Excel Header Style - ExcelStyler or FeatureWriter?

Hi All, I'm putting a workflow together to help me QA some data and the final output will be an excel file with some fields as info, Below an example of the desired output which the header is bigger thna the normal rows and the QA QC field says pass in green and fail in red: Is this possible using the ExcelStyler or need to use the FeatureWriter? Automation to detect any workspace that failed on FME server as soon as it happened and send an email to a specific email address.

The link https://community.safe.com/s/article/send-email-from-automations is enough when you want to send an email from an automation but it does not cover what I'm looking for. I would like have in place an automation that will (i) detect any workspace that failed on FME server as soon as it happened and (ii) send an email to a specific email address. How should I proceed to achieve this double objective?

AGOL Feature Writer - FME2020.2.3 - Feature Service parameter via attribute

Hi I am setting up a job to update data in AGOL using FME Desktop 2020.2.3 I am aiming to have a single job which I will publish to our FME Server to refresh the data on schedule. I have multiple Feature Services to update and am hoping to use a single Feature Writer to update them. In my workspace I generate the Service ID and am passing through to the Feature Writer Feature Service constraint parameter. This works successfully when the Feature Writer only updates a single Feature Service however when I try multiple it cannot find the Feature Service, it seems to still connect to the first. The log shows that it maintains a connection to the first Feature Service and does not switch to the second. Are there any issues with this methodology? Suggestions for alternatives? Thanks

Creating a dynamic reader template

I'm trying to create a re-usable template that uses a dynamic reader to allow it to read a table from a database, the 'connection', 'feature types to read' and 'where clause' attributes would be defined before the reader but this approach seems to be causing me problems. The process so far looks like this... The FeatureReader looks like this...If I define the connection, table and where parameters within the feature reader everything works fine, the reader recognises the schema and creates an appropriate output port. Using the above approach and defining the same parameters as attributes doesn't create a output port (which I understand as how can it create a port for a feature type it hasn't read yet), next stop was the generic port but I can't seem to get anything useable out of this. I've read numerous articles on here about using a feature merger to merge the schema and the generic ports but this doesn't seem to give me anything useab

How to create a navigation tree in FME for GeoJSON file (to be utilised in ArcGIS Pro) - sourced from CSV

what is the easiest way to automate adding previously created domains to a new FGDB in FME ? or is it possible to manually recreate them in AttributeManager (similar to how you can create alias') ? similar to how it is in ARCPRO show below

Draw a box with four points using polygon from line builder

I'm trying to draw a box given four vertex creators, I couldn't get the polygon section to work from line builder - any tips on making this more efficient, I feel like four line builders is not the most elegant solution (although it works.) Thank you.

I am wanting to make a file to open in ArcGIS Pro with a navigation tree layout (grouped and nested by 4 attributes) and a heatmap of the coordinate densities. What is the best writer file format?

Hi all, I have a dataset (CSV) of different types of trees (type, colour, flower, etc) and I want to open this dataset in ArcGIS Pro. I want it to have a navigation tree and a heatmap based on dense areas. I am new to FME and wondering how I do this and what the best output file format is for the structure I am wanting? I am struggling to find any direction of approach to this specifically. I have done similar in KML with Google Earth, although couldn't implement a heat map, and it is slow with my dataset.

Reading/Writing ArcGIS Enterprise Branch Version Service

From my testing, when reading data that is branch versioned from an ArcGIS Enterprise Feature Layer, it seems there is a limitation on the FME Reader side as to how many layers can be in the ArcGIS Feature Service. For example, if I publish a service which has one layer, the FME reader can read successfully. But, if I publish as service which has multiple layers, the FME Reader reads the schema, but fails to read features. Are there any known requirements or limitations in FME readers and writers when connecting to branch versioned ArcGIS Enterprise Feature Layers? Has anyone else seen this behavior? If so, what workarounds do you use? I would like to avoid having mulitple published services for a logical grouping of data. Thanks in advance!

Mulitple files to process with one workspace

I have multiple files landing in a folder that is watch to trigger a wksp.2 files go together but don't always have exactly the same name. (they will be similar.) There will also be multiple folders where these files can land and be processed. I need to know several things.1 idea for parsing the file names of separate file types to get them matched into the same wksp. like maybe they land at the same time?2 is it possible to use 1 automation to watch and file both file types and use them to kick off 1 wksp? image 13 all the jobs coming in will be moved to 1 of 3 folders when process is complete using a file mover. Do i need three qutomations in my wlrkspace to tell the file mover where to move the package (both files) or can this be done with the dataset value (being parsed in the file mover wksp? see image 2 IT is also possible that files will land in both incoming locations at the same time. the file types would be the same but the file name would be different I found some inform

Triggering an automation when a job has been successfully completed WITH error messages.

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to trigger an automation once a job has been SUCCESSFULLY completed BUT contains errors. See job 56207 in the attachment as an example. The automation itself should then initiate another job. So far, I haven't found a successful way to accomplish this seamlessly and efficiently. I've considered monitoring "/FME_SHAREDRESOURCE_LOG/engine/current/jobs" through an automation, but since I want it to automatically start a new job, it creates an infinite loop. The system events 'Error Message Logged' and 'Warning Message Logged' also do not allow me to trigger a new job via automations based on my conditions. I'm curious to hear your insights.

Extrude edges, surface

Hello,Is there a good approach to extrude only outer edges from top image? Images below extrudes all faces (internal as well) but am only interested in extruding (external faces). Basically thinking of top image as a building roof, altough it's a terrain and extruding to "walls". On the lowest image I used PlanarityFilter to try filter faces at bottom but doesn't feel like a good approach.Thanks.

Create polygons from set points.

Hi, I have a number of points which I like to create triangle polygons from to form a sort of elevation wall. The desired way of creating them is to have the lower ground (red points) as focus. Let's say the first two points (A and B) derives from upper green points, then the third point (C) would be the closest vertical red point. Please see illustrated image and attached file. Thanks!

Anyone had success using a 3D route network in the ShortestPathFinder?

From my tests it seems apparent that the ShortestPathFinder only works correctly in 2D. The route will snap between different levels even through the network is noded correctly. Has anyone had any success applying a shortest path algorithm to a complex 3D network, for example a building containing multiple floors with overlapping routes/nodes in 2D?

I am trying to read an S-57 (*.000) file with extended attributes. Attributes created by CARIS software but not in the S-57 Spec. I have tried to create a custom format with and with out a custom attribute file (CSV). That does not seem to be working

Reading multiple files from multiple zipfiles

I have a bit of a dilemma. I'm setting up a self-serve workflow where the end-user will have to upload some files and then run them through a validation and processing workspace. The files that are needed are 1 mid/mif and 5 csv's with different schema's. To make things easier I want the user to zip them all up and upload them as a single file. I'm using a File user parameter then point that to a Generic reader which reads [somethingsomething].zip\\*.* and then use wildcards to match them to the specific feature types. This works fine if a single zip file is processed. However... this data is grouped by region and the customer indicated that sometimes they need multiple regions. Plus... features from two adjacent regions may actually geographically coincide, so the processing workspace needs to have them both at the same time. I set up the File parameter to handle multiple files as input, split the value and then run them through a FeatureReader. That's where the i

The FME 2023.2 version has a problem with tiling and writing PNG* ? It takes so long time to work.

I have a large GeoTIFF file (11Mb after using compressing JPEG 75% and building Paramyd 6 Level Bicubic). And then tiling it with WebMapTiler, the result is 115,851 tiles.My Workspace:FME 2023.1 takes 1h15m to complete tiling and writing it.FME 2023.2 takes so long time and uses a lot of RAM and I can't wait, I don't know how long it will take actually. Do I mistake something?Everybody help!Many thanks.
