Controlling scale in geospatial pdf

I am trying to create a series of geospatial pdf files that are at a fixed scale.  The overall map extents of my data varies and when I generate my pdf files each sizes to fit the frame which results in different scales for each file.  Is there a way to force each to be the same set scale.  I thought about creating a box that would give me the desired scale at my frame size and then centering this box over each area.  Is there another easier method for setting the scale that I am overlooking?  I have only been working with the pdf writer for a short time so I could very easily be missing something.

Overlapping clippers

I'm using overlapping clipping features and I'd like any clippee features that are either INSIDE or CLIPPED_INSIDE more than one clipper feature to receive the attributes from all clipper features they're affected by. I thought I'd done this succesfully before, but it looks like I can't get it to work, the clippee's get the attributes from the first clipper feature, if they're vector features. Rasters behave exactly as I want them to.

G'day,  Is it possible to configure FME Server that only a certain Engine will run certain Workbenches and if so, what property within FME Workbench could be set for FME Server to detect?  Cheers,

Calling pl/sql procedures (Oracle)

a) A question similar to the "PostgreSQL Scirpt (.SQL)" one: is there a way of calling Oracle PL/SQL procedures inside a FMW workflow?   b) How can I call a DB procedure after the writer is completed, as a post-process item in the FMW workflow? For example, recreating the indexes after writing data.

FME Server Data Download configuration

In FME Server 2011 SP2, how do I configure the data download URL sent to the requester in the email, to show/use a preconfigured name in the URL versus the actual server name and port? For instance the download URL may look like this: http://myrealservername:80/fmedatadownloadresults/FME_7F685958_1352851611722_5036.zip. How do I configure it so that I can alias the server name and port for something other than the actual server name? Also is there a way to allow the user to name their FME results so it's not a long list of numbers/characters for their zip file (which would also make it easier to find specific log files when debugging workspace results)?  Thanks!

It is very useful to load charts through FME, but failed to load a chart which has the size of 28MB. Do you have an experience to load a chart with a big size ? How big is acceptable in FME ?

Some raster questions...

Hi all,  just started using fme to do my raster processing and am thrilled with the quality and speed of the output. That said I can't seem to figure out a couple of things. Perhaps you all might be able to assist.  1) When I mosaic images and push into jp2, the empty areas end up black, is there a way to make the empty areas transparent?  2) Is there a way to produce prj files for my output images based on the output projection?

Tkinter in the included Python

Does anyone know if Tkinter will be wholly included in the included version of Python for FME? Currently I can import the module, but I get an error saying that TCL might not be installed properly. In the past Tkinter has been excluded from FME's Python, but I think the ability to be able to present a form to the user in the startup script would be useful

Getting a geodb_type of geodb_polygon for point features

This is both a question and an answer, in case it helps anyone else out.  If you take point features from an SDE featureclass and put them through the PointOnAreaOverlayer, features coming out of the Point port can have the geodb_type set to geodb_polygon.  This is because the original features did not have that attribute, so they inherit the attribute from the area.  Then when you write them to a geodatabase, like a personal gdb, they get dropped because they have the wrong type to be written into a point featureclass.  You get a "WARN | Came across an invalid polygon with fewer than 3 vertices.  Skipping the polygon ...."  Confusingly, the number of features that show they are written are the total number, not the actual number, so if you don't examine your output, you may not realize you're losing features.  The workaround is to place an AttributeRenamer on the point features with geodb_type set to geodb_point  This is PR#37731 but I haven't seen anything that

Batch files not completing

I have FME batch files that will run manually, but when started by the Windows scheduler they get hung when attempting to open a geodatabase.  I suspect this is a Window scheduler problem, but I will glady accept any suggestions/thoughts.  Below is the last couple of lines of the log file.   |INFORM|Loaded module 'GEODATABASE_FILE' from file 'C:\\app\\FME\\GEODATABASE9.dll' 0|INFORM|FME API version of module 'GEODATABASE_FILE' matches current internal version (3.7 20111219) |INFORM|Opening the Geodatabase reader    Have any of you out there in FME Land experienced a similar problem?

Hi, I write DWG Autocad Files 2004. If I open the DWG File with the Autocad DWG TrueView I didn't find the graphic, because the zoom window is far away. It's difficult to find the graphic. What can I do? Thanks a lot Ulf
