We used an XMLTemplater (2022.2) to generate an xml message using Excel file input with some optional columns.The XML template contains some if structures like this :            {            if (fme:has-attribute("STATUS")) then <Info> <keyName>STATUS</keyName> <value>{fme:get-attribute("STATUS")}</value> </Info>            else()            }The output xml is correct, but contains empty lines for every missing column, which we want to avoid.Leaving out the else() clause is not allowed as it results in a parsing error.How can we avoid those empty lines in the output xml ?

Hi,I'm trying to ingest log files into Azure monitor so I can send out organisation wide notifications but i've run into an issue. When I look into the machine that flow is installed on, I can see that it is storing logs in folders in batches of 1000 and it will create new folder each time it hits a multiple of 1000. I can process files into Azure, but this doesn't seem to work with a wildcard in the /current/ folder - it needs a folder that already exists. Is there a way to write these logs all to the same folder? The file pattern/query i'm using: C:\\ProgramData......logs\\engine\\current\\jobs\\*\\job_*.txtMany thanks, Sam

Hi, I have compress a text with AttributeCompressor and stored it in an XML file. The text should be a password, so I don't want to store it as plain text. Then, I read the XML file and try to decompress the password with AttrributeDecompressor. But I only get this:2023-12-15 14:31:40|   0.6|  0.0|ERROR |@CompressAttributes: The 'Compressed-table.Compressed.password' attribute could not be decompressedBy the moment, I'm only compressing, not enconding. But I cannot make it work.I'm using FME Desktop 2022. I'm attaching both workbenches, (compress and decompress), the xml written by the first and readed by the second, and the logs of my execution.Thank you for your help.Best regards.

Hi all, I need to extract the Hex Code Point of multiple letters using TextEncoder.However, the transformer fails to encode Roman numbers and some special characters. You can see in the below screenshot that it successfully encodes Bengali letters and some special characters, but not the others. Anyone has an idea how to solve it or any workarounds? Thanks! 

Hi guys,im using a csv file (with sde feature class names and etc.) as initiator to read various feature classes from a Esri sde database.however i also need to setup a spatial filter on this feature reader to limit the number of record being read. is there a way I can get this setup? I tried add another initiator into same feature reader transformer but seems this is not working.. Thanks guys!

I am trying to generate a point coordinate at the midpoint of Arcs. These Arcs have a very large radius and a tiny sweep, so they look like lines, but they are parts of a larger Arc. Whether I try the arc.GetMidPoint() method, or use Intersector with a crossing line, the point is always off. When I run the features through the SpatialRelator, it returns 0 _related_suppliers. It looks fine at first glance, but zooming in reveals that the intersection point really is NOT intersecting. My hunch is that this is due to the Point being calculated as a float. I have a linear network that I have processed with the TopologyBuilder. I have a second linear network that I defines the from-to lines for the ShortestPathFinder. My concern is that the polylines in the two linear networks are segmented differently, for example, the Topology Edges are segmented at intersections and the From-To lines are segmented at mile markers.  Is it necessary that the segmentation of the two networks aligns or just that the From-To vertices correspond to points on the Topology_Edges?

QUESTION: Is there anyway to adjust the login timeout for MS SQL connections? Periodically, I've been logging an error from the SQLExecutor transformer which appears to be related to timeout issues when connecting to a MS SQL database. The error below seems to occur at random and is hard to replicate on demand.  'Provider error (-247467259) Unable to complete login process due to delay in opening server connection' I suspect that the connection, periodically, is talking longer then the timeout configured in FME. I know of the 'Command Timeout' parameter but as I understand it this is only applicable to the query length timeout, not the login connection timeout

Hi all,Please help!  From January to April 2023 I worked through most of the FME Desktop/Form Advanced and Server/Flow advanced course. Now, December 2023, it seems my account and the progress is lost. All the badges I gained etc. In addition, some of the trailmixes I followed seem to not exist anymore. Is there any easy way to add a date stamp to output file names when using the FeatureWriter? I am outputting Excel files that have multiple tabs with multiple separate inputs, from multiple data sources. The only way I could figure out how to do this without the FeatureWriter splitting up the different feature types into separate files is to add the DateTimeStamper to each data source, make sure it is kept all through the Workspace, and then take off the _timestamp attribute from each Feature Type in the Attribute list on the FeatureWriter. What a pain! Surely there is a better way? I tried to create a User Parameter, but it did not work. Any hints on this?  Thanks, -L

I have what I hope is a simple question. I'm using a Where clause in my Esri Geodatabase (SDE) Writer. One of the criteria I'm using in my Where clause is that a jurisdiction matches a value being passed in using a User Parameter. This value "jurisdiction" parameter has a comma in it (which I think is the problem). When I manually type the Where Clause in as Jurisdiction = 'SomeName County,St' it works no problem. When I pass the parameter (I.E. "Jurisdiction = '$(parJurisdiction)') with parJurisdiction set to the exact same value I get:  "Unclosed quotation mark after the character string 'SomeName County))' Any suggestions as to how to solve this problem would be appreciated.  Thank you.K

For example:  I have an external table that has regions for column headings (North, South, East, West) and part numbers for row headings (Part#001, Part#002, Part#003, Part #004,...). A part number in a specific region has a cost as shown in the in the image.  Also, I have another table with the attributes Region and Part Number in FME.  I want to make a new attribute that searches the external table based on the two attributes in my FME table: region and part number and returns the cost. How can I do this?

I'm sure this will be something really simple I am overlooking (as usual!)I have some excel data of personal information, including age.I need to:1.       group ages, 0-17, 18-25, 26-35, 36-45 and so on.2.       count how many each category / group has.3.       Display data in ExcelFor point 1, I have used the Attribute Range FilterThis gives these resultsSo far so good! For point 2, I use the statistics calculator to do the total count of each group:Then into Attribute manager to rename the columnFor point 3, I would like it to ultimately look like this desired output: However, when I use the Excel writer with these settingsI get this result, I've highlighted yellow where I have gaps that I don't like, and I can only get the age groups to appear as column headings.What do I need to do to obtain the desired output?Many thanks for any help you can give.RegardsStu

Hi,  I have a user parameter where we are entering raw text in the format of:\\gis\scripts\FME_Projects\Production\Staging Folder\bulk_geopackage.gpkg  The first time this parameter is used is in a featurewriter transformer:Then when I look at the path it is passing through the output, you will notice one of the slashes has been reversed...Any thoughts as to why this is happening at this point?

When I run my spatial filter with the entire dataset the filter fails but if I run using partial data the dataset it works. Does anyone know why this would happen?Note: Spatial Realtor works but not the spatial filter.

The netcdf format is new to me. I have created a multiband raster with 50 bands. Each band contains values for 1 day. My workflow looks like this: The sampler to the left is for testing only and lets 7 bands go through. The listbuilder creates a list of values for the 'days_since' variable. I want to use these values in the writer for the 'netcdf_band{}.coordinate_variable{}' port.How do I apply this as a list? At the moment I have to apply them individually day for day in the attribute manager before the writer.This works but is obviously not scalable. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated - I have thousands of bands to include! :)

Hi!! I've got a problem in FME Desktop 2022.2 that I did not have in FME Desktop 2021.2 I have a workflow that makes POST request to ArcGIS Print Service in order to get an image of a map. We upgraded version and this workflow it doesn't work right now. It shows the following error:  "The encoded string is not a valid fme-wwjd string" The content of this string is a JSON that I need to do my request. As I sayd, the same workflow it works on version 2021.2Does anyone has any idea what happen?

I'm using the HTTPCaller to read in an MDS data feed that I would like to convert to an AGOL line feature by connecting the points together from the "route" attribute. I'm able to extract the attributes for each trip in the dataset using the JSON Fragmenter and JSON Extractor, but I'm getting stuck on creating the geometry. How can I take each point coordinate from a trip and connect them into a line and keep the trip attributes associated with it? Example of the JSON format is attached.
