FME Data streaming HTML file

Hi All, I have a FME workspace published with the Data streaming service of FME Server 2016. The workspace creates a HTML file for output. When I run the workspace my browser allows me to download the file (or run it). I want the HTML contents of the file to replace the FME Server page (or automatically open in a new tab). What do I need to change to open the HTML file without user interaction? Thanks for any help, Erik Jan

How do you manage Version Control between Flow and Form?

We have enabled Version Control to an external repository on FME Flow. Are there any best practices for managing Workbenches in development in FME Form? My current thought, which I haven't spent much time developing, is to recommend that once a Workbench is uploaded to Flow, the desktop version is archived and any future work on the Workbench must be done by Downloading from Flow and Republishing. Basically, to insist that all work must be done from Workbenches from Flow. The downside I can see from this is that there is no way to force developers to follow that. Any suggestions?

Error retrieving Job History

My FME Server dashboards are not working. When I try to run JobHistoryStatisticsGathering.fmw, it fails with: Terminator (TestFactory): Terminator: Termination Message: 'Translation Terminated: There was an error getting job history. Error Message: HTTP/1.1 404 - http://v01w-app-p0427/fmeserver/fmerest/v3/transformations/jobs/completed?limit=1000&offset=0 ' What file is it looking for?

Error Opening Path Reader on folder

I have published a workspace to FME Flow. When I run it in FME Flow, I get this error in the log file: Path Reader: Error opening the PATH Reader on folder '\\\\myservername\\T_DFshared\\FME Workflow\\All Reports to Folder5'. Could not find folder. ​ I checked and the server where the folder resides can communicate with the server that FME Flow is installed on. The folder does indeed exist and has the files used in the workspace in it. The workspace published from FME Form starts with a Directory and Pathnames Reader and runs with no errors in FME Form. ​ Could this error be caused by the spaces in the folder names in the UNC path shown above or could something else be causing this error?

SystemCaller failed but still does its job

Hi, This is just for esthetics: I geht houndreds of warnings from FME_Server runnung an Job with some SystemCallers that copy files with robocopy. Although everything works fine and the the files are copied, "Failed to Execute" does not look nice. SystemCaller_12: Failed to Execute `robocopy \\\\RZ2-ZDA-01\\Data$\\Aktuell\\INSPIRE \\\\RZ2-ZDA-01\\Data$\\Historisch\\INSPIRE CP_CadastralParcel.gpkg' If I use the commandline "cmd" from Win2019 on the FME-Server then I dont get any warning.

connection timed out error: Postgres

I am trying to convert an old script that loads 100+ tables in Postgres to a FME Server automation. One of the things I am doing is a INSERT INTO schema1.table SELECT * FROM schema2.table with a SQLExecutor where schema2 is a Oracle foreign table. This works fine for some smaller tables, but for a large table around 33gb I eventually receive a 'could not receive data from server: Connection timed out' error whether I run it on desktop or server. This worked fine when run from the script. I'm at a loss here, what could be causing the problem?

Can I display features on the map based AOI selector in an FME server app?

I have a workflow that allows the user to select their desired market as an AOI for a server app. See this example for what I'm referring to and how this is deployed. https://engage.safe.com/demos/map-based-data-distribution-fme-server-apps/ The workflow works just fine, but does FME server have the functionality to display features on the map when the user selects the AOI? This would help when defining the area somewhat and give the user more context to what they are selecting.

Can't access "Create Backup" page on FME Flow

Version: FME Flow 2024.0.1Build 24202 - win64 Issue: Click “Backup & Restore - Create Backup” or “System configuration - System Cleanup” or “System configuration - Network & Email”, error message “Error communicating with FME Server host localhost” will pop up. All other functions works fine, I only noticed this when try to create a backup. FME Flow is accessible through http://localhost:8080/fmeserver/

Unable to download workspaces due to Javascript 500 and Null error

On FME Server 2022.1.1, me and a fellow colleague noticed we cannot download any FMW files from the Workspaces page. Memory and Access issues in FME server that do not occur in FME Desktop

Hi all, I need some advice for 2 issues in FME server, which are possibly related: 1. Memory Issue ( Insufficient memory available -- error code was 2 - please read the FME Help section 'Adjusting Memory Resources' for workarounds. ):I have an issue with a workbench I’ve made in FME desktop which behaves differently when run on FME server. Both environments have the same memory constraints. The issue occurs when I try to load a handful (<5) of files into my workspace, which generally can handle upwards of 400 regular files. The files themselves aren’t much different (no odd characters that might trip the process up), but FME seems to get stuck on a subset of them, and keeps churning until all memory is used up. As mentioned, this only happens in FME Server. On failing a Job due to no memory, it tries again: (Failed to free sufficient memory to reach the process usage limit. Flow app 'OK' button greyed-out after you attempt to run and have a parameter error

Hi all, I am running FME Flow 2023.1 and have a flow app with a handful of mandatory parameters which the user enters and clicks 'OK'. If the user does not enter all parameters and attempts to run the app, they get a 'Please supply a list for parameter' error. If the user re-enters all the parameters and attempts to run the app, the 'OK' button is now greyed-out. The user must refresh the page and start again. is there a reason for this behaviour? It's pretty annoying to have the user re-enter all parameters again if they have forgotten to enter a mandatory field. thanks

FME server: Error submitting a job [only manually started]

Hello, So we upgraded the server to the latest version and now I can't run a workspace. Error message "failed to register FME Engine" keeps on repeating under System events. However.... the engine is registered and works just fine. The error repeats every minute and completely drowns out other logs. How do I stop it?

Why is the workspace field empty after hitting [apply] in dynamic workspace dialog?

When in automations you work with the dynamic workspace runner the workspace field blanks after hitting [apply]. It is annoying and confusing because some times the chosen parameter value is not forgotten and some time it is forgotten!? I believe this is a bug but have not seen any mentioning of this in here. Unable to perform any licensing related tasks

Hi I am trying to run a workspace in server (my first!) and am getting the following error: "Unable to perform any licensing related tasks. Please check your Esri ArcGIS Compatibility workspace parameter, found in Navigator -> Workspace Parameters -> Translation. This 64-bit version of FME requires ArcGIS Desktop along with 64-bit Background Geoprocessing; ArcGIS Pro; or ArcGIS Enterprise. Refer to this this article http://fme.ly/qua for more details" ArcGIS Pro Advanced 3.1 is installed on the machine with a single use licence. The version of FME Server is 2022.2.5 so that should be compatable. The original workbench runs fine and the ESRI workspace parameter is set to ArcGIS Pro. Does anytone have any ideas as how to resolve this? Thanks

Published workspace &gt; workspace app. Won't let me upload data

I have a number of workspaces to allow users to convert data between various formats. After upgrading our server to Flow from Server 2023 I had to republish these to get them to work, and for the most part it seems ok. I register each workspace with the job submitter and data download services, and use $(FME_MF_DIR) for temp storage of the uploaded data. So far so good... Then there is that one workspace: It is defined the same way as the others, but this will not allow me to select "User Can Upload" when I define the workspace app. The other apps I set up with Service: Data Download and check User Can Upload. For this one workspace the option is not there unless I choose Service: Job Submitter, but then I am not able to download the results. I can run the workspace manually in Flow, upload files and get a download link to the results, but can't get it to work as an app Any ideas to what this can be?

Programmatically retrieve a list of the Web Connections that a workspace uses

Hi Folks - I would like to use the FME Server API to get a list of the Web Connections that a workspace uses. I see that there is an endpoint for GET /repositories/< repository >/items/< item >/parameters , but this doesn't provide details regarding the Web Connections configured for the workspace. I currently have a query like: http://domain.com/fmerest/v3/repositories/repo_name/items/workspace_name.fmw/parameters ... and wondering how to change this to get the Web Connection details as well. Grant read only access to a user based on a role

I have a Flow/Server running, where users access it via SAML authentication. Each user is then assigned to a role with appropriate permissions for a team user belongs to. While users have fmeauthor permissions on Test environment, we have a requirement that users can get read only access on Prod env. With this jobs are run by a system account on the Prod. The challenge here is to find a way to let users be able to view "their" job logs, review configuration or perhaps validate generated data in FME_SHARED_RESOURCE_DIR . Is there a way to configure role in a way so a user can view all jobs, job logs, automations, resources, etc.? For example: speaking about jobs - from what I can see I can either grant Jobs/Access permission (so user can see jobs ran by the user only) or Jobs/Manage (which grants too wide permissions for read only access). Server apps Microsoft AAD login wrong redirect

If a user follows a direct link to a workspace app or an app gallery, and there is authentication required, a login screen appears. If using 'normal' login with username / password, after login the user gets redirected to the URL in the workspace link., which is correct. However, if I use a Microsoft Azure AD login ('log in with microsoft'), the user always gets redirected to de base URL of FME server and not to the app. Is there somewhere a setting we should set to redirect to the url of the app instead of the base url ?

Querying log folders - writing all logs to one folder

Hi, I'm trying to ingest log files into Azure monitor so I can send out organisation wide notifications but i've run into an issue. When I look into the machine that flow is installed on, I can see that it is storing logs in folders in batches of 1000 and it will create new folder each time it hits a multiple of 1000. I can process files into Azure, but this doesn't seem to work with a wildcard in the /current/ folder - it needs a folder that already exists. Is there a way to write these logs all to the same folder? The file pattern/query i'm using: C:\\ProgramData......logs\\engine\\current\\jobs\\*\\job_*.txt Many thanks, Sam
