I have a text file that contains an AutoCAD pathname on each line, e.g., D:\\project4033\\dwg\\p1234.dwg D:\\project515\\dwg\\p642.dwg X:\\dwg\\a556.dwgHow can I set up a Reader to process each file (the output format will be Adobe GeospatialPDF)? I see answers like a "TextFileReader", but on my 2020.1 system there is no such transformer.

I'm looking at starting to publish some of the custom transformers I've been putting together and it occurs to me that while I want to publish them on the FME Hub under an open source license (like MIT, requiring only attribution and nothing else to use), that perhaps I'm not able to as FME itself is proprietary. So I was wondering if I can get some guidance on what I can open source and what I cannot?For example, if I create my own Python code, that is mine, but if I'm importing fmeobjects, then technically I'm bound by the license for that as my code depends on it.Similarly, if my transformer just uses the .fmx format, then it heavily depends on the FME internal factories and functions. This would be especially true if my transformer was based on an existing transformer first.As I'm looking at open source, I'm not looking to get any money out of this. Hello!I am working with polyline data that have known z-values derived from as-builts and inputted into a spreadsheet that was then used to plot the x, y, and z values. The vertical datum on these values were in NGVD29 but we need to convert the elevation values to NAVD88. However, the horizontal coordinate system is already in NAD83, so CsmapReprojector using the "NAD27 heights in NGVD29; NAD83 heights in NAVD88" has no impact. Are there any alternative solutions that can be explored? I would really appreciate the help!

Hello,  I run free FME desktop 2020.0 (free home edition) on Linux Mint 19.3. The upgrade check for LM 20 warns me that FME will be removed. Would I be able then to install FME 2020.1 using the same licence code I was given or do I need to request a new one ? 

Hi I have been working on a workspace the pat few weeks. Before I know it is now looking quite hard to read. I have considered including junctions, create tunnels, using custom transformers if possible,I have a number of lines crossing across (see attached). Any suggestions what are the best practices?

Hi,I was formating big date numbers and I encountered a strange rounding effect when evaluating a big float number (see screenshot below). It can lead to issues when formating a datetime as FME needs seconds to be within 0 and 59 (60 not allowed). As a workaround, I do the flooring using attributesplitter on strings (separator .). However I wanted to ask whether this behavior is correct? I believe this is due to the size of the number.Thanks for your answer

Hi, I am using the websocketSender transformer to stream some data; when I am using the template in the data to transmit as below:  {  "ws_op" : "send",  "ws_msg" : "FME Rocks" } I have no issues; however when replacing the "FME Rocks" with the attribute name, nothing happens. For example, if I have an attribute named "id", here is what I do:{  "ws_op" : "send",  "ws_msg" : fme_get_attribute("id") }I don't get any errorr, it is just that data is not transmitted compared to the first case.Any pointers would be much appreciated.Thanks.Lyes   

I have a line starting at (A) and ending at (B), consider it's a 50m distanceI may be at either (A) or (B). Using a nieghbourfinder , I know this line is there. How do I know at which end I am.Please advise. Expect your feedback  Gosh, my professor always used to say to me, it all depends on which end of the stick you are in :). Hi everyone,I have a BIM (revit file) that i would like to transform to Cesium3Dtiles. I used the "Revit Geolocation" Tutorial of @daveatsafe and exported the model into IFC. When I look in the FME Data Inspector the IFC file looks fine (I think). But when I add a Cesium3Dtiles writer I get an reprojection error. The coordinate system of the IFC file is EPSG:3857 and the coordinate system of the Cesium3Dtiles schould also be EPSG:3857. So I don't understand why there is a problem with the reprojector.

Hi there,One of my customers has a very large raster DTM (spacing 1 meter over a large region) that comes from numerous tiles.He wants to compute consistent contours over the whole dataset, and ContourGenerator should be OK for this, but...Computing contours on tiles independently causes issues on tiles boundaries (impossible to combine the contours that do not fit over tile boundaries.Computing contours on the whole mosaic fails after around 1 hour.Any thoughts about a clever method ?Also, I wanted to check more about the surface model used internally by the SurfaceModeller, to see if it could help build a surface model incrementally, but did not find much documentation on using this option.Thanks for your help,Fred

We've got some server apps setup for non-FMEers to use, which is working great and has really lowered the perceived threshold. However, sometimes (mostly due to bad data), the workspaces fail. To monitor that, I'd like it if FME Server could send me an email - just like I can configure it to when I've set up an automation. Is there a neat way to do this, based on the server apps success/failure?

I need to publish a workspace to fme server that will receive a geopackage file as base64 binary and will do some schema and data validation before inserting geopackage data into a number of Oracle tables. Actually an API will call the FME service providing that base64 binary and some other information.Now my question is how to read geopackage schema and data into fme. Any idea? I don't see how to get the binary back into a geopackage file.Thanks!

Hello! I'm reaching out because I'm in aa bit of a pickle. I have a task to pull a large number of photos and folders from a ProjectWise folder. I've successfully been able to do so through the ProjectWiseWSGConnector and FeatureReader, and then a number of other transformers that modifies the images for what we need. However, because the number of photos is quite large (GB's of data), it's quite the task to run it and to re-download all of the files. Is there a workflow that will skip over previously downloaded files and just download the newly added or updated ones? Thanks for any help!

Hello,I am trying to get the information on files stored in ProjectWise. I am using FME 2020.1.However, the ProjectWiseConnector, seems to be unable to get all attributes, i.e. Version and Status.Also tried custom ProjectWiseNavigationHierarchyRetriver, which looks to be able to work with all attributes, but only works with API v.1.2 and 1.3 and we are on 2.4.Are there any other transformers or a newer version of the above that could read all file attributes?Many thanksMagda

Hello!I have two datasets of lines - streets and roads. I would now like to get all intersections of streets and roads as points, but not intersections of streets and streets or roads and roads. I tried the transformers "Intersector" and "LineOnLineOverlayer" but both only have one input. So how can I sove this problem?Thank you, Stefan

I'm having some difficulties with an translation of an Excel file that contains a normal table kind of structure and needs to be transformed to another more layered kind of structure (Kind of reminds me of a xml) in Excel. The input is as followed:And needs to be transformed to this output:I managed to get a semi result using the AttributeSplitter and work my way from there but it is way to hardcoded to be useful. If a Sub folder 2 or another task is added it needs extra work to correct it. When done i would like to add some extra tasks later so best to prepare for it now. How can i loop through the folder and name attribute and build up the structure so i can add the description and result in?Any ideas on how to tackle this problem?And is there a way to use the indentation option in Excel like the result above?

Hello,I've setup four Workbenches, which I successfully get to run in sequence from a "mother" Workbench, which uses a sequence of Workspace Runners, waiting for each one to complete before calling the next one.It works seamlessly when ran from FME Workbench. But, I really need to automate this (this is what it's all about - I can't always be around to press the "Run" button unfortunately...).This is my first attempt in calling Workbench(es) via command line, and I just try the obvious: fme "C:\Users\User.Name\Path\Projects Shared\Project_Name\configs\4_Workbench.fmw" I tried first with the "mother" Workbench, and it failed. So then I tried with individual work benches, and they fail too. I logged separate log files for each of the five Workbenches (mother + 4  called by the Workspace Runners), and the logs for the 4 Workbenches called have a similar error (I did change some names on purpose, to preserve names of people etc. in paths and file names): ERROR |FeatureReader_4(QueryFactory

Hello Thererunning a simple workspace with Mapnik, the input is a line but I am getting box, no idea why   

I want to email a file attachment but the filename is passed through a custom value:-@Value(_dataset)/litmap-@DateTimeFormat(@DateTimeNow(), %B-%d-%Y).csvWhen I enter this in the Emailer transformer it goes red as per the screenshot but I cannot see how to read the error. And also cannot see how to set mime type as text/csv

I have some start and end dates for activities. The start dates need to be created in FME using the previous activities end date plus one day, however if this date falls on a weekend I need to tell it to return the next working day. It would be even better if I could also exclude bank holidays along with the weekends. Any thoughts or ideas on how to do this would be greatly appreciated!

Using Snipper with a geometry that is composed by a IFMMEMulticurve, The Snipper returns 2x the values expected (as the multicurve includes 2 IFMELines).Let's take a look to the example: this is how it is seen on the Data Inspector: IdValuea = 10b40c60 Something like this sketch is the result:the points that their measure are beyond the minimum/maximum measure of the line, are located at the beginning/ending of each segment. How could I manage this behavior? 

Essentially I want to use an Attribute Value Mapper against a list. I have a csv lookup table of old ID's and new ID's. Then in my workbench I have a json attribute of a configuration file, which I send through a regex string searcher to get a list of all the old ID's in the config. Is there a way to replace all the old values in the list for their looked-up values from the table, so I can then reinsert them in the config? Or should I just hand this step off to python? I have about 20 features going through the workbench and around 60 features in the lookup table. Each json attribute has anywhere from 5-50 matches feeding the list. I've also looked at the List String Replacer but it doesn't allow me to import the lookup table like the attribute value mapper does. I'm not seeing a way of doing this keeping the transformers under a handful. How would y'all approach this problem? Thanks

Hello everyone,I am currently trying to get a list of existing file names inside a folder.  Here are some explanations :- I have a Path reader which reads existing files in a folder (let's call it folder 1). In this folder, there should be one text file;- If the text file exists, I use a FeatureReader to read it. This text file contains several paths to other directories (folders 2, 3, …, n).- Once I extracted those new path, I want to do the same as with the reader : get the names of the existing files inside folders 2,...,n. For now, I know how to read files from within the Workbench, with a FeatureReader. But how can I do the exact same thing as the Path reader without using one ? I do not need to read the files right away, I just want to get the names of the files Inside folders 2,...,n. The idea is to do all those operations in the same fmw script.Any idea ?
