I'm trying to convert XYZ point cloud to DEM so I can generate a Minecraft world. After searching and reading "How to make Minecraft worlds" article I saw the Norway example (las2MinecraftFMEpediais workbench) by @dmitribagh similar to what I'm trying to implement, unless it is using classification attribute values (e.g. 2 for ground, or 5 for vegetation), while my XYZ point cloud doesn't have these attribute values.In the Norway example, the point cloud has another classification attribute values for water (9 or 18), while the one I have has no points for water or spaces under bridge for example. I'm attaching a picture of my dataset in the FME inspector. How could that XYZ be used to make a Minecraft world out of it? Appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks

Hello world of Safe!A few transformers create objects with the following attribute tables 'Table 1' and 'Table 2'. The attribute 'ID' describes where A is B. I want to combine these tables like you see it in the picture under 'Goal'. First I thought I could merge them with the FeatureMerger, but after that the output just shows the four rows with the ids which exists in both tables.Important: The ids in Table 1 exist in Table 2 in every case. How can I I set the workspaceRunner parameter 'FME Workspace' to my FME server path containing uploaded workspaces?I have an attribute with the workspace name that gets set dynamically, so I know which workspace to call, but rather than set the path to a network location I would like to run workspaces that exist in the FME server environment.

Hi,I've added a Python script to be run in a workspace after the translation finishes. I.e. the "FME_END_PYTHON_ENC" tag in the FME file.I can see that it hasn't been run (by other means), but I can't find neither the above tag nor keywords from the script mentioned anywhere in the translation log file.How can I determine if the shutdown script has been run or not (if I can't determine it by other means) ?If it errs, I would like to see some error messages, so I can correct it.Cheers Lars I.

Hi,My current FME workbench uses an AttributeFilter to create separate output ports for distinct attribute values. Each of these output ports then connect to the same 'series of transformers'.Base on the input file that is passed to the Reader, the name and count of the attribute values is bound to change and I would import the attribute values in AttributeFilter everytime to take care of this change and then add or delete the 'series of transformers' according to the output ports of the AttributeFilter.In order to find an automated way to the above, I know I have to somehow loop through each of the Attribute values and pass it to the series of transformers repeatedly. The first thing I did is to create a custom transformer that takes care of the series of transformers and have also added a loop to it.Can someone suggest what could be the way that the attribute values could be fed to the custom transformer and also tell the workbench when to stop.Thank you !(Can python

I am trying time entry from a SQL table to Excel to be imported into our time entry software. I want to create one worksheet that contains all employee entries and then an individual worksheet for each employee in the same workbook. I can get it to do one or the other but not both at the same time. SO far I know if I define the sheet name - Time Entry - I can write all the data to one sheet. Or if I set the sheet name to - Employee Name - I get the individual sheets for each employee. I have tried coping the writer and defining the sheet name both ways but that doesn't work.

I have a scheduled script in FME Server that has to run every half hour during week days. However, I have to schedule it to run every half hour for 24 hours a day for every day in FME Server 2015, so that it runs at night and on weekends when it doesn't have to. Are there any plans to improve the granularity of the schedule in a future FME Server version?

Hi ,I have been looking at this article on how to write to microsoft word with FME. I am trying to write out to a table in word. Results are good and I can produce a table like example below. Application Number Application Type Decision 1234 Retention Permission Granted 1235 Permission APPLICATION DECLARED However what my requirements are is to build this table horizontally and then group it by application number. So I would have 1 table per application like below. Application Number 1234 Application Type Permission Decision Granted Application Number 1235 Application Type Permission Decision APPLICATION DECLARED INVALID This is the section in the sample workspace where the table is created from a customer transformer called MSWord tableThe table itself is defined from here- I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible to define the table to produce vertical output?? I am trying to get the last 6 or 7 characters from an attribute called [event_name], and am using the built-in Open Text Editor on the AttributeManager transformer to extract this substring. But it comes out like this:@ReplaceString(@Substring(@Value(event_name),@FindRegEx(@Value(event_name),M[1-9]),@StringLength(@Value(event_name))-@FindRegEx(@Value(event_name),M[1-9])),-,_)which I think looks horrible and is difficult to understand. Is there a way I could break this down into multiple lines with local variables, like you do in a Python startup script?

Hi Friends,The problem is distance marker's preserve behavior. I have 14 lakhs features. But distance marker waits till last feature to come. after 9 lakh fme gives memory issue and comes out. I dont know why Distance marker to wait. because this is not group function. it can send the each features points as soon as it completes each feature. and write immediately. if the distance marker will preserve the incoming features, then definitely memory issue will come. how can i do that ?

Hi,I'm faced with sending circa 10000 emails to clients from FME. That's one email per user per feature.There are only some 10 mail receivers, the huge number comes from sending them each many notifications.If I want to gather all notifications into a single email per receiver, what is the best/easiest way to achieve that ?I can aggregate the individual notification content into a list per receiver, but where to go from there ?Cheers Lars I

I have a work space setup with multiple reader types. One reader will read values from an HTML table to populate attributes within the work space. On rare occasions when reading the HTML table, there will be an empty value from which I currently have the work space set to terminate with a message stating that a certain value was not found.Is there a way to prompt the user for that certain missing value if not found in the HTML table, instead of just terminating the session like I have it set to now? I know user parameters have to be set before the work space is run, just wanted an idea of how to combat this situation.FME Desktop 2017 Beta 

Hi,Yesterday, I manually started a long running task (at 09 AM), and let it run thru the night.This morning it crashed with a Win32 error.What made me wonder was, that when I looking into the job's log, the process crashed almost exactly after 24 hours to the minute. This made me wonder whether it experienced some sort of 24 hour timeout ?The log contained information about what it was doing when it crashed, so I setup a small workspace to test that. It worked without hickups.My main workspace contains a looping custom transformer if that makes a difference. But I've previously had it running perfectly with other data sets.Has anyone experienced something similar ? Or is this just a very strange coincidence ?Cheers Lars I

Hi,I have two data sources with polygons. I need to match every single polygon from first dataset to every single polygon in second dataset. Output should be any pair that have their two polygons intersect.I've tried to utilize SpatialFilter, but that doesn't do what I want. It only matche some polygons to each other.I've had a look at SpatialRelator, but it still has assymetric inputs (Requestor, Supplier), so I think it'll work as SpatialFilter. Besides it requires some attribute condition which I can't meet.What is the best way to make this M-by-N "spatial cross/outer join" ?Cheers Lars I.

I created some Workspaces and call them using Workspace Runners in a parent Workspace. As part of refining my overall process, I have renamed the Workspaces. However when I run the parent Workspace, the translation log for the child Workspaces has the old name of the child FMW.I've tried doing File > Save as on the child FMWs, and adding new Workspace Runners to the parent Workspace rather than updating the existing ones. I can't see the log file names specified anyway so why isn't FME creating the logs with the same name as the FMW?

I have a few hundred ortho-jpgs, but i want to be able to read only the ones that intersects or are within a polygon.The jpg's are georeferenced and the DWG too and botha re set to the same coordinate system and both show up at the right positions in the inspector when opened individually.This method worked for me using .las point clouds on the same spot, but I cant seem to manage to get the jpg's I want.Is there something wrong with the settings? Thank you in advance,Robin

Hi all. I feel I am going around in circles.I have a data update process uploading data regularly to SQL server. A requirement of this update is to run a couple of stored procedures on the uploaded data. I wish to run stored procedures that are entirely internal to SQL server after the upload is complete, rather than having to duck into MSSMS to trigger them. I don't require features or attributes to be passed back to FME.Currently, I am have embedded my process in a workspace runner and use a single item creator to trigger it. I then hope to have the stored procedure(s) run/triggered from SQLExecutor or SQL Creator (if it will work in this fashion)Something like exec dbo.'storedprocedurehere' only doesn't cut it. Comes back with a malformed statement.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks,Brady

I have a workspace in FME Workbench that was previously working correctly. Now when I run it I see that features are being read in but are not properly interacting with the transformers. For example, features are no longer being merged by the FeatureMerger. The workspace has not changed at all and still completes but the results are incomplete. Are there any things that I should look for?

Hi All,I have an excel file with header-1 names and header-2 names. I have used AttributeSplitter and made list for both like header-1_list and header-2_list for each record. Now I want to aggregate the values like mentioned below...If 1 record in excel containsheader-1_list contains 0,1,2 valuesheader-2_list contains A,B,C,D,E valuesOutput should be 15 records which contains 0-A,0-B,0-C,0-D,0-E,1-A,1-B,1-C,1-D,1-E,2-A,2-B,2-C,2-D,2-E as values.(I have attached sample excel file and my progress work bench to this message for better understanding)Thank you in advancePratap 

Hi Guys, i know many users ask something in that way (myself too) but its a little bit different, bcause i didnt find the exact answer to my question.  i have a polyline, gave a measure on it and produced vertices (PolylineAnalyzer) with an attribute where the extracted measure (MeasureExtractor,etc..) is saved and an attribute with the route_ID on it.Then i have produced a flat line with the same length as my polyline and also an attribute with the route_ID on it.  How can i set my points (vertices) on this flat line (with the extracted measure attribute)?   I've read some answers from other linear referencing questions and tried some things but: now I'm here!but i don't think its too complicated.......merge, list, explode,....?!?Thx and GreetzFranco

Dear FME community,I have a dataset which has for example the following two attributes:- grundbescheid_nr- bescheid_nrIf there are two identical rows with the same value in grundbescheid_nr (e.g. grundbescheid_nr= 183101), then only the entry with the higher number in bescheid_nr (in the example bescheid_nr = 186754) should be preserved. The entry marked with the blue background (bescheid_nr = 185582) and it's geometry should be deleted. The lower one(s) should therefore be eliminated.I suppose I could do it with a ListBuilder somehow, but I'm not yet sure how to do it exactly. Is there an easy way to solve this?Kind regardsThomas

I came across the reader format "Directory Watch Reader", but so for I have been unable to find any documentation about how to use this reader type. If this is covered in the documentation anywhere, or in an article here at knowledge.safe.com, I'd be grateful for a link.
