Hi,  I have a date in 2010:08:11:13:50:16 format, I want to write this format in oracle. I've tried it using a date formater transformer but it didn't worked then I split the record and reconcateneted it in the native SQL format of DD-MM-YYYY but it also failed.  Can anybody please help me in this.  IMRAN  

Hi,  I have a directory with many sub-directories that contain many tables. I would like to add to the Reader only the table that name begin with certains characters  Schema:  Main_Dir      Sub_Dir_1             table_x_1             table_y_1             table_z_1             new_table_1      Sub_Dir_2             table_x_2             table_y_2             table_z_2             new_table_2      Etc...  I would like to add to Reader only the tables that begin with "new"  Thank you very much for your help 

Fellow FMEers, This must be a simple one but I’m stumped.  I just started with FME Server and I want to include some documents with the zip file that downloaded by the user.  I have a workspace that grabs an ArcOnline image and saves it as a JPEG in a folder.   In the same workspace is a datafile reader/writer pair that copies a file (found via UNC path on the server) to the same folder as the image.  When I run the workspace on my desktop I get both the image and the doc but when I publish to Server I only get the image.  Any one able to guess what I’m missing? Thanks, Alan

I have successfully set up a Garrmin GDB file reader and retrieved waypoints stored in the file.  I then used the Geometry Extractor using the FME XML Encoding and assigned it to the default attribute _geometry.  When I inspected the data, I see that the attribute _geometry does indeed have XML data along with the associated X Latitude and Y Longitude coordinates.  My question:  Is there a translator to extract the X and Y values separately and store them in new attrigutes associated with each point, say Latitude and Longitude, or do I need to use the StringExtractor to get this data?  Here is a sample of the XML data on the first data point:  <?xml version="1.0" encoding="US_ASCII" standalone="no" ?><geometry><point><coord x="-93.879491630999993" y="29.763959543999999"/></point></geometry>

So I have an attribute (TYPE)  that has several different values like WEST RAMP and GENERAL PARKING. I need a way to search that field and find values that contain "PARKING" or "RAMP" and map them appropriately. I was hoping to find a batch way of doing it since I have about 15 different destination values and would rather not have 15 StringSearchers. I thought about using a TestFilter but 15 output ports with AttributeSetter's isn't too clean.  Any thoughts? PythonCaller maybe?

Hello  I am currently trying to call a FME 2013 32bit script out of a FME 2013 64bit script. I do this because 64bit does not support the 3D-PDF writer. I chose the SystemCaller transformer because in the WorkspaceRunner I could not find any options to choose the FME engine I would like to run and so it will always start the script in 64bit mode.  So with a concatenator i prepare my command that I pass over to the SystemCaller. I prepare following string:  "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\FME2013_x86\\fme.exe" D:/Path/3DPDF.fmw [--Parameter1 {$(Parameter1)}] [--AttributeA{@Value(AttributeA)}] [--AttributeB {@Value(AttributeB)}] [--Parameter2 {$(Parameter2)}]  It seems that at least starting the 32bit enginge is working because I get: SystemCaller: Executing `"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\FME2013_x86\\fme.exe...etc... FME 2013 SP1 (20130319 - Build 13448 - WIN32)...etc... ...FME Version Infos and Licensing infos and so on...  But then it says: Parameter 'Parameter1' must be

Hi folks,  I have a simple workbench taking an ArcSDE spatial table as input. In this table, I have a string field I want to fill with 2 digits. This field already has values, but a lot of them are only coded on 1 digits (1,Z,a...). I thought of insert a left pad and replace this pad with a digit of my choice (0 or Z) to make my field homogeneous.  But the StringPadder doesn't work... :-( At now, I don't have a writer, I'm only working with visualizer to see the potential result, and it's always wrong, I mean values still have the same length.  Does it make sense ? Hi, I'm using FME workbench 2013. I want to test based on a date field to filter out just those records that were entered into the database after a specifc date, how can I do this? I used a date formater to get the date in the format I want and then tried using a tester  > 13/09/2006, but that does not work. Any ideas? Helen

The reader gets its dtat from a featureclasswich is a part of a featuredataset named "Topology" The writer creates a new featureclass a personalgeodatabase. But the writer puts the featureclass automatically in a featuredataset neamed "Topology". When you look at the parameters of the featureclaass you see: Feature Dataset:<not set>.  I would like to make a featureclass with out a feature dataset. I can't find the solution. Is there someone who can help me. Thank you very much.  

Hi,    My input feature has 2 attribute (One numeric ID, Geom Point geometry). I found 2 map geometries(Multiline) for ID in db. So after fetching, sql executor generates 2 features as (ID,GEOM,MAP1)  and (ID,GEOM,Map2).  I used aggregator assuming that it will return me (ID,GEOM,(MAP1+MAP2)) and then trying to write into database but failing.  Please suggest me how to approach this problem?  Subrat

Hello,  I'm a FME novice at best. Could anyone help me split many irregular polygons into 4 equal parts? I have a section grid for a small area within a state and I need to split each section into quads. I don’t need the split to be exact, just 4 polygons with the same attributes at the parent section. Thanks 

Hi , MIght have have already asked this question in the forum but no answer. I have win 7 desktop with 2013 fme desktop.When I import cx_Oracle it gives the above mentioned error. This seemed to be working in 2012 version of desktop earlier. Note : Oracle client is 64 bit . This problem is also a part of Fme server installation in similar environment .  Need help !!!       

We have to use an ETL account to write to our Oracle feature classes in the geodatabase.  We are using SDE 10.1 on Oracle 11g.  We have granted the ETL account and ETL role DROP ANY TABLE but the writer still behaves like it is doing deletes.  We can make this work in our SQL database but are having problems in Oracle.  What are we missing?  Using the Schema owner is not a option. Thanks Deb

Hi! On installing said version, build 13499, my Avast AV 8.0.1489, virusdef 130621-3, fired an alarm on the file spatialrelationshipfactory.dll and put it in the quarantine. Avast says the reason is Win32:Evo-gen [susp] The file date for the file was 2013-06-05 12:15:16  Has anybody else seen this? Most likely, the alarm is false.

hello?     There are some groups in my AutoCAD DWG data. Groups in Autocad means a whole that when you select a group in AutoCAD ,you'll select all element in it. But when I read these groups data in FME, they'll be auto exploded even I set the 'read group' parameter to 'yes' in Reader. And I could not find some relationship between those features which are one group. How can I resolve this problem in FME.

I want to extract polygons by using a point on area overlay. It seems to work but not for multi part polygons.  It only pass throught the part that the point intersects. It should pass through all parts of the polygon.  I'm using a spatial relator with a list exploder. I've also used the point on area overlayer.  Rudy    

I used a process on here to convert a KML file through the HTMLto XHTML Converter then through XQuery Extractor and that seemed to split out the KML description into the result attribute when I run it through and inspection point. I am trying to convert the KML to a SDF or shapefile to import into my GIS system, but I cannot get the result attributes to append to the writer file. I have tried a list indexer and multiple other transformers with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks, Chad

Hi, I have XYZ values and I need to create a DGN or SHP polygon based on the min and max X and Y values.  What is the easiest way to do this?  I tried to use BoundsExtractor and 2DBoxReplacer but it doesn't seem to be working.  Any other ideas?  Thanks,

translating SW 2d polygons with holes successfully to another format

Hello all,  Tried this several times but no luck. Currently, I have too many variables: $mont_nbr $month_name $person_nbr $person_name (and a few more...) In several cases I need the names, in other a number and so on. The idea is that I need all these variables throughout the workbench. The thing is, if I have excel data like: 01 | January | 240 | Mike | I would like the user to input the month_nbr (in this case, 01) and then bring in the other variables from the excel table., as for 01 it will always be January, 240 and Mike as the variables. I am trying to find a way to ease the user input process. I Looked at the workspace runner but I just cannot make this work.

FOR EXAMPLE, IN CAD, I HAVE COMBINE THE ANNOTATION TEXT (NAME OF ROAD) TOGETHER WITH FEATURE LAYER 'ROAD' AND THEN IN ARCGIS I WANT TO DEFINE THE ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTE DATA THAT STORE THE NAME OF ROAD IN 'ROAD' LAYER. Hi Folks, I'm having a brain-freeze - how do I convert a line to its constituent vertices resulting in an output point dataset? Logically the GeometryCoercer should do it, but it doesn't.  CoordinateExtractor with a loop could probably do it, but that seems massively overkill for what should be a simple task. Is there a transformer I'm missing?  Thanks, Jonathan
