Hi.I originally had some issues with 2019.0 om my home pc with a home license. It crashed every time I added a Tester or a TestFilter transformer: https://knowledge.safe.com/questions/90340/fme-20190-problems.html These problems were solved in later builds, and neither 2019.2 nor 2020.0 crashes like this anymore. However, I just accidently ran into other similar problems with both 2019.2 and 2020.0 (and even 2018.1) on the same pc.Now it's the transformers AttributeFilter and AttributeValueMapper that makes FME crash immidiatedly.And I noticed that the Sorter transformer doesn't provide any attributes for the sort value either.Luckily both versions work on my office pc, but I would very much also like FME to work properly at home. Are there any information I can provide that'll help find the source of my problems ?I did check the "Improve FME by reporting ...", but I suspect it doesn't work when FME crashes.The pc in question is Windows 10 Pro version 1903 bui

I want to set the value of an attribute, depending on the environment, where my workbench is running (desktop, server dev, server prd),. I could do this with an parameterFetcher and get e.g. FME_SERVER_HOST. But I don't want to do this for each feature, but just once at the beginning.What's the best way to do this?I tried it with a scripted parameter, but I get an error, for FME_SERVER_HOST is not know when I run the workbench on desktop.Then I tried it with a startup-script. Here I don't get an error, but how can I set a parameter here, that I can use in the workbench?Thanks, Vera  

Hi,I have a PDF-map (image without marginalia) generated from ArcGIS Pro that I want to convert to a GeoTIFF (8-bit palette) and use as raster data. The colours look fine in the PDF but somehow come out alot darker when i convert them to GeoTIFF. This happens if I export as an RGB as well... Is there a colour handling property that I have overlooked or is this a common issue between ESRI and FME in their PDF reader/writer? Source PDFOutput GeoTIFF

I have a MapInfo table with attributes Species, GridRef, Year (such as 2020, 1999..). There may be many records where the Species and GridRef are the same, but I want to filter and retain only those with the most recent Year - so only the most recent record for a Species at each GridRef. There can also be many where Species, GridRef and Year are the same, but I just want one of those with the most recent year (it wouldn't matter which). I think by using a combination of Sorter and Sampler I should be able to sort by Name, GridRef, Year and group by these in the Sampler - so it should pick the first record in each group? I tried this but still seem to be getting duplicate Species and GridRefs in the result.I'd be very grateful if someone could at least point me to the right transformer. or give me details about the parameters I should be using in the Sampler.Many thanks, and keep safe,Jane

Hi There, I have polyline feature class (in GCS_WGS_1984) and I want to perform Generalize function (ArcGIS Link) on the layer for 10 meter treshold. I found this transformer Generalizer transformer that seems like right transformer to use but it has lot of options to choose from. I am trying to figure out the equivaent in FME world for ESRI's Generalize function. Appreciate any input.

Hi everyone,I have a workspace to create polygons from point with aixm 4.5 data (previous question here, thank you @takashi)Somes of the polygons contains arcs, and theirs direction clockwise (CWA) or anti-clock wise (CCA) matters, I don't know how to handle this in python, or with other transformer.Any ideas ? Hi,  We are daily updating a number of PDF's with FME for publication on our website but these files need to have the Document Properties set. Our webcare team won't allow for the pdf's to be published. So far I'm not able to achieve this.There seems to be an option with the format attribute 'pdf_document_info_metadata' but how do I format the properties in my writer?When reading a pdf which has these properties filled in, pdf_document_info_metadata is a feature type. I have tried adding this feature type to my pdf writer with the exact same schema. But no result; empty properties still.Does anyone know if writing the properties is supported and how to achieve it?

Hi all,I have an excel file, where I need to fill in fields based on previous values. This should happen for 3 fields: total_suspects, total_positive, total_recovered, deaths. But some cells are not filled, they are empty. I need to fill in the previous amount, according to the previous date. Example: total_suspects for day 2020-04-06 3:00 is 19, but for day 2020-04-07, it is empty, so it should be 19. This same situation should continue in all empty fields in the sequence of days. This should happen for the 3 columns informed at the beginning. The problem is that this must happen grouped by name. I have a dataset containing 100000 points, for these points I've calulated 700 neighborhood. Now I want to calculate the z score for every point in each individual neighborhood.  My question is: is there an easier way to do it, than 700 conditional values ? I've tried with a custom transformer in which I can loop, but I cannot get my head around how to do it.   Please help :) Thanks in advance.

Hi,I'm using a HTTPCaller to connect to an XML api service. Although I can connect and receive XML I can't create attributes from the file. I'm new to XML and don't know how to do this. I tried using an XML reader and successfully extracted the attributes, but then FME 2019.2 keeps crashing after reading the file, or reads the file and then doesn't show the reader in the workbench, so I'm hoping this will be a more robust method. I've tried using an XMLFragmenter to get the attributes, but they aren't showing - I assuming I'm missing a step somewhere. testxml.txt I've attached a test file.Thanks N  

Hi there! I am new into the FME world and I am kinda hoping somebody can point me into the right direction. Currently I am trying to build an FME routine that will allow me to read metadata from a excel sheet (preferred format from the engineer department) and write it into a geodatabase feature class.This is how my workflow currently looks: Everything seems to work fine when it comes to updating the metadata fields (Title, Summary, Description, etc.) but when it comes to writing new values (writing in a blank field) the routine runs successfully but no values are being added to the feature class metadata. This is how my XML Updater looks: In this particular instance the feature class has a title so the FME routine is updating to the new title located in the Excel spreadsheet. That being said the Summary and the Credits metadata fields are empty in the original feature class and remain empty after the process is completed. I already tried all different Update

Hi,I created my first ever FME Server app yesterday and when I ran it the first few times, everything was fine.However, for an un-related reason, I changed the permissions (I added a new role with 'Can Run' permissions) to the repository that the workspace which is used in the FME Server App, is sitting in, and then following this the app no longer works. When I go to the app URL now I get a message saying ' Repository "XXX" doesn't exist or you do not have permission to Read or Run from it '.I don't understand why I am getting this message as the repository definitely still exists and I actually added more permissions to it rather than removing permissions.Anyone experienced this before?I am using FME Server 2019.1Thanks

I have an automation where dates are created in workspace 1 and passed to workspace 2. I already had published parameters formatted as dates in workspace 2. However, I can't see an option to use the dates from workspace 1 as keys, I only get a calendar selection. It works fine with strings, is there a way to do it with parameters which are dates?

Hello, I am struggling with reading Excel files into my workbench.  I built my workbench based on an Excel file with this format. When adding the reader I set the 'field names row' at 3, so the names in row 3 are used as column headers in FME.  I want to use my workbench for other files as well. These files have the same format. Only the information from row 4 will be different. So I created two user parameters witin my workbench:- Input File- Output Directory If I open my workbench and run the translation I can fill in the user parameters: When I choose the original file which I used to create the workbench, all goes well. But when I choose another file, I only get missing values:I even made a copy of the original file, so it is exactly the same document with only a different file name. But even then I get missing values.  Can anyone explain to me what I need to change in my settings to overcome this?Has the red indication in the User Parameters window something to do with it?
