Hello, I have a folder containing multiple shapefiles, for example,  (a, b, d, e, f...). My objective is to utilize the AnchoredSnapper transformer in the following manner: initially, snap shapefile 'a' with 'b', where 'a' serves as the anchor. Then, the resulting snapped shapefile will be used as the anchor and snapped with 'c', and so forth until all shapefiles are snapped. I tried to implement loops but the problem is that the output have to be the new output after every iteration, so i can't get a configuration of the loop. I appreciate any assistance or proposition you can provide. Thank you.This is my wokspace and the custom transformer , using a loop. 

I am running a workbench that uses dates as parameters. If I run the command in a windows cmd window without admin privilege's, the date parameters are not passed into the workbench. When I run the cmd window with admin privilege's it work as expected.  I am fairly new to FME and I am not sure what I am missing. Is there a setting to disable the translation log window from automatically popping up when running a workspace? I’ve disabled all logging and hidden the window, but it pops up as soon as I run. I’m trying to record the execution of the workspace for a presentation, and the window keeps getting in the way.

Hi,  I have some questions about how to make a CityGML more efficient. Context: I have about 1.8m pipelines and cables. I want to visualise these as 3D cylinder/pipes (not actual ‘FMEPipeGeometry’), regardless of the ‘is it necesary to do this’. All features also have attributes like diameter and such. I want to write this to CityDB and CityGML. This results in huge filesize (somwhere like 15gb or 20gb). What I did: My thought process was it would be more efficient to use relative geoetries (a circle) that I extrude/scale/offset/etc to the proper location using the transformation matrix. Of course I cut the original geometry into pairs of 2 vertices. I wanted to reaggregate this to 1 feature once I had the relative geometry up and working. This all worked just fine until I discovered that in CityGML schema the cardinality is 0-1 on features with relative geometry. This means I cannot gather all separate bits of the cables again, giving me an even more absurd amount of features. I also

I have a datetime in the format YYYYmmddHHMMSS.SSS and want to convert it to any other format e.g. YYYYmmdd or DD-MM-YY or whatever. My super simple workspace is below. My FME version is Windows 2022.1.3.0 The DateTimeConverter version is 4 The result I get with every combination is INVALID_INPUT The Preview suggests everything is OK and what I expect: Any suggestions?

I would be interested in a dark/night mode for the community. This may be something that is already on the roadmap for future development. Perhaps another community poll could help determine how many others would also like a dark mode in the future?

The Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Reader has most of the capabilities needed to read from a Utility Network including being able to set branch versioning. However there doesn't seem to be a way to resolve domains that are defined at the subtype. The Utility Network uses the subtype layer concept where domains can be applied differently on each field by subtype. Is accessing the subtype domains something the FME can/will support?

Greetings, I created an Automation and when one of the workspaces fail I would like to receive an email that includes in the body the actual text of the error(s) as shown in the screenshot below, not necessarily that format, but at least the text.In the Email (External Action), I added these keys, but when the workspace got an error, I received the vague and cryptic text here in the email body:Error Message: A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for detailsError Type: DeadLetterJob Status: FME_FAILUREJob Status Message: A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details I would assume that “Error Message” would include something like what is seen in the screenshot.Any ideas how the log file errors can be added to the email body? 

When using the Transaction Type: Versioned Edit session in an ArcSDE geodatabase writer, all edits will be rolled back in the event of a translation failure. The geodatabase writer is set to Insert records in my workspace and I noticed numerous duplicate records after the translation failed due to conflicts identified during reconciliation. Do we need to modify anything in the writer? Thank you!

I’m a newbie using FME although I have also experience with SQL and GIS. I recently started working on a transformer using the AttributeManager. This contains ~ 40 attributes and the goal is to convert part of those attributes based on different conditions, and others attributes based on a same expression: @double(@CurrentAttribute())I was wondering if there was a method to apply the same attribute expression on several input attributes at once while keeping everything in one transformer.Thank you in advance!

I recently upgraded my FME Workbench install on Ubuntu 22.04.  Everything had been running correctly before this.  I had set up the .profile in Linux to point at a much larger hard drive (7 TB) rather than the small 50Gb drive they have configured as the HOME/default.  When I am running processes on large data sets (hundreds of millions of records) the temp fills up with gigs of data so I needed that pointed to that larger drive.  After installing FME 2024 it is acting like it doesn’t see the FME_TEMP setting and longer.  I even went in the .profile this morning to check that it was still there. Have there been any changes made to the software related to this setting? If not, how do I get workbench to start playing nice again? Any information or guidance would be appreciated. 

I have a column of data with a 10-digit alphanumeric value.  I need to keep those values and in a new column return just the last 5 characters of that columnI thought it would be as simple as creating a new column in the attribute manager and then in the attribute column I put in the string function @Right(NODE_NUM, 5)I have tried at least 4 or 5 different formatting methods, using quotes “ “ or extra parentheses while writing out the string function, but I am lost.  I use this exact same string function in MapInfo all the time and it works like a charm.  But when I put in these values in just inserts “e_num” into each row as e_num are the last from characters of NODE_NUM.What am I doing wrong?results inThanks in advance

Hi Community, I am working on developing a workbench which is basically reading Data from ESRI Enterprise Database and Writing to another DB. I am using ArcGIS Pro Version 3, FME Desktop Version 2022 and FME Flow Version 2023. Hi There,i have workspace and trim transformer - Post/processe/Radarsat2/20240313 for example, it should leave 20240313 name of the file, but it remove 2 at the begining, 0240313 remains as file name. How to keep that “2” at the beginning? 

Hello,I have two polygon datasets: folios and townlands(see image below). For the most part, the folios(grey outline) are nested neatly within the townlands dataset(red outline) so the outer folio boundaries are shared with the townlands’ boundaries. I would like to extract the areas where these two datasets’ polygon boundaries cross...i.e. where they are not nested neatly. Most of these will be slivers.  SpatialRelator(and Tester) helps to extract the offending folios using the Spatial Predicates Test: "Requestor OGC-Overlaps Supplier" however the output is the entire folio polygons(not overlapping area) as SpatialRelator does not edit the input dataset. I am unsure as to what to do next, I would like to automate this process in FME Server if possible so having one workflow would be useful. 

I’m doing a project where I have to generate and compare multiple DTM TIN-models. In regards to this, I wonder: Is there a difference between TINGenerator and Surfacemodeller in regards to how the triangulation algorithms work?How does the triangulation algorithm(s) work, in more depth than that it is delaunay triangulation?​​​​​​​Are there any other transformers/methods to produce TINs in FME?

I am using ArcGIS GeoEvent Server 10.6.1 and FME Form 2021.In FME Form, is there a way to either reset the statistics in GeoEvent Server or notify me via an email when the Count reaches a certain number? For example, in GeoEvent Server, there is a Count column. I would like an email sent to me when the Count reaches 1,200,000. Currently, GeoEvent Server does not have a way to notify a user if the Count reaches a certain number. I was wondering if there is a way to do this in FME Form?  

Hi!I have many workbenchs to manage and I would like to find a way to create a table linking the workbench name with the output writers of each workbench. The goal is to find which workbench generates which table(s). My idea is to add a custom transformer to all my workbench. The information I would like to have is :name of the workbench directory of the workbench writer information (table name, table qualifier and writer)With ParameterFetcher, more specifically, the FME_MF_DIR and FME_MF_NAME parameters, I can get the information about the the name of the workbench and directory. But I cannot find a way to extract the information of the writers. All the writers I have are in a postgis format.I would prefer not to use Python if possible. I’m sure there’s a way to extract the information since it appears in the log, I just don’t know how to get to it! Thank you 😀 !

Hi there, I am getting an Error on Windows Server FME 2021.2.5  when add Reader FGDB and tried to open Tables. (Geodatabase Error (-2147024894) Please see the attached image for more details.I have used FGDBs many times using FME, Windows Server Patches installed by the IT Department recently and it seems since then I am having this issue on FMEI have tried on different servers, ie: Windows 2012 & Windows 2019 and FME on all servers have the same issue.I can drag and drop FGDBs on to the FME Workbench canvas without any issues. Could anyone help me to identify this issue and let me know how to resolve it?thanksRegards,Pushpa

Is there a way in Form to find out the active FME Flow Connection when running a workspace?I thought it might be a (hidden) parameter somewhere, but I can’t find it immediately, and it doesn’t seem to appear in the logs either.I was wondering if I could use it to determine which environment I’m working in, setting up a development parameter is an easy workaround but might be useful one day to know/log the active flow connection anyways
