilter to identify polygons <= 1. Now, I would like to dissolve polygons less than or equal to 1 on the rest of the polygons according to a specific attribute (OBJECTID_CAD). Indeed, I would like to respect as much as possible the geometry of one of the two layers (which was created by surveyors).

I have a column of health conditions for individual patients.Often patients have multiple health conditions. If they have more than one, then the conditions are seperated by a ; (Some patients have up to 5 separate conditions)I need to find out how often individual health conditions feature. ie how many times is "Arthritis" listed as one of the health conditions? I've used the Attribute Splitter, using the ; as the delimiter. This creates a list of the health conditions, I've named the list "Health_Conditions". I now want to find out the number of times each health condition appears in the list / exposed values of the list. ie how many times does eg "Arthritis" appear? And how many times does "Diabetes" appear?  Note: From the screen shots below you can see health conditions can appear in any of the exposed value lists{} I've tried Statistics Calculator, Counter, ListHistogrammer but can't get the result I am looking for.
