Is it possible to create a table schema with a predefined number of empty records on the fly?

we have a lot of data on the cloud and locally. does the desktop ESRI license provide the capabilities to connect to remote databases/data?

I need daily weather data. I am using the API provided by the Dutch weather bureau (KNMI) in the httpcaller. I want to use python request library to run webhoooks on FME Server. I am having trouble because python request library returns HTTP status code 500 with server error:Thu-23-Jul-2020 10:21:35.970 AM FATAL http-nio-80-exec-6 412007 : Service failed: java.nio.file.AccessDeniedException: C:\\ProgramData\\Safe Software\\FME Server\\resources\\system\\temp\\requestdata\\9058908488982796417  I try to use the same url and headers with urllib.request.urlopen and the webhook runs fine. I really need to use the request library.

Hi community, I have a data set that contains polygons which have arcs in them and others that do not. I'm looking for a way to select or filter the polygons that contain the arcs so I can do some editing on them but I'm not sure how/if I can extract these attribute properties to work with. Below are two sample images of properties that I'm referring to. Any help would be appreciated.

An obvious issue that needs a warning.If you have a single Server Engine and want to call a Workspace through FMEServerJobSubmitter. You cannot make use of FMEServerJobWaiter. It'll never complete as you only have a single engine. 

Hi, I have a very simple workspace, the result of which is excel spreadsheets. However, there is a published parameter where I always need to inform dates, for example: 20200709030000, 20200710030000,20200712030000. Currently I need to run date by date, is there a way to run date by date automatically, that is, entering the required dates in one go?  Thank you very much

I am merging an excel spreadsheet and an ArcGIS SDE feature class on a common field. Some of the entries in the spreadsheet have a "Strikethrough" effect--these entries should be ignored, however, FME is matching them anyway. How can I get it to ignore any entries with strikethrough?

Is it necessary to use FME desktop to publish modified FMWs up to the Server repository, or can I simply use a file a manager to over-write the existing server workspaces with updated versions off my desktop?

Hello, I am currently trying to open a MRF file with FeatureReader. Usually, when i use FeatureReader, there is a particular output port created on the transformer.In this case, I only have the following output ports :SchemaGenericInitiator.Those outputs do not contain any geometry. When configuring the transformer, I do the following actions :I set the format to "Meta Raster Format (MRF)"I set the dataset I go into "Parameters...", and I set the Feature Type Name to "From format name"I set "Feature Types to read" to "mrf"I set "Features to read" to "Schema and data features"I set "Accumulation mode" to "Only use result".If I run this transformer, it does not fail, but there is no geometry output. If I use a MRF reader it works fine : when opening the inspector, I can see my data and click it. Sadly, this is not the process logic, I must use a FeatureReader. Did I forget to set some parameter ? Ho

I want to read different csv files that includes coordinates and do some calculation with this coordinates. The attribute names differer from file to file: x, y or a, b or lon, lat ... The calculation is the same for all input files. I have created internal names for the coordinates like wgs84_lon and wgs84_lat. I want to create parameters to let the user assign which attributes in the source csv includes the values for wgs84_lon and wgs84_lat like x >>> wgs84_lony >>> wgs84_latI have used an dynamic csv reader and tried to use the AttributeCreator and publish some of its parameters but this did not work for me :-(I am looking for a solution that works with FME Desktop and FME Server.Can anybody help me?

I have a folder of pdf files. I would like to extract the names of the files and put them into a separate rows into a column. Attached is a screen shot that shows examples of the files.  

I would like export from file e57, rotation (e57_rotation_w, e57_rotation_x, e57_rotation_y and e57_rotation_z) and translation (e57_translation_x, e57_translation_y, e57_translation_z) for the six images in the file. I can see this information in FME Data inspector but I can't see this information in FME Workbench.Thank

When using the GUID generator i would like to assign that column as a primary key without opening the writer and assigning it? Is there a transformer i can use for this? (Would be a great addition to that transformer.)

I can't drape features from the BGT-downloader on a surface. When I inspect the features z-coordinate I can see he drape the features, but when I see the dwg-output not all the features are draped.Who can help me?I've attached the workbench and files.Thanks!

Hi,Is it possible to see the table name of a SourceDataset geopackage in the command-line ?I have a geopackage 'biotopes.gpkg' containing several biotopes tables.The command-line only indicates the geopackage as source :--SourceDataset_OGCGEOPACKAGE "E:\\biotopes.gpkg"I would like to see something like--SourceDataset_OGCGEOPACKAGE "E:\\biotopes.gpkg\\biotope1"so I could choose the table of the geopackage in order to do some batch proccessing with a loop on the biotopes.Any idea ? Thanks.

I'm going from ESRI Shape Files to PostGIS and trying to add a primary key to all my tables so that Mapserver and other queries are happier with the unique Primary Key. I see from https://knowledge.safe.com/idea/74374/postgres-writer-add-unique-primary-option-for-inde.html that I can add a Serial and that works well but I'd like to add that to 20, 30, or even 50 shape files at a time. Is it possible to do this as a batch?Thanks!

Hi guys.I would like to know if anyone has used FME on Debian 10? It was indicated to me that there is a problem with a library on Debian 10, but was not told what library it was, or if there is a workaround.I was told "You may be able to deploy it but may encounter an issue with running workspaces " Anyone know if this has been resolved? 

Hi all, We have a FGDB that contains domain values and we are using the FGDB Open API Reader to read in the data. We have examples where a field has a modeled domain but a value is not a valid coded value. In this situation we are seeing that the value is being read into FME as an empty text string. I am guessing that FME has trying to get the description of the value, and because it does not exist it is returning an empty text string.I'm just checking to see whether anyone else has seen this and whether this is expected behavior?We are using FME to validate these values but by bring in a blank it does not really help. We tested using FME 2018.1 and 2020.0.If we use the arc-object FGDB reader we can resolve the domain and see the bad value. Unfortunately using this reader is not an option due to licensing. CheersAdie

Hi Guys, I am reading in JPG's and writing to a TAB file with attributes.I want to convert the EXIFF date format to DD/MM/YYYY with time if possible.The format EXIFF provides is YYYY:MM:DD HH:MM:SS eg 2020:06:03 08:55:21Can this be done in the feature writer? eg changing the value with a @Value(jpeg_exif_datetime,%d/%m/%Y) command is this the right approach?Dave

HelloI want to write Lines (with 2 points) instead of Polylines, so i use a Chopper to create Lines with 2 Points. But if i use a DWGStyler to set the Linetype all those Lines are written to DWG as Polylines. If i do not use the DWG Styler everything is like i need it. I'm not sure if the DWGStyler is the main reason for this.So i would like to know, is it possible to force the Writer to create Autocad Lines instead of Polylines? The writers Autodesk AutoCAD DWG/DXF and Autodesk AutoCAD RealDWG DWG/DXF create the same result. Thanks

Hey,So I have the below workflow, where the map_portal_request ArcGIS Online Feature Layer is updated, now I want the string "user already exists" written into a column called alburycity_comments if the update comes through stream A, but I want nothing written to this column the data comes through stream labelled B.I know I can do this, but cant work out the simple way to do it!The way I am thinking of doing it is adding an attribute manager at A, adding an attribute of TRUE, and then doing a Conditional Value in the User Attributes, as it will only be TRUE if it comes through stream A.Is this the most efficient way you can think of?
