Hi. I have some aggregated solids. In 2D view, they are like the attached image. I want to exactly convert them to polygon, keeping the inner lines (not a footprint). Do you know how can I do that?
Hello, Is there a way to capture a screen shot from a URL through FME?https://ds.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/c8f1c81fa9d041da8de7fe5ea9193c7fI'd also like to be able to select certain parishes and take screen shots. Thanks,Ana
I have some simple polygons in a shapefile where, for texturing purposes, it is important where the first edge is compared to other features. I created a workspace that explodes the polygons and reorders the edges based on the other features. At this point everything looks good. However, when I use AreaBuilder to rebuild the polygons, on some (most are ok), the edge ordering is not maintained. How can I keep the edge order I want?
I need to download data from this site website (https://power.larc.nasa.gov/data-access-viewer/) with FME, could someone help me or have you already managed to do it? Thank´s
I need your help about FME Quick Translator For using Infraworks,When I try to translate CityGML to IMX with this software, I can’t avoid the below problem. I copy the error message,>>This workspace requires a Python 2.7 interpreter, but FME could not find one to load. Consider updating Python code in the workspace to be Python 3.x compatible, then change `Navigator > Workspace Parameters > Scripting > Python Compatibility' to a Python 3.x option. Alternatively, reinstall FME with the Python 2.7 optional component enabled>>Python is not available. BEGIN/END Python disabled” I tried to fix it, but couldn’t find “Navigator” panel in FME Quick Translator Please tell me solution about this problem Thank you for reading and I’m waiting your reply
I am running a test workspaces closely derived from offset_reproject_vector test workspace in the FME Desktop 2021.1 SDK (this file is located in C:\\Program Files\\FME\\pluginbuilder\\samples\\cpp\\test). When I run it in FME this error is displayed: BADNEWS: Module 'TFS_VARIABLESCHEMA' is unavailable for use with this FME edition. The derived test workspace is in the same test folder as the offset_project_vector test project. How do I resolve this?
Hello everyone, I have road file. May i know how to find slope percent at every 12m.
I'm trying to filter records for the last three years of data but want to avoid having to edit the transformer on a yearly basis (ie. TestFilter: Year= 2021, Year= 2020, Year = 2019 - necessitating a yearly update at the change of the year). I'm hoping to find a way to set up an attribute filter or test filter that can be set on the relative time frame (ie. Year = this year, Year = last year, Year = two years ago). I'm guessing there is a simple way to do this with the text editor but I haven't been able to figure it out!
I have a table that i managed to extract 2 coordinates, but the coordinates don't show up for all rows how can i do this? Another question is that I'm going to process several files with different values for these two fields, how can I repeat the values for each different file too? Thanks
Using FME Desktop 2021. I have an existing field LicenseNumber with null values and with numeric values. I want to create a new field called License_Values into a table if the following conditions are met: Condition 1If LicenseNumber is null Then assign null values to License_Values Condition 2If LicenseNumber is not null (it has values) Then assign 123 to License_Values I tried AttributeCreator with a Condition value but it does not work at all. All it does is assign 123 to every record in the new field called License_Value (Condition 2) and it does not write the null values to License_Value (Condition 1) . My final objective is to have the new field with null values and 123 as long as the conditions are met. Thank you, much appreciated.
How to add points with numbers (1,2,3,4,......) over each point in pdf file .i have 20 points and i would like to write in pdf file but i have to count points and add the counting over each point .and what is the best method to resize the point ?How could i achieve that ? Thanks for helpFme 2018
Hi FME colleagues,Neighbor finder transformer finds the nearest neighbor and allotting the same candidate to multiple bases. In my requirement, I need to pair the points from two set of data, but one base one candidate, that means one candidate should not be paired with more than one base.for ex : I have two sets of data, one is Blue and the other is REd. Now, first, the blue base comes and finding its closest candidate (good). Now the second base comes in and finds the same candidate which is already paired with the first blue base. this should not happen in my case, if it's already paired(i mean the closest candidate to some other base) then remove it from the candidate set. the candidate set should go smaller and smaller through the fme process. now what our neighbor finder does is matching with all bases to first(1) candidates. many to one. can we achieve this using any transformer? or any workaround within FME using python caller?
As the title says, is it possible to creating multiple 2D Min/Max boxes with one creator? Or do I need to have multiple creators, one for each box/ string of coordinates?
I have 1 dataset with many overlapping features. These overlaps tend to have a different feature name. I have been given a list that tells me which name takes priority over the other. I want to find the overlaps and then just carry through the areas that take priority. For instance ancient woodland trumps everything. Building footprints trump everything else. Wetlands and pumping stations trump grassed areas. I have started with an AreaOnAreaOverlayer, generating a list (OverlapAttributes), AreaCalculator, Counter and Tester, where the _overlaps > 1. I've then added a ListExploder. Where the '_area', '_count' and '_overlaps' are the same, I want to only take the feature with the highest priority name. Am I going about this the right way?I'm a lost as to where to go from here! Attached is some test data and my workbench so far. Thank you!
Hello All, very new to FME, at this moment, I'm generating some nice 3D models converting FBX to KML. The purpose of these is effectively creating a 'radiation' zone. Are there any clever tricks in FME for creating some sort of line/boundary/something when the edges of that KML intersects with a 3D Building in Google Earth? I think this is one of these things where someone says 'absolutely' or 'actually, that's a really good idea! ' Thoughts very much appreciated! TIA Colin....
Hello everyone.Apologies for the lack of what's up Wednesday last week. It just means there is more to share this time! FME Community SurveyAre you a member of the FME Community? By "community" I don't just mean this particular site; it could be any site where FME is discussed, such as Twitter, Slack, Reddit, or YouTube even. Basically, if you talk FME or interact with any other users online, I'd be really grateful if you took a survey on the current state of the community. I'm working on improving our community offerings, and this survey will help to guide much of what I'm doing. The survey is available online until October 1st, 2021. Thanks 🙂 Recent TweetsOn the subject of community, I wanted to give a shoutout to Safe partner Red Geographics, who are celebrating their 17th anniversary today. So congratulations to Community Champion Hans and his team for their excellent FME work. Also on Twitter, partner IMGS mentions their upcoming FME Intelli
Hello FMEers,Here's your weekly look at what's new in the world of FME. Community UpdatesA very nice and just-released update to the FME online community is a reputation leaderboard: It covers the top 100 users, excludes Safers, and lets you sort by Rank, Level or Reputation. Thanks to Fahad at Safe for implementing this. I think there are more updates to come and I'm really looking forward to them. On the subject of community, thank you to everyone who has taken our community survey so far. The information is going to be a great help in moving us forward. If you haven't taken it yet, it takes about 10 minutes you can find it online here. New ReleaseToday we release FME 2021.1.2 (build 21627). I don't see any changes in the ChangeLog (What's New) file, so I looked at our developer logs and I see fixes for: composite tests in the Tester (valid tests flagged as invalid) a crash that was exhibited by the LogWriter hub transformerreplaced geocoder with a hub pack
Hi,I have used the online tool to create a custom coordinate system. I use the WKT, where among other parameters, the ellipsoid is defined:........SPHEROID["GRS 1980",6378137,298.257222101,........ I also select GRS80 as elipsoid in here : I unzip the generated files at the "FME" folder inside the "Documents" folder, as stated: But when I go to the "Reprojector" transformer and search for my new custom coordinate system, I see that there is no defined ellipsoid: So, when I run the process, there is an error: What is going on?Thanks!
Hello, I am trying to create a workspace for doing a batch identification of information contained in tables within some pdf files, the thing is that the pdf also contains some other information as text, so I am a little bit confused on how to achieve that, and also if it will work with different tables, because the dataset I have was made by multiple authors so they are different tables on each pdf. I am wondering if it would be better to use a external application or a PythonCaller to achieve that, but before trying that out I would like to confirm first. I am attaching a sample pdf of my dataset so you can see the table that is in it. Thank you!
Hello,I am trying to generate centerlines from IFMEDonuts/Polygons derived from CAD floor plans. The majority of these lines are fine, but there are a handful of instances where it ignores the shape of the polygon or creates an anomaly. I understand that it does not bring the line all the way to the bounds of the polygon (maybe a setting in the next version? hint hint). This might account for a few of these issues, but not all. Here are a few screenshots with problem areas circled in blue:Any ideas? UPDATE: I was able to resolve a few of them by Intersector, Chopper, HorizontalAngleCalculator, Rounder, then TestFilter any lines not orthogonal. I also used the SmartCleaner to extend, join lines against the polygon, then Smartcleaner again on just the centerlines, but set Extend to 0 and Overshoot to 6. This cleaned up most of the anomalies, but the areas ignored by the centerline and others remain. Ultimately, I think CenterlineReplacer needs an update, but any workarounds in the m
I have balcony drawings as attached files two sample data. I want to calculate the thickness of the balconies as seen in the picture. is there a transformer for that?
I have several sketchup files. I need to merge those files into single file. I am new to FME. can someone suggest easy way to do this?
We are new to FME and just have FME server up and running now. We are in the process of moving some of our existing workflows that we have built using FME extension for ArcGIS and so far we're having success publishing. We have some workspaces that error when we try and run them because we reference Python for Esri 3.6+ or Python 2.7. So far these particular workspaces haven't really needed arcpy so we just changed the parameter in the workspace and republished and they ran ok. Our server is a single, standalone machine with all components running locally. A little about the machine: We have 8GB RAM, 40GB free space on disk right now, it's a virtual machine running on hyperflex with 1 socket and 2 virtual processors (2.39GHz). So now I'm wondering if we should install ArcGIS Pro and or ArcGIS Desktop (for python 2.7) on the FME server machine so we can allow our GIS team to migrate some of their arcpy scripts to FME that do use arcpy. It would help them manage t
The LAS files are in different folders and unfortunately in each folder the Source ID is starting in 1, so in 100 folders I have 100 files with Source ID 1. I would like to keep all the other attributes but have an exclusive sequential number per each Sorce ID file.
Good morning to everyone! My purpose is to build a Workspace (father) able to divide in N equal subsets some zipped files located in a path, then pass every group to a Workspace runner that will call another dedicated Workspace (son) that will do the job I need. The question is: how can I parallelize this process?I mean, I have built the first Workspace (father) and it works quite well but unfortunately I'm able to process just a single Subset at a time (First Workspace Son), finished the first one the process pass to the second flow and so on, until the end.I would like to start all the Workspace runners simultaneously. Is it possible? How? Every Workspace (son) will write on a different Geodatabase.Thank you very much to everyone who will answer. P.S.FME v 2020.0 (Data Interoperability 2.6)I have uploaded a picture of the Father Workspace.
