Help using a parameter in the text editor to make calculations based on user input.

Long time listener, first time caller.Newish to FME and was attempting to use a user parameter for the first time to allow the user to input the number of days they need to pull data. I have the parameter and the initial formula working fine. DaysPulled is my user parameter: @DateTimeFormat(@DateTimeAdd(@DateTimeNow(),-P$(DaysPulled)D),%Y%m%d) The problem I'm running into is later on in the flow I need to use that user input and add a number to it, effectively turning the user parameter into DaysPulled +1 and DaysPulled+2. I've been beating my head against the wall trying to modify DatePulled using add, sum, +1, etc and can't find the right format to get what I need. Example of failed attempt.@DateTimeFormat(@DateTimeAdd(@DateTimeNow(),-P@add(1,$(DaysPulled))D),%Y%m%d) Can anyone point me towards a solution?

Writer not working, it used to but not now. probably due to type of format per column?

New to FME. I can't figure out why my writer (a .gdb) isn't writing anymore. I built a step by step PointOnArea inspection on 4.5mil addresses against specific shapefile polygons. I keep all 4.5mil and I just add a column that represents each polygonarea. In AttrMgr I reassign the 1's and 0's to Yes or NO. Everything runs awesome until I try to write the data. It stops immediately. The transformer message is very long but pretty much says something is wrong with every column and row.

Combining Maps With Clikable Links in One PDF File.

Hello FME community, I am new to working with PDFs in FME and Python. I have two input files as following: 1. The first file is a PDF named “all_maps.pdf” with around 1000 pages. Each page represents a single map, and the page number serves as the ID for each map. 2. The second file is a shapefile named “main_map.shp.” It contains mesh squares for the entire area, and each square represents a map in the PDF file with a unique attribute called “ID.” This ID corresponds to the map ID (page number) in the PDF file. My aim is to combine the outputs of both datasets into a single PDF file, totaling 1001 pages. The primary map in the “main_map shapefile” should be on the first page, followed by the other 1000 maps, each with clickable links for every square on the first page. The objective is for the user to click on a specific square and navigate to the corresponding map in the same file. For instance, if the user clicks on square number 60, the PDF should scroll down to page number 61

How to make Heat Maps/Hot Spot Maps in KML using FME Workbench

Hi all,I'm new to FME and there is a lot to learn. I have been trying to research into how to generate a heat map (Hot Spot Map) in KML for Google Earth using FME Workbench (2019.2). I can't find an approach or forum that explains how to do it. Could anyone provide some tips on the process of transformers required to generate this? I currently have all my data plotted on Google Earth, I want to transform the plots into heat maps of dense areas. If anyone has knowledge on this, I would love to discuss this. Thanks in advance!

All 10 engines not available for a shared FME flow 2023.1 database

I have a issue in which your urgent help is required. I have a shared FME flow 2023.1 database which is accessed via two nodes. Both nodes have 5 engines each.When I check from fme flow url I can see all 10 engines ( 5 from each node) available. But if jobs are fired then only 5 engines become available and 5 always show idle.Please help to resolve this issue as it is stopping us from upgrading to latest FME flow.

Visual Preview has filter but gives me more rows/records than what I'm filtering on. Why?

I saw a filter area in Visual Preview and wanted to inspect my data to make sure I got the same number of rows as my source data has which was 92,688. I did not. I'm not sure why. I filtered on the column that has 92,688 entries, but what was returned was 93,231 (543 empty rows/records). I have no empty rows in any of my source data either. I'm using FeatureJoiner to bring over a column that was not in my original data. The two source files have a common attribute: LocationID. The Source file has 4,500,626 rows, and my joining source file has 92,688. When I joined the data it came back with the 4,500,626 rows with my added column and data (92,688). So why does my filter show 543 blank rows more?

FME Workbench won't start. Related to ucrtbase.dll

When i start the program FME Workbench version 2021.1.2 and 2021.2.6, the system start up as expected. But when i try to start FME Workbench 2022.2.2, 2022.2.4, 2022.2.5 or FME Form 2023.0 the start window appears. Why does HTTPCaller send errors on FME-server

Hi,Using FME Desktop 2022.2.1.0 against FME Server 2022.2.2. Using an HTTPCaller to download a ZIP file (60MB) from a remote host, FME server (Windows 2019) started sending errors from a certain point in time. the workbench in FME Desktop still runs well. Earlier downloads using this HTTPCaller worked fine with same settings in HTTPCaller. Attached the error log. Any ideas? Kind Regards,Gerro

Dealing with Gaps and Overlaps in Land Use Data - Need Help!

Hi,I'm working with land use data derived from satellite imagery, and I've encountered a persistent issue with gaps and overlaps. I've already use TopologyBuilder and AreaGapAndOverlapCleaner transformer in FME, and while they've resolved some areas effectively, there are still instances where gaps persist, and some areas have been unintentionally cut off.I've experimented with reducing the tolerance values, but the problem persists. Has anyone faced similar challenges, and do you have any suggestions or alternative approaches to address this issue effectively?Your insights and expertise would be greatly appreciated!

How do I create "points" and import to 3ds max

Hello Sir/ Madam, So I have a .txt file with Points Name, X, Y, Z. So I would like to create points and import in 3ds Max. My .txt table is as follow Point X Y ZA 822041.761 833958.234 13.519B 821997.708 833954.943 16.341 I create points by using vertex creator transformer. Then I convert to .dxf and import to 3ds Max. It works fine. However, all the points are named "Point" in 3ds Max. Is there anyway that I can use the Point name "A", "B", etc instead of point? Other formats is fine, as long as I can get the coordinates and point name. Hope somebody can give me a hand. Thank you.

Uploading file via API (HTTPCaller)

G'day, We have some Asset software which has an API available, on the most part we are interfacing with the API well. There is an upload component which I have never been able to automate, yet I can use the manual swagger page to test it out no worries. The swagger page with the /api/geo/add_geo_package can be found here - https://api-albury.conquest.live/swagger/#/GeoPackageImportService/GeoPackageImportService_AddGeoPackage Basically, I need to manually click 'choose file' from the webpage, which I can do, but I want to automate this step using FME, so I don't know how to replace the manual "choose file" button with a simple file path location to tell it where the file is currently located. I have just noticed there is an 'upload file' option in FME, I am trying to implement this, it seems straightforward, so I have setup my tranformer as per this screenshot: This runs well, but the _output field is empty, and the swagger site provided above states

SQL Server Spatial Error with upgrade to 2023.1

We have upgraded to FME FLOW 2023.1. Now the workbenches that write or read to to our SQL Server Spatial - SDE MS SQL Server 2012 fail. It looks like an SSL certificate error. Microsoft SQL Server Spatial Writer: Failed to connect using Microsoft OLE DB Driver 19 for SQL Server. Provider error '(-2146893019) SSL Provider: The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted. '. Connection string 'Provider=MSOLEDBSQL19;Data Source=djskfjdksfjslfjslf-sqlserver-se.cdvhtvcfec0o.ap-southeast-2.rds.amazonaws.com;Initial Failed to open writer MSSQL_SPATIAL writer: An error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details. Not sure what is going on and how to fix it. The workbenches on FME Form fail as well with the same error.

Regarding how to access the sftp location using private key in Fme server configured in Linux Env.

I want to upload a file to sftp location and we have only private key for connecting. I tried using system caller by keeping this command inside that :sftp -i <private_key_path> -b - user@hostname <<< 'put <path_file_to_upload> <path_remotepath_where_to_upload>'and also tried with this command also:sftp -o -i <privatekey_path> user@hostname but none of the commands worked in fme server, it is showing as failed to execute the command, Am I giving the correct commands or could anyone help me out on how to connect to sftp using private key in fme server configured on linux env.

ESRI FeatureServer [ArcGISFeatures] Reader Fails to read some layers

I have a workspace in FME Workbench 2022.2 that reads an ESRI ArcGIS Server Feature Service containing 7 layers. It successfully reads all 7 layers and transforms them to the appropriate feature types. That same workspace in FME Form 2023.1.1.1 is able to read in the number of features for all 7 layers but only able to successfully read in the features for 3 of the 7 layers. On the 4 layers that fail it appears to be failing after the first batch of 1000 records are requested. As a test I created a new project with only the FeatureServer reader in FME Form 2023.1.1.1, again same problem. As another test I tried using the MapServer endpoint for the service rather than the FeatureServer endpoint that failed on the 4 layers. I can read an arcgis online feature service and then write to a new sqlserver table. But the new table has no field called unique ID as the primary key. The error is "the layer does not have identity properties".

I created a primary key using SSMS for the new table but I still get the error the layer does not have identity properties.

Hi All, I'm trying to create a workflow that iterates through a folder which contains individual GDBs (e.g. 20 individual GDBs) and then merges the Feature Classes with the same name into a new blank GDB.Any idea how to make that happen?Thanks 🙂

In the writers, under user attributes we can see the table with name, type, of data, width., etc. Is there a way to copy/pate or export this table in csv? I am tasked with data type for multiple outputs, and it would be great not to do so manually.

Cannot Manage Automations as 'fmesuperuser' and 'fmeadmin'

We are attempting to use the Automations > Manage Automations as a built-in user, but when browsing to that page it is blank and there are no automations in the popup list. We've made the user a member of 'fmeadmin' and 'fmesuperuser' but it makes no difference. So far only the 'admin' account is able to Manage Automations.What are the minimum permissions required for users to make this work?

Install/Upgrade to Latest flow fails to start - The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption

When doing a start of the services after the DB has been initialized; I get this... com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: The driver could not establish a secure connection to SQL Server by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. Error: "PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target". Have verified the Server/Port pair are correct, as well as verified the port accessibility from the Flow Server to the DB.

Reading features from Excel with unknown schema

I have FeatureReader transformers within my workspace that are configured to read features from an Excel file. The name and path of the Excel file are variables provided by parameter values, but the Excel sheet name is always the same. The schema of the file is likely to vary every time the workspace is run. I'm really struggling to get any features to read in, and am a bit unsure of where I'm going wrong. From similar posts in the past (eg; https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080hdRJSAY/how-to-expose-attributes-from-featurereader-if-feature-type-is-dynamic) it seems that what I'm trying to do potentially isn't possible without scripting something bespoke in a PythonCaller, but it really seems like something that FME should be able to do. Does anyone have any advice or a working methodology for this sort of problem? Thanks in advance
