Hi, I have some trouble when I want export the custom properties of a Revit file. After exporting in rvz with the "Export Revit property sets" checked, I can see them when I open it in the inspector, but I can't access them in the workbench, or export the properties in a csv (with the ID I could reaggregate the data).Could you help me ?

Hi,Does anyone know why FME server is unable to handle an SDE connection file with OS authentication? I have several FME desktop workspaces using OS Authentication and I publish it to FME server and run my FME Job Submitter service. I also have the conection file uploaded, but somehow during translation it fails to utilize/recognise the SDE connection which is setup with OS Authentication. On the other hand, the windows server where FME Server is installed has ArcGIS Desktop installed too and I am able to connect to the database using the OS authentication SDE connection file.

Documentation for SECURITY_LOGIN_TYPE in FME Server 2016 says:"Identifies the authentication (login) method to use: database, activedirectory, or custom"What does "custom" mean? We would like to user Active Directory AND database authentication if possible. This would allow us to create users with passwords that don't expire, unlike with Active Directory account.Thanks

Good morning.I have the XML file of an ATOM feed. That XML has to be updated every time the resources provided by that service are updated. Several dates must be changed.My first approach is read the XML with the XML reader, calculate the current data, modify the XML using the XMLTemplater and wirting the same XML file using the Text File reader (with "Overwrite" set to YES)..The process reads the C:/ATOM_feed.xml, edits it and writes the file C:/ATOM_feed.xml.This doesn't work:"Error opening dataset 'Text File' for writing, ensure that file path and permissions allow for writing".I guess it makes sense.So, in order to avoid this, I have used "Creator" to create a feature with an attribute "join" set to "A". I have added the same attribute to the feed from the XML Reader and I have perfomed a Merge using "FeatureMerger" (Requestor = new feature, Supplier = XML). Hi all,  This might be completely in the world of fantasy! I've programmed FME to produce a MapInfo table (using MFAL writer) containing points at 25m intervals along road centres (using Ordnance Survey's ITN data), each point contains a URL including Long/Lat coordinates so that I can invoke Google Street View.  In MapInfo, I need to add the Hotlinking capability after FME so that the URLs can be read and linked to. I've looked at the tab header file (in Notepad) and it seems to need a few lines of code at the bottom of it. I was thinking, could I program FME to add this automatically? Has anyone thought about this before? Perhaps this is beyond the use of FME. The closest way I could think of would be to create a text file and write the specific text to it then replace the actual .tab file component in Windows Explorer but it wouldn't be a tidy process.  Regards,  Ian

Hi,I have a FME workbench that uses a HTTP caller to download 350 URLs. I then have a CSV file of 67 URLs that I need to download from this 350. I'm wondering is there a way to use a AttributeFilter or Tester etc. to only download these 67 and not the total number. I hope this makes sense. Thanks.

I have created a vector grid consisting of polygons with size 0.00027778 degrees (around 30m). The polygons have a value which represents the number of people living whithin it. Naturally, lots of polygons will have zero inhabitants. These polygons are filtered out. I want to convert this grid to a raster grid with each raster cell matching the vector polygons exactly. The "missing" polygons with zero inhabitants should result in a NoData raster cell.I'm feeding the polygons into NumericRasterizer, using the exact same cellsize as with the polygons. It seems that what I'm trying to do is possible. However, in the northern parts of my grid, there are raster cells which should be NoData, but instead they have taken the value of the cell above it. Hi,Yet another newbie here.I am just wondering if its possible to change writers output in some quick way (drop down list, etc).let me explain... I have an excel spreadsheet and 13+ feature classes (ArcGIS 10.3.1) I am using FeatureMerger to join the table with every single feature class (not always basing on the same common field). So far so good, it is working fine but sometimes i need to change an storing location, eg. output1: local test area, output2: internal server (SDE), output3: external server (SDE). How to change the output locations all at once. At the moment i have 13 writers and i don't want to change each of them every time and i don't want to create workbenches for each of the potential outputs. How to do that? Thanks,

I'm having some difficulty trying to use a private parameter as a path for a Data Reader. The difficulty stems from the fact that the value in the parameter is not literal but is calculated at run time (based on date). The parameter name is SourcePath and its value is a concatenation of a literal string and two other private parameters, which are based on a date. At runtime the value in SourcePath would look something like this:P:\\GIS Development\\Vicmap_Downloads\\2017\\20170606\\The workspace itself is very simple, consisting of a Directory and File Pathnames Reader, and a corresponding File Copy Writer. The reader obtains a listing of files in the directory, as specified in the SourcePath parameter. It then supplies this list of files to the File Copy Writer to perform the copy/paste. Having read some of the online documentation I've managed to setup a work space to contact the web service and receive a response (using a Creator, XML Templater, HTTP Caller and XML Formatter).I've successfully setup a work space to read in NHS local services and using the XML Fragmenter have exposed the attributes from the SOAP response under the ServiceTransferObject element.The NHS the response was cleanly structured (example below):...but the response from a 3rd party web service appears to be structured very differently. Fme server 2016I developed ONE fme file which reads from csv file and writes to csv. I Published this fmw to fme server. If I use Fme server’s user web interface it asks me to upload the csv file and loading to temporary folder and fme server knows this path. its working good.I am using my own web page(image attached) and calling fme server’s URL inside my web application.But when I run this fmw, fme cannot locate the source dataset(csv) in the server. How/ Where can I upload/keep my source csv file in the server ?, So that fme server can locate this filepath when called thru fme server’s url. I copied csv to server path and I redirected my source dataset to this uploaded file, it is not locating and gives error.Can you Please tell me how can I achieve this?

Hi @NatalieAtSafe,From this Q&A;: SMTP errorThe issue has been filed as C125117 (PR76958) and I was notified that it has been fixed in FME 2017.1 Beta already. I confirmed that the original issue has been resolved in FME 2017.1 Beta with Python 3.5, but the fixed Emailer newly causes this error when running with Python 2.7. I think the error apparently indicates that the implementation of the Emailer in FME 2017.1 Beta doesn't conform to Python 2.7 specifications.Emailer: <type 'exceptions.TypeError'>: character mapping must return integer, None or unicode Nearly two months have passed since I reported the error above, but it has not been resolved yet in the latest Beta build 17498.Could you please check the current status of the PR?

In FME there are more then one possibility of Spatial joins for the polygons and I have tried all.I have two polygon shape files, one is source and other is target.From source file (which includes some numeric fields) I want join data to target polygon where both polygon layers intersect. For text field this is not a problem but what I am looking for is a Spatial Join which can also add Mode of numeric field to the target layer.

In parent workspace, when i am passing two numbers comma separated in workspace runner, Comma automatically gets replaced by '<comma>'. Eg. I am passing '123,345' but it is passing '123<comma>345' to child transformer.

Hello,I'm working on a workspace that will update a AGOL Feature Service. I need to pull from two different data sources, normalize the attributes and do some additional processing in the middle then write updates to the master. Both source data sets are fairly large so I am trying to not have to read each of them in their entirety every time the workspace runs. Rather I would like to leverage a "Modified On" field in the source data to only read in features that have been modified since the last time my workspace ran. I plan to push the workspace I'm building to FME Server and then sschedule it to run nightly. Currently I use the "time stamper" transformer to park the current data/time when the workspace runs in a .csv file. My thought is that I could then read in that timestamp and use it in my WHERE Clause. That's the thought however, I cannot seem to find a way to leverage that timestamp in my workspace parameters. Does anyone have some experience tr

I have 8000 polygons of varying areas and shapes. I want to divide these into equal area polygons.I am looking for a similar functionality to the land parcel editor in ArcGIS. My shapes look something like this. I have already considered the options where we intersect the shapes with a fishnet. This doesn't suit my purpose as I end up small clippings on the edges. Also the number of newly created polygons will depend on the size of the original polygon. What I am hoping to achieve with the expert advice from FME gurus here is to divide each of the polygon into 4 parts having equal areas. Thanks in advance.
