Hi,I'm a reasonably novice with regard to handling rasters in FME, and has been given the task of converting 100 ERDAS Imagine files into a number of MapInfo tables containing polygons with the original pixel values as an attribute. The pixel value is a height-above-sea-level, and the data represents flooding estimation data.I'm using RasterToPolygonCoercer to generate the "pixel polygons", which works fine, but the pixel value is lost somewhere along the line.I'm discarding "NoData" values, but have "Preserving Attributes" turned on, so where did the pixel values go ??CheersLars I.

Where is the FME Engine install folder on a Mac?

If I run a model with FME Desktop, there are no issues. If I run the same model with the same input in FME Server, I get the following error:AreaCalculator(TeeFactory): AreaCalculator: Invalid parameter 'REJECTABLE'What does this error mean, and why is it occuring only in FME Server?

FME desktop application disappeared after upgrading Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. Reinstall FME 2016 on the new OS failed. Safe tech support confirmed that 16.04 had not been tested. If someone has had luck with Ubuntu 16.04, please share your installation procedure. Much appreciated!

I am considering using FME Cloud for a series of quite small jobs. Each would take only a few minutes to run, and they would be infrequent enough that I would want to pause the instance between jobs. I understand 1 hour is the minimum billing amount, but would each time the instance is started be billed for one hour's running time, or would the times be added up?For example, say you run one five-minute job every day for a week. Would that be billed for seven hours (seven start-ups) or 1 hour (35 min rounded up)?

I'm trying to set ORACLE_HOME for FME Server on Linux, but the FME Engine is not seeing it. I fetch it and print it in a workspace, but it's set to a value I definitely didn't set:/opt2/oracle8i/app/oracle/product/8.1.6How can I set ORACLE_HOME for the FME Engine?

Hello,I have hundreds of excel books to read one sheet of (they each have only one sheet) then write the data to a database table. I thought this would be simple using batch deploy, I then realized the excel sheet names are different and in the basic way I set up my batch deploy it expects a specific excel sheet name. Is there any way for FME to simply read any excel sheet in an excel book at run time? All the excel sheets have the same column structure.To be clear:Excel book= A xlsx fileExcel Sheet= A tab of a excel file Thanks

Hi!I am new to FME. I have a set of network data where the network is made of many segments of lines. I am trying to find a way to test the integrity of the network. I have to ensure that no segment of line intersects with itself. I tried SpatialFilter with the "intersect" and "touches" test. That proved positive for all lines. Then I realized it must be true as the lines connect end to end. I need to know which segment connects to itself. Then I tried GeometryValidator and tested of self-intersections in 2D. That can only detect lines that self intersect and crosses. The lines that self intersect on itself without crossing are not picked up. Can anyone help? Thanks!

I'm working with roads data from an ArcSDE reader and trying to expose all measure values into an new attribute list using the MeasureExtractor transformer.It's working great for roads that are continuous/have only one part [fme_geometry = fme_line]. However, when roads that have multiple parts [fme_geometry = fme_aggregate] pass through the MeasureExtractor instead of having a new _measures{} list exposed, there is only a new attribute, [fme_rejection_code = INVALID_GEOMETRY]. Can the MeasureExtractor be setup to handle these fme_aggregate features? If not, can anyone recommend an alternative workflow that would result with one feature having a single list of the combined measures for a multi part road? How do I set the engines to use a proxy that isn't a system wide proxy?

Hi,I've always been struggling to wrap my head around how embedded custom transformers actually stitch into the general workflow. So this might very well be a no-brainer.If I want a transformer to have two dataflow (two input clauses), one with points/node and another with lines, and want the custom transformer to take certain point/node "names" to transfer to the line features into pre-existing attributes on it, how is this achieved ?I have "exposed" the three attributes (with seems common across all inputs !?), but I'm unsure whether the assigned values within the custom transformer ever make it out of it.Please enlighten me of the proper how-to :-)CheersLars I.

Hi,I have an output that has Chinese characters but when I write back to sql (generate a new table MSSQL_ADO) the characters are lost. The data comes from SQL and FME handles the characters correctly up to the point the writer is used any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi gurus. Problem again. I have a varying amount of objects and I want to use only one PpdfPageFormatter to write these into separate pages of ONE pdf-file. I'm assigning every object a unique pdf_page_number and thought this would do the trick, but it doesn't. Reading the documentation it seems like I need a new PdfPageFormatter for every new page. Can this really be correct? Or am I doing something stupid again?Peter

Hi,I'm using PointOnPointOverlayer to match a set of anonymous points to a set of named points, wanting to transfer the "point name" of the latter to the former when they have identical coordinates.However, I'm curious about the "Attribute Accumulation" setting, which doesn't make much sense to me.Both sets of points are routed into the transformer via a single port, but the transformer nonetheless talks about "Original" and "Incoming" as if there is a requestor port and a supplier port (as in multiple other transformers).I assume that the PointOnPointOverlayer makes a "full join" between all point features. Is this so ?What should I expect from "Use Original" vs "Use Incoming" when I've chosen "Merge Incoming" as my mode ?CheersLars I.

I have a fc "Points of Interest" and extra information about my points stored in the "Details_table":I would like to be able to export my"Points of Interest" fc retrieving also the related extra information from the "Details_table", like TELEPHONE or WEBSITEI found a solution that works, but I would like to know if you know a simple way of doing this. My solution:1. I create a 1:1 relationship class with attributes associated to the relationship (ArcCatalog)2. I populate the relationship class (Data Interoperability)3. I export the table associated to the relationship class (ArcCatalog)4. I turn back in Data Interoperability and use a Joiner to bring the GUID_POI field on my Details_table (from the previously exported table), and then a Feature Merger to bring on Point of Interest the related attributes from the Details TableIn the end I have a new fc with Points of Interest and also the "TELEPHONE" field that was in the Details_tab

Hi! I have a feature class with a coded domain on a short integer field, which refers to cities' names. I want to export it in a new feature class, but expose the associated coded-values description in a string field, and no more use of the coded domain; i.e. instead of value 1 for the city oh Washington, to store only "Washington"thanks!

Just getting started with server so excuse me if I'm asking something obvious...IT installed server for us in a Test and a Production environment. Now I want to create a subscription in Production but the list with protocols is empty... In Test we have a complete list. I have a hard time how to figure out to edit this list. Can someone give me a hint in the right direction? Thanks in advance.
