Greetings everyone,I have a large number of 2D polygons for which I want to determine the Z value. I also have a DTM (digital terrain model).Now I have observed the following: If I take only one polygon and, using the FeatureReader, read in only exactly those triangles of the DTM that are touched by the polygon in 2D, and then determine the Z values of the polygon using the SurfaceDraper (always carrying forward only z_max and using that as the Z value via the 3D_Forcer), I get different Z values than when I first create a buffer around the polygon and then pass the buffer to the FeatureReader and include the triangles around the polygon in the SurfaceDraper.The triangles from the DTM do not touch each other.There are deviations of several meters, depending on how strongly the terrain height varies around the polygon.It seems as if the SurfaceDraper somehow takes the surrounding terrain into account, even if it does not touch the polygon.It

I try to find a text ending with a newline. Using the inbuilt regular expression editor (with the regex #! <DATASET\n) shows a result so the regex looks correct to me:StringSearcher unfortunately doesn’t find the line: (see attached workbench)Where are things going wrong?

Hi,I have a very simple workbench that is cliping a gpkg containing mulitple layer. I am struggling with writinng them back to one gpkg using dynamic schema. it fails every single time  

I am reading the feature classes and tables from an Oracle Reader, and many of those are not having any records, the tables are empty. But I want all of those in my ESRI FGDB output which I am using in the Feature Writer dynamically. How to achieve this? Any leads?

Hi,  Has anyone else noticed that when you use an attribute creator in your model, or renamer, or in your manager where you reuse an existing field, it works perfectly in your model but is not transferred when you write it to your shapefile? I always have to use a separate creator at the end This used to be no problem at all. I am now using 2025.2, but I had already noticed this in version 1.

Yesterday, after completing a first draft workspace, I showed my canvas to a colleague and they commented on how bizarre 🤢 my transformers appeared.I’d been painstakingly aligning my transformers by port - so that the output of a transformer would lead directly into the input of the following transformer. Greetings everyone, when taking FME Certified Professional exam on Talview, is it allowed to make use of AI assistant on the FME Workbench/FME Form?

I have noticed some folks including “FMEP” after their name on LinkedIn. I assume this is a designation that they passed the FME Certified Professional exam.Is this a generally accepted way of indicating this certification? Does Safe have guidelines about using this abbreviation?

Probably splitting hairs here but I’m wondering what peoples preferences are for Tester vs TestFilterI have a Tester where I’m testing for someAttribute = someValue. this is case one. case two is where is fails the test.As it is on it’s own it’s not clear at all why or what the point of the test is. Using a TestFilter would let me define the output port names making it much clearer as to the purpose of the test without needing an annotation.Thoughts? Does anyone do this for the sake of clarity in a workspace? 

Hello, I find FME forums very helpful for problem solving and rectification of technical issues. I was wonderingif there is a space less about technical issues and inquiries, and more about tips, tricks, and generally fun/informative FME information folks might want to share.

I’ve been finding lately that having an AI write code for me and just run it is becoming almost trivial, and as an FME user it’s starting to make me feel pretty obsolete. Of course there are still a tonne of caveats and you still need to be careful, but with the recent rollout of Visual Studio’s “Agent” mode to everyone the reality is fast approaching that it may be easier to create a free python based application to do a specific task than to write a workspace. Understanding these AI tools well is hands down just going to make you much more productive. But this can only be true is you can actually use them in your work which in the FME world it’s so far not so easy.For me one of the main benefits of using FME is that I don’t need to spend time writing code, but now that I can have the AI do much of the work I’m really wondering about the future of FME - Especially to juniors - If someone has to spend time learning FME vs asking an AI to create a python app t

Hi All,I have just posted a technical question and the FME platform showed a text box saying that my question has gone to the moderator to approve?Has this new workaround been recently implemented? or maybe the hyperlinks included in the post need to be checked? Just wanted to confirm :) 

I would be interested in a dark/night mode for the community. This may be something that is already on the roadmap for future development. Perhaps another community poll could help determine how many others would also like a dark mode in the future?
