Hello friendly FME Community! I'm trying to implement a GeoFencing service which will calculate the time spent by vehicles in particular areas. In short, I have a set of points (with timestamps) and set of polygons (geofences) against which I want to calculate how long these points were inside these polygons.  I did make a workspace which does this using SpatialFilter (which identifies if points were inside polygons) StatisticsCalculator which calculates min and max timestamps and DateTimeCalculator which calculates the interval between this min and max timestamps. The problem is that vehicle can move out of all polygons and then get back which will distort the calculation as the period that vehicle was outside the polygon will be included because last timestamp will be inside the polygon. Is there any trick or technique in FME which allows to follow up these gaps and exclude them from calculation described above? Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Hello, I asked the above question in the New To FME forum, but no takers. Lets see what happens here. My goal is to join CAD wall lines that are collinear and have a gap where the door is located (usually 36"). The LineBuilder does not have a conditional option.  Two ways I can think of pursuing are:Group collinear lines that have a gap of 36" between end-point of one line and start-point of another. Lines have all been changed to a positive vector, so end-points are followed by start-points on X or Y axis.Use the CAD Door layer to locate prospective lines. These door symbols are blocks with an insertion point at the hinge. Very standard. Here is a screenshot, attached, of a typical hallway. There are large gaps which should be ignored and others that are approx. 36". On the left, you see two door setbacks. It is not a problem to separate horiz and vert lines if needed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,@larue

Hi, I have a workbench that processes data of X number of rows. At the conclusion I would like to send an email to summarise what was done. I would love something like: Hi Ben,  We have just updated the table with 32 new rows. Here is a summary of the data added: ASSET ID | NAME | DOB 150 | Ben | 02/02/1992 151 |Tony | 01/01/2001 .... .... 183 | Michelle | 03/03/1983I have added a statistics calculator to my workbench, this is currently able to give me the summary (total number of rows) to include in the opening sentence, but I am not sure how to add the 32 rows to the email, formatted as a table. I know this has to be such a simple task, I just cant work out how to do it! Thank you.    

I get the following error when I feed XML as an attribute from the XML updater. Reading in an XML file is no issue though.This FME edition does not recognize the `' function. Please ensure that the current platform supports this function, the function name is spelled correctly, and that you have installed all required plug-ins 

So apparently, FME does look for fields that might be a good candidate for creating a point geometry in both Excel and CSV readers (see https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080hfENSAY/excel-format-of-attribute). This means that if in an Excel or CSV file, there is a row with column names such as X and Y, FME will automatically try to create a point with the contents of these cells. In the top-rated answer of the above link, it is mentioned that for the CSV reader, this will only occur if the option "Scan for types" is activated. This option does seem to be missing for the Excel reader, though, or am I overlooking something? I have the problem that I am using a FeatureReader to dynamically read from an Excel file (the specific file is only known at translation time, not before) and FME unwantedly tries to create point geometries for the features. The sheet of the Excel file might contain X and Y columns, but these are usually empty and surely not any spatial data. Nev

I have an automation that is triggered when the user enters a record into a database. When that job fails, it would be helpful to have a link directly to the job details in the log file. When the job fails, it sends a failure notification email from an FME workbench that is part of the automation flow. It does this via the emailer transformer. Is it possible to add a link to the log file for the specific jobs that are triggered? Is it better to do this inside or outside of the workbenches inside the automation? Thank you

This is not a real question, it's more an assesment. In FME 2022, it seams that every query run with SQL Executor/Creator is run as a prepared statement (see here for more information on PostgreSQL https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/sql-prepare.html). The problem is that only certain query can be prepared, not every one...Some of my queries can not work anymore like every "CREATE" queries that can not be prepared into PostgreSQL. Is there a way to disable this behaviour ?  For me it's a critical problem because some times we need the queries to be run as we write them, not like the database want to redefine them.

We have one floating licence and it is now stuck on an old laptop and won't release it. Can I force it to release either from the device or from the licence server?

Hi, see the attached, I'm reading MVT Tileset and want to fan out the output file GDB dataset on zoom level and fanout the feature types too on fme_feature_type, I get an error saying the schema doesn't have the correct element, but it does! All help appreciated. The fmw is self contained, it downloads MVT tilesets (not too big).The error at write time is:ERROR |Esri Geodatabase Writer: Feature Type Definition 'bl' was requested, but not defined. I have a Fault Tolerant installation of FME Flow that includes a load balancer. I need to use IMAP email protocol to receive emails from FME Flow. ​I have created an automation and want it to send an email if succeeds. In the Automations screen - Email Details, I choose Actions - Send an email. I then see the SMTP parameters, but nowhere found is IMAP protocol parameters. How do I access IMAP protocol parameters if I want to Send an email?

Dear All, in the attribute "id" I have strings that have the following format411d8e4d-2de6-0f5b-e100-00000a4c0a0dI would like to remove the dash in an AttributeManager (I know, I could do it with StringReplacer). I've tried the following formula :@ReplaceString(@Value(id), "-", ""))but it does not work (id remain unchanged), whereas the formula with FindString here below gives the expected result (8).@FindString(@Value(id),"-") Why the FindString is working but not ReplaceString ? What am I doing wrong ?I was also able to do it in the regular expression-way, @ReplaceRegularExpression(@Value(id),"\-","") but I don't understand how ReplaceString works. Has anyone an explanation ?Thanks in advance

I have a workspace where the Reader reads an Access database using a lettered drive path (K:\\projects\\databases\\access.mdb) The Writer writes to the same database using the same lettered drive path. When I publish this workspace to FME Flow without uploading/selecting files, the Database Path under Published Parameters is empty. ​But, when I change the database paths in my workspace to a UNC path (\\\\gisserver1\\projects\\databases\\access.mdb), I publish the workspace (without uploading/selecting files) and I see the UNC path to the Access Database populated in Published Parameters - Database Path. ​If my workspace reads from a lettered drive path and the database is Microsoft Access, when I publish the workspace, do I need to upload/select files? This would upload the Access database to FME Server.

I have 2 workspaces in the Workspaces - Test Repository. I want to move them to a different folder. In the Test Repository, I checked the box to the left of the workspace name, and under Actions there is no option to move a workspace to a different folder. What is the best way to achieve this? 

Hey there,I have to download several CSV Files from a website. I do it with the HTTPCALLER Transformer. It works perfect. I get ALL the data (several columns and lines) in one "cell":I need the informations in lines and columns, so that I can manipulate the data. I have tried with Pythoncaller, ListExploder, AttributeCreator,... but it doesn't work.Do you have any idea, how can I get that? I think the problem is the configuration of the HTTPCALLER or of the other Transformers but I have tried a lot of things and nothing works. Many thanks in advance! 

I have created an Automation in FME Server. It is triggered by a Schedule and runs a single workspace. What is the best way to have an email automatically sent to me notifying that the automation has finished running and succeeded or the automation did not succeed.  In FME Server, I see under Automations - Notifications (Classic). But I am not clear on exactly how to set up the email notification. Here is what I have done so far, and it does not seem to be sending me an email after the automation has run. Any suggestions?

I need to publish a workspace into FME Server that has a disabled connector and disabled transformer. In FME Desktop 2021, the workspace can run successfully with these disabled. If I publish this workspace to FME Server 2021 and create/run an Automation, will FME Server recognize the disabled connector and transformer and not run them?

Hi all I have buildings polygones with height attribut. when the height was calculated some of buildings were cutted in two. So now, I would like to dissolve those buildings and keep the max height of both. I can dissolve easily because they share an identificator, but I dont know how to keep the maximal height of both.  Thanks you all

Our supplier has changed their API and are now using OAuth. I'm struggling to connect, mostly because they are very unhelpful about what is needed in the Header and Body to access the credentials API I have been given this information:access token URL https://ashridgeidentityserver.azurewebsites.net/connect/token OAuth 2 with Client CredentialsClient ID : AG_WaternetAPIClientClient Secret : **********Client Scope : AG_DatabaseAPI And a screenshot from their POSTMAN service. Can anyone help me set up the HTTP Caller? I have added the client secret to a Bearer Token thus far but just get "bad request"

HiFairly new to FME!I have connected to my AGOL account and downloaded the data through the AGOL reader. I wish to change the date format from the AGOL default yyyymmddhhmmss.sssss to something more sensible i.e dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm:ss I have tried using the DateTimeConverter to output but whatever combination I try the Attribute (Survey_Date) stays the same. Any help or advice would be great

Hi, I'm trying to create ECW mosaic from multiple ECW files. It's trying to mosaic 3693 ECW tiles. Dear all, Very simple question (sorry if it sounds naive, I am newbie to FME) : I would like to set to uppercase all attributes that start with a given prefix (or that match a given pattern). Is it possible to do that with the BulkAttributeRenamer ? Or what would be the ''cleanest'' way to do that without using custom transformers ? (NB : I know I could achieve this with a custom transformer (for example, inspired by this question), but I would like to avoid this kind of solution as then I face the tricky issue of having attributes that need to be dynamically exposed and I would like to avoid also the complicated things with schema mapping and so on...) I would be very grateful if you could share how you would implement that 😀 Thanks in advance for any suggestion 

Using the AttributeManager, i understand that i could create a new attribute_alias for each attribute i want to update. However, since there are hundreds of attributes and they all need to be named the same as the existing attribute name - except in TitleCase without underscores > I wonder if there is an easy way to do this?
