Why is the workspace field empty after hitting [apply] in dynamic workspace dialog?

When in automations you work with the dynamic workspace runner the workspace field blanks after hitting [apply]. It is annoying and confusing because some times the chosen parameter value is not forgotten and some time it is forgotten!? I believe this is a bug but have not seen any mentioning of this in here. So appologies if this is a known issue expected to be solved in next release!Before [apply]:After [apply]:

Unable to perform any licensing related tasks

Hi I am trying to run a workspace in server (my first!) and am getting the following error: "Unable to perform any licensing related tasks. Please check your Esri ArcGIS Compatibility workspace parameter, found in Navigator -> Workspace Parameters -> Translation. This 64-bit version of FME requires ArcGIS Desktop along with 64-bit Background Geoprocessing; ArcGIS Pro; or ArcGIS Enterprise. Refer to this this article http://fme.ly/qua for more details" ArcGIS Pro Advanced 3.1 is installed on the machine with a single use licence. The version of FME Server is 2022.2.5 so that should be compatable. The original workbench runs fine and the ESRI workspace parameter is set to ArcGIS Pro. Does anytone have any ideas as how to resolve this? Thanks

Published workspace > workspace app. Won't let me upload data

I have a number of workspaces to allow users to convert data between various formats. After upgrading our server to Flow from Server 2023 I had to republish these to get them to work, and for the most part it seems ok. I register each workspace with the job submitter and data download services, and use $(FME_MF_DIR) for temp storage of the uploaded data. So far so good... Then there is that one workspace: It is defined the same way as the others, but this will not allow me to select "User Can Upload" when I define the workspace app. The other apps I set up with Service: Data Download and check User Can Upload. For this one workspace the option is not there unless I choose Service: Job Submitter, but then I am not able to download the results. I can run the workspace manually in Flow, upload files and get a download link to the results, but can't get it to work as an app Any ideas to what this can be?

Programmatically retrieve a list of the Web Connections that a workspace uses

Hi Folks - I would like to use the FME Server API to get a list of the Web Connections that a workspace uses. I see that there is an endpoint for GET /repositories/< repository >/items/< item >/parameters , but this doesn't provide details regarding the Web Connections configured for the workspace. I currently have a query like:http://domain.com/fmerest/v3/repositories/repo_name/items/workspace_name.fmw/parameters ... and wondering how to change this to get the Web Connection details as well. In the implementation notes of the endpoint above I see the info below, but I am not sure how to use the create a query using the "Sub-type: Web Connection Parameter" Sub-type: Web Connection Parameterparameter {connectionTypes (array[string]): Connection types of this published parameter,defaultValue (string): Default value of the published parameter,description (string): A human-readable description of the published parameter,excludeConnectionTypes (array[string]): Co

Grant read only access to a user based on a role

I have a Flow/Server running, where users access it via SAML authentication. Each user is then assigned to a role with appropriate permissions for a team user belongs to.While users have fmeauthor permissions on Test environment, we have a requirement that users can get read only access on Prod env. With this jobs are run by a system account on the Prod. The challenge here is to find a way to let users be able to view "their" job logs, review configuration or perhaps validate generated data in FME_SHARED_RESOURCE_DIR . Is there a way to configure role in a way so a user can view all jobs, job logs, automations, resources, etc.? For example: speaking about jobs - from what I can see I can either grant Jobs/Access permission (so user can see jobs ran by the user only) or Jobs/Manage (which grants too wide permissions for read only access). Version: FME Server 2022.2.4, Build 22792 - linux-x64

Server apps Microsoft AAD login wrong redirect

If a user follows a direct link to a workspace app or an app gallery, and there is authentication required, a login screen appears. If using 'normal' login with username / password, after login the user gets redirected to the URL in the workspace link., which is correct. However, if I use a Microsoft Azure AD login ('log in with microsoft'), the user always gets redirected to de base URL of FME server and not to the app. Is there somewhere a setting we should set to redirect to the url of the app instead of the base url ?

How do you manage Version Control between Flow and Form?

We have enabled Version Control to an external repository on FME Flow. Are there any best practices for managing Workbenches in development in FME Form? My current thought, which I haven't spent much time developing, is to recommend that once a Workbench is uploaded to Flow, the desktop version is archived and any future work on the Workbench must be done by Downloading from Flow and Republishing. Basically, to insist that all work must be done from Workbenches from Flow. The downside I can see from this is that there is no way to force developers to follow that. Any suggestions?

In Apps, change the word OK in the OK button to RUN

Hello Forum, In FME Flow's App builder I would like the word in the OK button to be 'Run' instead of 'OK'. This is because OK, is often thought of as also meaning close (yes, I know the users could just close the browser tab). But of course, in the case of FME Flow Apps OK most definitely means 'run it'. So, it would be better if the word OK was replaced by Run. I've looked in Flow Apps>Manage Workspace Apps>(click the App in question)>Customise, but there doesn't seem to be an option to change the wording of the OK button. Any ideas? Thanks,Stuart

What do I do when the Backup_Configuration schedule is missing from my express installation?

I performed the express install of FME Flow 2023. Then I restored a backup from FME Server 2021. I do not see the backup schedule promised at https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME-Flow/AdminGuide/Perform_Scheduled_Backup.htm. Did my restore over write it? How can I automate a backup of FME Flow?

Install/Upgrade to Latest flow fails to start - The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption

When doing a start of the services after the DB has been initialized; I get this... com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target". Have verified the Server/Port pair are correct, as well as verified the port accessibility from the Flow Server to the DB.

Is there a way to remove 'optional' text for non-required parameters in a Flow app?

Hi all, Is there a way to remove the word '(optional)' when generating a Flow App?I find unnecessary text too noisy for the user...they don't need to see the text (optional) on the app. Be good if there was an option to turn this prompt off?? thanks,Tim

Data upload in Flow App not working (stacktrace attached)

A user created a Flow App with a data upload but the upload is not working (no response from server). The stacktrace below shows that the backend cannot connect to some HTTPS endpoint. How can I find out what endpoint it is trying to connect to? Some config variable? This is a distributed FME Flow 2023.1.1.1 installation on Ubuntu 22.04. Flow auto-reading changes made to workspaces in Form

Hi Group, Imagine I create a workspace in Form which is then published to Flow. I'd then run this via Flow, and it runs fine. But if I then make a change in the original workspace in Form (even a tiny change like change the destination of a writer, or add a new transformer somewhere), do I then have to republish the workspace from Form to Flow? Or does Flow automatically pick up on changes made to the workspace in Form? Thanks,Stuart

Anyone know why the spike remover isn't working in this example?

I have a 3D dataset of lines several lines contain large spikes - like the one in the screen shot and attached template. I tried using the SpikeRemover but it doesn't seem to work - Does the Spike remover just not work on spike in the Z direction - the documentation doesn't really help identify why it doens't work? Failing that is there another way to remove points like the (z points which are about 100 meters off from the expected position). I started going down the line of extracting coordinates and trying to identify them that way but it seems like there must be a better way

PostGIS Writer gives massive numbers of warnings

Hi, We have recently upgraded our FME Server 2021.* to FME Flow 2023.1.1.1 Build 23636. Many of our workspaces work fine but some have started to take much more time. 1h30m copying 619855 features from SQL server to PostGIS in FME Flow with 15828934!!! warnings vs. 4m in FME Form with 530 warnings. The warnings are of this type (both Flow 2023 and Form 2023 - none in FME 2021):2023-11-14 14:01:50| 186.1| 0.0|WARN |POSTGIS Writer: Renamed user attribute 'DW_TimeStamp' to 'dw_timestamp' based on format constraints for invalid characters, length, and caseIs this behaviour due to the fact that our workspaces in FME flow 2023 still are in version 2021? Schedule Manager - Total Runs auto-refresh?

In Manage Schedules, there is a column named "Total Runs"; this tells you how many times a Schedule has been run; is there a FME Flow Setting to have a particular Schedule "auto-refresh" the Total Runs at a specific interval? Currently, to view the total runs a user needs to refresh the page or step out of and back into Manage Schedules.

Fixed - Web Application Interface not starting - port 8005 in use?

FIXEDWe have encountered a strange problem on FME Server 2020.0.2: all of a sudden the Web Application Interface has stopped working.This happened right after I terminated a job that had run all weekend. In the logging of FME Server we can see all jobs are still run as usual, so it is just a problem with the Web Application Interface. This appears to be a Tomcat problem. The server runs Apache Tomcat 9.0.24. So we checked the latest catalina.<date>.log file. FME Flow and KeyCloak

Hello, we would like to authenticate FME Flow users via „KeyCloak“ application. Our idea is that FME Flow would somehow be connected to the KeyCloak application. The moment a user wants to log in to FME Flow, he would be redirected to KeyCloak, authenticated. KeyCloak passes the information back to the FME Flow application, and user will be logged in. Do you have any experience with FME Flow-KeyCloak collaboration?Keycloak supports protocols OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0 and SAML 2.0.

FME Server New User with Basic fmeuser Role seeing Admin Folders

I have added a new team member into FME Server, with fmeuser role. Basically this user only care read and Run workspaces under Parks repository so in FME Server under Repositories slide-down I set this configurationbut when I checked the user in the Server end point I am seeing this:As you can see two Samples and Tools repositories also listed there! When I check back in Server side, looks like there are some circled-checks on read and run options for these two! Now can you guys pleas let ne know how I can force this user to ONLY have access into Parks repository using the fmeuser role.
