I've looked at a couple of similarly named questions and they're not quite what I'm after.I have a work space with many Mapinfo Tables being written to many GML feature types into a single output GML file. I'm getting varying orders of output. For example I have a GML Feature called "Header". I'd like that written first. Is there a way to prioritise the execution?In addition I have two GML Features that use the same MI table as a source. Oddly or perhaps obviously, the output order is "woven" together.egGML Feature 1GML Feature 1GML Feature 1GML Feature 2GML Feature 1GML Feature 1GML Feature 2GML Feature 1GML Feature 2While I know write order is inconsequential in XML\GML there is a process where somebody eyeballs the Header in a text editor to make sure the content is correct. Looking for the header buried in the files just adds time.Any advice appreciated.

It is my understanding that only one of the desktop versions can be licensed at a time.So how can I stop the license activation of FME desktop 32bit so I can switch the license to FME desktop 64bit on my PC?

Hello everyone, I have probably really easy question, yet I struggle to find a anwser I need online. I'm working on a large set of points (about 18k), and I need to find and use in further work points with minimum and maximum X coordinate value. I have used Coordinate Extractor to have and easy access to X values, then tried to use Statistic Calucator to find min and max, then use Tester, however it didn't work for me. Is there any other way to do this quite easy?

Hi, Just wondering what is the minimal operation required, using the REST API (v3), to test if an FME Server instance is available to process jobs? For example, how much is a successful response to a “GET info” request telling me? Is it just that the FME Server web services are running (ie. Tomcat) or does it mean that FME Server can accept requests? Does a “GET repositories” request tell me anything more? The reason that I’m asking is that I will be using a 3rd party application to monitor FME Server and let me know if it becomes unavailable. I could write a very minimal FME workspace to be called via a submit job request – which would obviously tell me what I need to know – but would prefer not to tie up an engine with spurious job requests. In order to be useful I will need to be polling FME Server on a frequent basis. Thanks, Nic

Folks,I'm finally making some headway with a Mapinfo to GML writer. Table to GML output is working fine. The requirement is to inspect the start and end point of a polyline and see if a point from another table exists. I then need to take the ID of the polyline and the ID of the point and write those value out to GML I now have a challenge with two options. I could create a dataset in Mapinfo where I do the geographic intersection using MapinfoORThere may be some magic way to create this data in FME. I suspect a combination of a CoordinateExtractor and PointonLineOverlayer might be what I'm after but my novice skills are letting me down. I don't know how to join these two things together.I should add I need to identify the start as "1" and the end as "2" as part of the GML writing.

Folks, I'm having trouble getting an actual object out of my Mapinfo objects and getting them represented in GML. Being that FME is (Feature Manipulation Engine) I expected this was implicit but it appears not. The Mapinfo Reader doesn't present an "object" to perform some kind of process on. I'm taking a guess I need some kind of Transformer.  I tried a GeometryExtractor. I presume the Input is implicit in that I attached it to the Mapinfo table. I have some options on the output. I selected GML v3.1.1.(matches my schema) and named the output to match the GML tag I'm targeting. Running the conversion shows no errors but neither does it give me a "poslist". I did see a GMLFeatueComposer with enough sophistication to reference my XSD but this threw and error when the translation was run.BTW my attribute tagging works perfectly in the translation so at that minimal level I have a GML (that has no Geography)Any guidance appreciated.

Hi All,I develop a workspace to transfer the mdf to gdb but the feature class in file geodatabase have the same name of the feature in mdf.For example I have mdf “B” containing five feature class when I transform them into file gdb as you can see belowIs there any way to change the name of feature class from “dbo_COMMUNITIES_point” to “communities” by adding a transformer to my workspace? I recently just upgraded to the newest beta version and noticed that some of my FME Hub transformers were stated as "incomplete". I looked at the parameters and couldn't tell why it wasn't working anymore. I then rolled back to the latest release version and had the same issues as well. Is there an easy way to trouble shoot why some functionality would break? I just ended up rolling back to a previous version that works correctly for the time being.The transformers that are giving me issues are the RegexAttributeSplitter and AttributeConcatenator.

I've got some CSV Writers from FME 2016.1 and I obviously want to take advantage of the new CSV2 Writer. I thought I could make life easy by editing the Feature Type properties and changing the Writer from CSV to CSV2 but FME ended up crashing. So I presume creating things from scratch with the new Writer is recommended way...?

I have a KML writer with dynamic attribute definition. The writer always writes a KMZ file but I want it to write a KML file. When you use a static writer you can specify the filename and extension in the writer as either ".kml" or ".kmz" but when it is dynamic you just give the path to the folder and "fme_feature_type" as the feature type name. Also there is no suffix on which to fan out.How can I get the writer to write KML?Thanks

Hi, I am trying to automate a process whereby I download a CSV from an opendata site (a list of schools from our UK Department for Education) and process it to create a shapefile for the area I'm interested only. I can download the data manually then run my workflow which creates the geometry and clips to my area, etc... but the automated download via the url is the bit I'm struggling with.The source data is uploaded daily and posted as a link which url is dynamic to reflect today's date. This is today's link: http://www.education.gov.uk/edubase/edubasealldata20170502.csvI wanted to create the workflow and run the it every week or month as scheduled task but it needs to know the date it's running.I've tried to use :1. CSV reader with the url in the path -it works fine when all as above. Then I amended it in the text editor to replace the date with @Timestamp("^Y^m^d") * . Hi, I have a large number of space delimited XYZ files (*.xyz) and I would like to find a way to determine the extent of the files. I don't want the minimum bounding rectangle, but the actual boundary as it would be if I were to join all the outer points of the file together.I thought about buffering every point in the file, then dissolving the resultant buffers, but that is very time consuming so I would like to find an alternative method if possible.Thanks,

I'm working on a test setup that compares two polygon data sets with each other. The end result should be a match on geometry within a 10% tolerance (bigger and smaller) and the centerpoint (inside point) should not be more than 2 meters away. The one on one match with matcher is quite easy and also the test for the 10% tolerance and 2m centerpoint works but i'm getting stuck on the next step. I have one data set that is leading (red is more detailed) and i would like to know if there is a match with the blue set when you combine two or more polygons of the red data set and do the same test (10% and 2m). Is there a way to loop the results at the end so i can use the output from the unreferenced featurmerger and and match them with mutiple polygons from the attributecreater '3 = no 1on1 match' and do the same tests as before. If there is a case that there are two or more matches, how can i use the best match in size?In the end i want to use it on two maps that both have

I want to automate the closing of FME Quick Translator when I run a .fme file. I have a .fme file that is triggered by windows scheduler to run a .fme file. This obviously opens Quick Translator and runs the routine. At the end of the routine the quick translator stays open. Is there a way I can set the .fme file to close quick translator once the routine has finished successfully?Many thanksSeb

Hello Everyone,I would like to build a workflow that would prompt users to enter a range (or ranges!) of time (HH:MM:SS to HH:MM:SS) that would be used as a filter an Excel sheet for rows within the ranges. Unfortunately, the AttributeRangeFilter will not permit this time format and I do not want to ask the user to convert to Epoch Time themselves. Any helpful advice will be appreciated

Hi,What's the proper syntax for using math functions in XmlTemplater expressions and/or files ?I have an RGB value that I need to split into its R, G, and B components, but I don't want to have to create 3 extra attributes for each of the 4+ color values.I need an output like this: <Color R="red" G="green" B="blue" />I've tried (with attribute "mapinfo_brush_foreground" as my RGB - value = 0xFFFFFE):<Color R="@Evaluate(floor({fme:get-attribute('mapinfo_brush_foreground')}/65536))" G="floor(fmod({fme:get-attribute('mapinfo_brush_foreground')},65536)/256)" B="@Evaluate(floor(fmod(@Evaluate({fme:get-attribute('mapinfo_brush_foreground')}),256)))" />But this yields: <Color R="" G="floor(fmod(16777214,65536)/256)" B="" />So neither none, one, or multiple "Evaluate()" calls produces the desired result.Please help me out in this.And PS: it seems like such math functions are no-go when using file based templates. Is this true ?Cheers.

Greetings to everyone.I need to rasterize some different cartograms.  That means I got some polygons and need to place them on a map and then get image as a result.  Different cartograms means different sizes on real map (in meters), but in result I need equal-sized images (in pixels).  My idea was to use Raster Properties in MapnikRasterizer by changing Cell Spacing parameter dynamically.  For each cartogram I calculate a new Cell Spacing value using Aggregaror -> BoundingReplacer -> BoundsExtractor -> AttributeCreator with some math inside. AttributeCreator add Kmax attribute that contain exactly what I need - how much meters in one pixel and two values for buffer. Then I clip source map (from SASPlanet if you know) using Clipper and 2DBoxReplacer - adding needed buffer to each x and y value at both sides because I need exatly asked width and height no matter of cartogramm geometry. That is my Raster for Mapnik.  At this step all is fine - including all calculated values, th

I have set up an email notification to fire me an email when the workspace has successfuly run.  I am curious as to how I get the name of the workbench that has run to be my subject line?   Do I need to creat a seperate email notification for everyworkspace I want published?  NOTE: I do not want to use python.
