Hi,i am using an AttributeValueMapper where i import an excel file. In the preview the encoding is correct, but when i complete the import steps, the encoding gets destroyed. I dont find any option to change this. Are there options to correct this or is this not possible or is this a bug?i am using FME(R) 2019.1.0.0 (20190710 - Build 19608 - WIN64)RegardsClemens

I am needing to test a DWG contains certain features for example a north point. If the drawing contains the layer that the north point is on I can use a range of functions to test if it exists i.e. tester, statisticsCalcultaor, etc But what if the north point is missing and therefore there is nothing on that layer, how do you test for its non-existence?

Hi, I want to dissolve all polygons that are under 1.5m2 into neighbouring polygons. I have managed to merge the 1.5m2 polygons that only intersect one other polygon. But with regards the rest, I want them to dissolve into the largest polygon it intersects. For example, if a 1.5m2 polygon intersects a 100m2, 200m2 and 300m2 polygon I want it to always chooose the 300m2. Thanks very much for any help. Kind regardsB

HiI have a tiled point cloud.I want to be able to test/check what tiles are intersecting, within, touching etc with polygons from a shapefile.If a tile is overlapping then the part that's inside the polygon needs to be ground filtered. The other part needs to stay the same.It seems that the spatialfilter doesn't work with a point cloud. Is it possible in FME to create empty Esri file geodatabases without any feature classes inside? Like how you would manually create them in ArcCatalog.

Hello all,I am trying to validate DWG files and that they have been drawn using metric units. I have exposed the 'Read Drawing System Variables' and that gives me access to autocad_lunits but I am trying to figure out what the output means.In the image below the autocad_lunits comes back with a value of 2 on the 0 layer but not sure what 2 really means. Does anyone know what the range of options that AutoCAD produce or if there is another way to find what units are being used in the drawing?   Note: I know this particular drawing is in metric units but not sure what other values could be expected.

I'm having a hard time even coming up with a title for this problem that I'm seeking help on. But I'll summarize and provide context as much as I can.We are trying to parse publicly available medical data. This data is provided as a concatentation of multipe substrings (ex: 100 or more fields) in one long string. An accompanying document describes the start and end position of each substring that defines the value of a field. I was able to mock up a quick workflow to dynamically supply a single row Excel or CSV file with this data (see excerpt below that I used as a proof of concept) and then feed in the long string text data file:The workspace reads the above and uses an AttributeExploder to "transpose" this table. I then clean out unwanted features and do some calculations to create an appropriate StartIndex and EndIndex (which I use later to extract the substrings). After reading each line in the text file, I then use a FeatureMerger to stitch this together wit

Hi,  I have a shapefile 1 in which I can move common points between features with topological edition active in Qgis, without problem.After I read the file in FME and write it to another shapefile 2, this last one cannot be edited the same way (common points are moved separately even with topological ediiton active in Qgis).I tried to reduce the workspace to the minimum, means no transformer at all, only shapefile reader and shapefile writer ! Same behavior. Did you already have this behavior ? I don't know what I do wrong... I can send the shapefile if needed.

Hi all, I'm attempting to set up a custom XFORM_DEF to move between CSRS (1997) and CSRS (2010) using the grid shift file CVG69710.gsb provided by NRCAN, and I'm having trouble getting it to show up in FME Options > Coordinate Systems. I was wondering if anyone might have experience setting up this transformation or if anyone could otherwise spot what might be going wrong. I've placed the grid shift file in Reproject\\GridData\\Canada and placed this definition in the bottom of the MyCoordSysDefs.fme file. I also did a test by uncommenting the ASTRLA66-Grid_to_GDA94 XFORM_DEF in the same file and it shows up in Workbench without issue.Here is my custom definition:I was thinking that perhaps I need another datum to represent either CSRS (1997) or CSRS (2010), but I'm not really sure. Hii,I have a .rvt file that I have georeferenced in Revit (epsj 23032 - UTMED50 32N). Now, my target is to visualize that file in FME. I'll show you how I tried to do it:In the first figure I show you about the Revit survey point, and for me it's ok. Because the coordinates values are coerent with the coordinate system of the project.In the second figure I show you about FME reader setting that I have used.When I use the reader to import the file in FME Desktop 2020 the model don't match with the correct location :-(Someone can help me!!!RegardsGianpiero

 i have lines and points ,both of them as input .i want to find which lines intersectes with points and which notand show me the id of each station that line intersected so i tried by point on line layer and neighbor finderand it find correct data of overlapped point but i have still problem,when one line intersected with two points ,the output that i got only id of this line and and overlap 2 and name one of the two station .it did not show me the 2 stations that line intersectedso i noticedthat it checked only by xmin and ymin of the line which point intersected . this is the station that it has chosen and another point at end of the line ,it did not show me bcs it is xmax and ymaxbut the line intersected with 2 point as the output said 2 overlap,so how could i solve this problem .and i get id of each 2 pointand i tried also neighbor finder but both of them works with xmin ymin close candidatehow could i let both of them work with xmin ymin and also x max y maxbcs it means also if i

Hello, I wanted to know if you have already managed to convert a JPEG image to a SHAPE point with the GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) of the EXIF data on FME 2018. Knowing that I don't have the EXIFGeometryCreator transformer which is on FME 2020. For the moment I am using the AttributeManager transformer to remove the parentheses contained in the jpeg_exif_gpsdestlatitude and jpeg_exif_gpsdestlongitude data. Example: I use this StringFunctions @Trim (@Value (jpeg_exif_gpslongitude), ()) for the longitude which is worth: jpeg_exif_gpsdestlongitude = (0) (33) (0) And for the latitude I have: jpeg_exif_gpsdestlatitude = (44) (28) (4) However the StringFunctions that I use only deletes me the parentheses at the beginning and end of expression as below: 0) (33) (0 and 44) (28) (4 Do you have a solution to remove all the parentheses? For the rest I use the transformer VertexCreator, to use these coordinates (altitude and longitude) to be able to obtain a point having as attribu

Hi All, I originally asked this via the Support Chat. Whilst a case has been setup, it was suggested that I also reach out to the community (thanks @steveatsafe). For a client we're setting up a dev FME Server install (and eventually test and prod). On the servers will be installs of desktop to do the publishing from. Each user that will do publishing will log on to the server using their own windows account.  To keep everything organised, we would like to have one set of connections and shared folders for custom transformers. Internally we have a setup script that runs and sets the appropriate registry keys for the user to the shared location (each user has their own laptop).  This way of setting the shared location will not work for our client as multiple users will have access to the server to publish workbenches. Our current scripts works on the user level and therefore would need to be run each time a new user access the server.Is there a way to set the global defaults for the

Hi all, I am trying to access my Strava data specifically where I have ran/cycled for some data vis.I have added Strava as a web connection according to these instructions: https://hub.safe.com/publishers/gerhardatsafe/web-connections/strava While in the 'Managed Web Services' I have added in Client ID and Client Secret and testing the connection seems to be successful. I have also added it as a Web Connection/Service.When I run the HTTPCaller transformer with say https://www.strava.com/api/v3/athlete (or whatever else in http://developers.strava.com/docs/reference/) and put in authorization parameters into the Headers section: the translation log seems to indicated that the HTTP connection is unauthorized: I have been trying to figure out where I have gone wrong for hours - if someone could please point me in the right direction, it would be massively appreciated. @gerhardatsafe do you have any thoughts yourself? Cheers

I am new to FME vs AGOL. I want to use FME to update an AGOL hosted feature layer. Based on this article https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_ReadersWriters/arcgisonlinefeatures/arcgisonlinefeatures.htm, I created an app on our organizational AGOL using my enterprise single-sign-on, and registered the app to have an App ID and secrete key. But where I use them to connect to AGOL in FME? I don't see any place in the "ESRI ArcGIS Online Feature Service" writer. See attached. I am using FME desktop 2019.2.

Hi, I have used SchemaMapper to create two new attributes that have successfully mapped to my output shapefile. I can see them in the inspector in the Feature Information window. However, I want to map these values into my attribute table. When I try to expose these attributes using AttributeExposer they are not there. I have searched through many posts on these forums and can't seem to find an exact answer. Could someone help me with this?ThanksB

I have a "mapinfo" table that I'm trying to load into a oracle DB with SDO_Geometry. My license doesn't let me create a writer in FME as an Oracle Spatial table. So my workaround is to add the tables as "oracle non-spatial" tables. This works fine for address points but when I run the following SQL;This updates successfully. The issues is when I check in "Data Inspector" if its saved correctly (for this particular record which is a multipolygon). I get only one of the polygon objects returning;

 I have a set of areas. And all neighbours should be connected with a line. If I have 10 areas they should be connected with 9 lines to connect them all. I have tried to explain in detail with the attached pdf and in annotations in my workspace. I have a solution but its not the best solution and could probably be edited to something better. For small amount of data it works. But for large its a heavy process.  The end result should look something like the images below Alla areas are connected    Alla areas are connected  And there are 1 less line then there is areas     

Hi,I have a set of 24 attributes each with a calculation which results in a numeric value. Is there a way to set a conditional statement across all of these in a similar way to how the NullAttributeMapper works?I want to apply across all 24 attributes "If value <0, then map to 0" but i want to try and avoid 24 individual conditional statements within an AttributeManager.Thanks,Jack
