FME(R) 2023.1.1.0 (20230928 - Build 23631 - WIN64)Hello FMEers,I have a set of Esri feature classes that we are supplying to our clients so they can submit data to us using a standard schema. On submission we want to verify they haven’t modified the data structure using the method described here. The method compares two datasets using the SchemaScanner and works well if there is at least one record in each feature type. It doesn’t work if there are no records in one of the datasets to be compared. This is expected because there are simply no features coming out of the ‘template’ feature class reader to work with.My question: is there any way to achieve the intent of the abovementioned article when one of my inputs has no records, only the table definition? The method works fine if I include a dummy record in the ‘template’ feature class, but I’d rather avoid this kludge.Thanks in advance. 

At this moment I received a DWG drawing with both Extended and Object data. To convert this data I first have to read with:Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3Dthen read withAutodesk AutoCAD Map 3D Object Dataand merge all features on the autocad_entity_handle Am I doing something wrong or is this the only way to get both attributes?Is it possible build a transformer that uses both reading engines because I think that would make the reader faster than current.

Hi all,I am trying to show all tables with contents in a database. I have a database with over 800 tables. Some tables are empty, some are not.  Im using this query in a sql client:SELECT SCHEMA_NAME(t.[schema_id]) AS [table_schema]          ,OBJECT_NAME(p.[object_id]) AS [table_name]          ,SUM(p.[rows]) AS [row_count]    FROM [sys].[partitions] p    INNER JOIN [sys].[tables] t ON p.[object_id] = t.[object_id]    WHERE p.[index_id] < 2    GROUP BY p.[object_id]        ,t.[schema_id]    ORDER BY row_count desc  If i am using a Sql Executor with this sql statement i have a return value of more than 300 tables wich is correct. In the preview of the feature window i see more than 300 lines. But i dont see any attributes like a table name or the number of records. Do you know how i can expose these attributes?

This must be very basic but I discover FME and I couldn’t find how to do yet. I would like to find the value from the next row in the table to use in a transformer later.  For example: I would like to fill in the column C with just the informations from the column B. Can I do that in the TextEditor by saying something like “colB” +1 or “colB” NextValue?  

Hello everyone,I am trying to write data into an SQL Database which contains multiple geometries (This is borehole location data containing the originaly measured location (point), a corrected location (point) an a borehole path (linestring)). After creating the geometries from fields and using a GeometryPropertySetter for each of these geometries I am using an Aggregator followed by a MultipleGeometrySetter-Transformer. This is working more or less as in 3 Geometries are in fact written into the database which then also contains 3 fields with SQL geometries as set by the 3 GeometryPropertySetters. But there seems to be a problem. Between setting the individual geometries and aggregation, all info on the previously set projections seems to be lost. Upon inspecting each individual GeometryPropertySetter all points are where they should be. Inspecting the following aggregator shows all points off bounds somewhere. It is my understanding that the aggregator should simply collect the input

Is it possible to change the timestamp information that is included in the log file to UTC? I have been looking for a setting, but have yet to find one. This would be for the log files created in Form/Workbench, which currently log the time as local computer time.

I am clipping a raster by a polygon, but it sometimes seems to skip parts, I have the clipper set to Candidates on clipper boundary set to Output as Inside.  I know this poly crosses 4 cells, so this is what I was thinking would come out of the clipper Inside port  But instead I get this Any thoughts why it is skipping that one cell?  This is a single band raster and all these cells have data 

Hello FME enthousiasts, I've been building a simple workspace for a collegue to get some parcel data from a public WFS. When I run the process it all seems to work (i get the desired parcel written to a File Geodatabase). Hello,In FME 2023 , in the AreaOnAreaOverlayer transformer the tolérance = “None” parameter has been removed. There only option of “Automatic” or “Custom value”.Question : if there was Tolerance = “none” in pre FME 2023 .fmw scripts, should we use Custom Value = 0 to have the same result as tolérance = none  or “Automatic”?Thanks

We generate certain types of transformers (mostly HTTPCaller) with some attributes prefilled and want our users to be able to copy the content from a file or web source and paste it directly into FME Workbench, or use drag and drop, if possible. We don’t want to use custom transformers, which works, but the overhead would be overkill. The problem is that the paste does not work, CTRL+V does nothing and the paste menu option is greyed out. I tried with a direct clone of a working transformer so the format is correct. If I copy a transformer, paste it into an editor, copy the editors content and try to paste it back to Workbench it won’t work. I don’t know why this does not work but I persume it might have something to do with encoding. Does anyone have a clue how to overcome this issue, or maybe a workaround? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I have this dynamic setup where a postgres FeatureReader reads the schema and the results are written to another database using this schema information to create the new tables. However, a table having colums of type unqualified varchar will be regenerated with varchar(80) and if records are loaded having length >80 the workspace will crash, saying: Error was 'ERROR:  value too long for type character varying(80)I attached the workspace. Is this a bug in FME or am I doing something unbelieveable silly?😕 I'm using FME(R) 2020.2.3.0 (20210129 - Build 20820 - WIN64) on a postgres 12.9 (Ubuntu 12.9-1.pgdg18.04+1).

Hi.I have another string replacer question.I have a file of text strings (appellation) similar to LOT 1/2 DP 17528 LOT 1/2 DP 13552 RS 16932 18812 19986/7 PT 18813 20862  BLK IV KAPUNATIKI SDI have split the LOT 1/2 DP 17528 & LOT 1/2 DP 13552 into 4 separate rowsTemp, _result, appellationLOT 1/2 DP 17528, LOT 1 DP 17528, appellationLOT 1/2 DP 17528, LOT 2 DP 17528, appellationLOT 1/2 DP 13552, LOT 1 DP 13552, appellationLOT 1/2 DP 13552, LOT 2 DP 13552, appellation What I want to be able to do is remove the temp part from appellation  The resultant appellation in this example would be: RS 16932 18812 19986/7 PT 18813 20862  BLK IV KAPUNATIKI SDI have tried doing this but only ended up removing one part from each instead of both Temp parts. I would be very grateful for any help with this.Regards, Paul

I’m getting an error when trying to decode some Base64 documents that have been read out of a system but I’m not sure why and I’m not sure I can easily create a sample workflow to demonstrate it, as I’ll explain.The task is to extract specific documents form an API connected to a document management system. I’ve been able to create a workflow that will identify the required document IDs and then extract the documents into feature attributes for me.The document data that is returned to me is in Base64 format. When I post the output data into an online conversion as a test, it is converted into a usable image (in the case that I tried). From this I assume that all other documents will work similarly.When I pipe that output into a BinaryDecoder and ask it to decode the Base64 attribute, it throws an error complaining about the input.When I copy the Base64 code and add

Hello FME community,I would like to write the values ​​of a list into a column. I would separate them with a minus. It may be that the list of a data set has 1 or 2 or three values.If a list of a data record has no value, no minus was written to separate it. I am attaching 2 pictures to understand it better.  

I am creating a series of small jpeg files using a feature writer with each jpeg getting it's name from a unique value (myRLU_@Value(RLUOID)). I recently upgraded to 2022.1.1 from 2021.2 - things were working until I upgraded. I have 20 records coming into the FeatureWriter and 20 showing in the Summary port but no records passing through the output port.The FeatureWriter creates the jpgs but does not pass through the records to the testfilter transformer? Has anyone else had issues with this in 2022.1.1? Any ideas how to get this running again? Could this be helpful in diagnosing the issue: FeatureWriter_5: Bulk features are not supported because the expression contains a function call After playing around some more - looks like the issue is the FeatureWriter using an attribute as the output filename. When I change it to a "hard-coded" value, the records are available in the output port.

However, since I don’t have a common attribute to compare, neither of them works. Can anyone help me on this issue here? Thanks,-John

Hello Forum, I have an externally supplied dataset which includes a street name. Some of the street name entries are all in lower case (e.g.: royal road) where it should be Royal Road. However some entries are fine.This is part of a larger regular data process, so I’d like to build in a process that fixes street names to proper upper/lower case (e.g.: royal road would become Royal Road). Is this possible in FME Form?  Thanks,Stuart 

Hi, I‘m stuck at a simple point. I want to make the AttributeKeeper filter from @Value or a User Parameter which is created by the AttributeCreator. Is it possible? I don't find a solution.The goal is to get more attributes late in a row: test_2,test_4,_test_x in the AttributeKeeper from the AttributeCreator/User Parameter.  

I would like to visualise data on the inspector data or in the graphic view after I reprojected it. That would be in the middle of a workspace before using other transformers and just to locate some features. I know it’s possible to write the data in a shape and check the features on another software like QGIS or ArcGIS but I would prefer to do that in FME directly if that’s possible, when I’m building my workspace. Can I do that?

I want to allow selection of multiple records from database in user parameters.For example, I have records a,b,c etc  in a list and I want to select records a and b to be used in FME  workflow. How can I allow user to choose records a and b?
