Hi,I'm trying to upgrade a FME Flow Hosted instance, but I can't create snapshots from the backups tab, because I get this message "Snapshots not supported for unsupported instances"...How can I get a snapshot of my current instance to restore in the new one ?Thanks 

I have a workspace that writes to a simple Excel sheet. The sheet has 3 columns: Report Name, Upload Date, and Upload Time.In Excel you can set a Filter for each column allowing a user to filter the data in that column. In Excel, I added a Filter to each column, but when I write to the sheet in FME Form, the Filters disappear. Is there a way to “keep” or “add” a Filter to each column in the sheet by tweaking a Writer parameter or is there another Transformer I need to add before the Writer? The screen capture below shows what I would like the sheet to look like:  

Hi All,  I have a table with a 'route_ID' and a measure value (like a event table). On the other hand I have a polyline feature classe.  The attribute 'Name' correspond to route_ID from the table. The measure values are points on the lines. Now the measure values changed by a predetermined value (e.g. the point was 10 m and now the point is 10.5m). My Problem, the Polyline feature class is not defined as route form a linear referencing system. And so the table and the Polylines have no relations. I don't no where (which coordinate) my old and new points are.  Can I build a route feature class with FME? The Basisc should be my polyline Feature Class. I would have assumed a route feature class, how can I creat points (with coordinates) form the table?  Thanks for your help.  Debby

My work colleague is trying and failing to connect to Oracle Spatial.I suspect that her installation of FME is slightly broken and she lacks the access rights to the folder where FME connections are stored.When she goes to Tools | FME Options | Database Connections FME pops up an error message "Unable to retrieve database connections"And she is also unable to create a new database connection.If I knew the folder location, we could check if she has the proper access rights assigned by IT.Thanks,Nick

Can someone expound on this topic a bit, why would someone use Schedules and create Notifications in Schedules when it can be done a whole lot easier in Automations? Example, setting up an email notification in an Automation is just a matter of adding the Trigger --- Workflow --- Email (one for Success and one for Failure if you like). As opposed to going through the brain twisting effort of using Notifications (Classic) to do this.  Automations are so much easier to work with. Does Safe have plans to remove Schedules and Notifications (Classic) in future releases? keep only Automations and improving upon them?

I have XML file with features I'm trying to read.. that works. Next step is to create a polygon for each feature, I have a string with points that make the polygon. String looks like this:  173363.252 587903.412 173363.369 587902.665 173362.055 587900.798 173363.867 587888.745 173364.007 587887.815 173371.744 587888.843 173368.618 587904.7 173363.252 587903.412 That's a list of x and y coordinates, now I can't figure out a idea to make polygons from it. Any ideas? Do I have to seperate them, create lines and make a polygon from it? Any help is appreciated.   

(This is a spin of question from https://community.safe.com/s/feed/0D5OO000004YH4O0AW, but I thought it made sense to rephrase the question) I am trying to run a shell script from SystemCaller but for some weird reason I can not make it work.  My command line is: cd "/Volumes/disc1/test_systemcaller/" && my_script.sh 25 5The numbers at the end are parameters for the script. The error I get from the log file is:sh: my_script.sh: command not foundThe file 'my_script.sh' is placed in the actual folder, so should be found.If I test the file path by asking it to do something simple, eg mkdir, it will happily do so in the right place.If I run the command from Terminal it works fine.  I made a second script in the folder with a mkdir just for testing. While it works fine in Terminal, FME claims to know nothing about it. Since system caller cant find the script file, even though it is in the folder, I guess that something might be wrong with my syntax? I'm on a Mac if that matters. 

I have a workspace that takes a spreadsheet that contains these fields: And I've got that reader feeding into a FeatureReader that grabs the Source Dataset feature classes from a specified .gdb.  I would like to dynamically create a new attribute called "_description" and populate it with the values in the Feature Description column. The values that are referenced in the Feature Description column are not exposed, but I can view the values when I click on a feature in the visual preview. I've tried to use an AttributeCreator with the following parameters:However the output looks like the literal string input values, instead of dynamically grabbing the values from the feature:Is there another way I can achieve this?

Hello - I am retrieving value from "date" field using ArcGIS portal services . It seemed to be in this datetime format ( YYYYMMDDHHMMSS like below screenshot) on UTC time. I would like to change this to local time. Please help on how this can be achieved. Tried using datetime converter, but does not seem to work . Thanks,Naveen

I'm looking at some floating license logs for FME, hoping to build a reporting tool for it. What I've noticed is several cases where one user/machine checks out a number of licences in a short amount of time and check them back in after a while:I assume this is either the user starting multiple instances of one of the FME application on the same machine (or Workbench and Data Inspector) and/or using a WorkspaceRunner. Can anybody confirm that? And more importantly, does every checkout correspond to a checkin? I also assume that as long as there is at least one checkout active for a user/machine that counts as a concurrent license being used, correct?

Pretty simple data export, I have a reader referencing some SDE data and then a writer to a file geodatabase. But reviewing the attributes in the file geodatabase I see that the domain attributes are the codes (1,2.3, etc) not the descriptions (copper, steel, PVC, etc).Is there a way to write the domain descriptions and not codes? The same is true for the subtypes, it is writing the code (1,2,3) and not the description (tap, bend, saddle, etc).

Hi, I have simple workbench where outcome is saved as dynamic schema. Somehow, additional columns are added to attribute table of the feature classes in gdb. Any clue what is going on?

I have a "Directory and File Pathnames" reader that gives me a list of text files in a Windows folder. I want to pass those folder and filenames to a FeatureReader transformer and be able to read the text lines from them as output for further processing, but I can't seem to get anything out of the FeatureReader other than the results of the Directory and File Pathnames that go into it. How do I get the contents of the text files out?

Hi, We recently upgraded from FME Server to FME flow and I've noticed that a few workbenches that contain only one python caller and a creator, are taking up to 10 times longer. Both environments hosting Flow and FME Server are identical in specs. Here are the workspace statistics from each environment FME Server:Average Elapsed: 12 minutes 44 secondsAverage % CPU: 96%Average CPU time: 12minutes 20 secondsAverage Peak Memory Usage 256mb FME flow statistics:Average Elapsed: 53 minutes 42 secondsAverage % CPU: 19.4Average CPU time: 10 minutes 42 secondsAverage Peak Memory Usage 264mb Does FME flow utilize CPU differently when using python, or is there some setting I can change in the form workbench? I can see from the logs that simple arcpy commands are taking 10x longer and the CPU is being under utilized in FME flow. I've looked into the transformer and can't find any processing settings - Is there a setting in FME flow that I need to configure? I can't figure out why

We have some Annotation points all in one feature class. We are looking to find duplicated annotation text that are close to each other. We used the NeighbourFinder and attached the attributes from the neighbouring annotation to the base annotation. This allows us to see that, for example, record OD=1 is close to OD=2. Then a Test Filter is used to check if the TextString is the same on the base annotation when compared to the neighbour.  From the results of the TestFilter we have a list of annotations that can be reviewed as it looks like they are close to each other and have the same text string (which may not be needed).  So, for an example, say there are 100 annotation points that come out of the TestFilter. For each of these points, one of the other points in that selection of 100 points is the point it is related to/neighbouring. So, we don't actually need a list of all 100 points, just 1 of the points from each relationship, resulting in 50 points.  Currently we are

I have two datasets:A calibrated road dataset. Every vertex of the line has the measure value (kilometer point).A table with car accidents with a field that indicates the kilometer point where it happpenedI need to create Point geometries for the accident using both datasets. In other words, I need to create a point event layer.As you can imagine, the accidents don't happen at an exact vertex of the road.Can FME create that point event layer?I've tried using the Snipper transformer, but I'm not getting the results I want.

Hi!I have on my computer a lot of versions of FME (since 2016). I have installed FME form 2023.1.1.1 and 2023.1.2 and I have a problem with FME workbench with these 2 last versions. On my windows session, when I click on the program, a FME windows appear with messages : "checking licensed" then "loading ressources" then "loading transformers" and then "initializing main window". After this message, nothing appear. I tried with an other windows session and it work very well. Same thing with administrator rights (I'm sorry I don't know the good term in english for that). The old versions work very well. Do you have an idea about where come from the problem?Thank you!

Hi,I am wanting to create a count that increases if a condition has been met. So as an example, if TIME is greater than 100 then the COUNT increases, otherwise it stays the same: TIME - COUNT20 - 170 - 1130 - 2220 - 340 - 380 - 3370 - 4 Been stuck trying to figure this out for a while. With Python this would be easier with the use of variables but I am struggling with FME on this one. I see the Count transformer has 'Group By' capability but I don't think that helps me for this situation.

When creating an automation, I find that the "Next Action" boxes will just clutter the workspace and I end up deleting them anyway. Is there any way that anyone is aware of, that they can be hidden by default? Typically, I setup data downloads to refresh data from various other agencies. So I have a single Trigger, which then executes / queues, multiple workspaces. They can definitely be useful if creating smaller workspaces, so this is where a toggle button would be useful!
