I want to read the csv file for my SchemaMapper via a published parameter. This however does not seems to be an option. I can not select a parameter and when I try to type $(published_parameter), I get in parameters the notification "No dataset found in $(published_parameter)". How can I solve this issue?PS: using FME 2016.1 build 16492

I'm trying to create an advanced boundbox from multiple input (.dgn) using a group by closis on fme_basename and I would like that my boundbox be oriented !I tried the BoundingBoxAccumulator and Replacer but with the Accumulator there is no OrientedBoundBox and with the Replacer there is no group by ...Does someone has an answer ?Thx =)

Is there a transformer that will assign an elevation value interpolated from a set of contour lines?

I have to determine the direction of a closed curve (a line where start and endpoint are the same) because I want to derive a gpx in the right direction (clockwise) from the polyline. Is there a way to do this? So I want to test if the polyline has a clockwise direction and, if not, reverse the direction. I tried the Polylineanalyzer and the azimuthcalculator, but both don't give me a solution.

Hello,I don't know the best way to go about this, I've been trying to set some conditional statements in my AttributeManager but I'm unable to get the results I'm after. I'd like to identify the duplicate serial numbers (API NUMBER 10) in my data and then only keep the duplicate that has the most recent date (WELL STATUS DATE).Thanks in advance for your help.

I am sing FME 2016 and have polygons dataset that are spread in an irregular fashion. I want to create a fishnet(grid) wherein the geometry is as per the density of the polygons. So, first of all, I have to convert the polygons to points, so that the original polygon file is not occupied by 2 different grids and then create the tiles thing and save the output in multiple polygon gdbs (outputs as per the tile). it would be really amazing if the number of polygons in one grid could be controlled.Thanks.

Folks,This is part observation and part confirmation of the general functionality of Transformers.I have an AttributeManager. Amongst it's operations there is a conditional evaluation of a value.If owner = XCOM then id = 0. This modified the id value. This was working. Then "all of a sudden" it stopped working.During my manipulations I applied another modification to the owner field in the same AttributeManager.If owner = XCOM then owner = Xcom. This modified the owner field. A case modification for the purposes of output.What I didn't anticipate was that my earlier condition would stop working because the case of the owner had changed based on another condition. I presumed that all operations in an AttributeManager operated on the original input file values.Is this expected functionality?

I suspect that I am missing some simple setting here. But simple as it might be, I cant find a solution. I have set up a workspace that imports a bunch of shape files and runs various transformers on them. Among these are Attribute Managers for some of the files, where I add a couple of new attributes. But for some reason these new attributes do not get written to the exported shape files. When I Inspect the last step with the same data that is feed the Dynamic Writer everything looks fine. Is there some setting I have missed or do I need an additional step, with a extra transformer, to write the new schema?

Hi, I'm trying to convert a raster that is some 7 gigapixel to polygons without resampling.The raster is global land cover data, and it is one band 129 600 by 55 800 pixels (7,2 Gpx...). Trying to use the rastertopolygoncoercer obviously crashes. I don't want to resample because of the resolution and my following work. Instead what I want to do is to dissolve polygons based on 23 possible values represented in the raster. Land cover is fairly coherent I believe.But... I am at a loss trying to figure out how I should solve this. Maybe some kind of loop reading 10-100-1000? rows at a time, dissolving these and writing to an appending fileset.I believe that the final dataset would, should... could be in a manageable size. Maybe I'm wrong and the only option is to resample.

I'm trying to add a custom icon using the KMLStyler. The icon is saved on google drive. I used Attribute Manager to add a new attrubute called "Symbol_Icon" thats value is the google drive url link, then I used the KMLStyler to set the icon name to the newly created attribute. I'm getting the "red x" once I open the kml in google earth. Screenshots below, any suggestions?

Hi.I have a workspace that uses the ArcSDE Writer. It works perfectly in my FME Desktop, because I have ArcGIS installed in the same machine.But now I have to upload it to a FME Server. In that machine, there is not any ArcGIS installation and I've been told that there is no plan of installing one. So... my workspace won't work.I'm aware of the ArcGIS Legacy writer, but it's an option that they don't want to use due to its lack of maintenance.So... is there any other solution? I've been searching in this forum and I haven't found anything else.Thanks for any help provided!

Apologies, This is a newbie question which shouldn't be this darn awkward to do.I have two files A & B . Each have 3 attributes: NAME, ID, LABEL I want to copy A's NAME into B's LABEL based on the same ID.I have been trying with Feature Merger. Join On for Requestor and Supplier are both pointing to the ID. A is the supplier. But the merged LABEL is not being overwritten.any positive suggestions?thanks kindly

HiI have a file of UK postcode areas which I am attempting to merge to create a themed overlay on a Google Map. However, it appears that in merging the polygons from the shp file, some of the polygon boundary line-string point ordering gets messed up so that there are "figures of eight" in the resulting KML file.I suspect the problem may be linked to the order of shapes in the original shp file, so is there a transformer I can use to improve the dissolver functionality.Note that the inspector view of the output is correct, it is just when "kml_360" polygon is viewed, it has "steaks" across the area.I have attached the source files used to create this sample. The image is OK when viewed by the inspector.Thoughts on how to resolve this issue welcome or additional transformers which can be used in the data processing pipeline to mitigate the problem

Dear FME-users,  I’m creating polygons from input raster data. Therefore I use the transformer “RasterToPolygonCoercer”. The values of 7 input data are written in 1 output feature class.  These attributes includes a lot of “null-values”. (<NULL>)  Do you’ve any ideas which transformer can solve it?  Thank you very much and best regards.  Konrad

This is somewhat related to another question of mine. I am using FME 2013 and connecting to Smallworld 4.3 via SpatialBiz' SBS plugin.I have had trouble getting the syntax straight to extract all elements from gt_pipe_segment that match a certain 'where'-clause (using FeatureReader). At some point then I decided to look at the results without any clause in place, and got the following results:FME returned me about 28.000 entries, while gt_pipe_segment.size is about 92.000.This problem seems to get bigger the bigger a table is. But already for a table of size roughly 1500 I had a deviation of six.Again, there was no clause in place, neither spatial nor on the attribute.Is this a known bug? Can someone confirm this? Could this be fixed in a newer version of FME/SpatialBiz? I have found another bug report on FeatureReader.  

I have a collection of lines and I need to first select those within X distance of each other, and then merge into one feature if the headings are the same (within a specified threshold) and they are of the same type (specified attribute).The result will be one line representing a grouping of features that are of the same type and heading in roughly the same direction.Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this?So in the image below, step one would be to find the groupings of lines within x distance and heading in the same direction.After this selection I want to group them into one feature based on a specific attribute. in the image below, these lines are grouped according to a specified attribute.The end result would be this, one line representing all of the merged lines heading in the same direction and grouped by a specific attribute.

Hi,i have a workspace which reads a featureclass from ArcSDE with MSSQL Server 2012 with many fields, where one field is named “Post_Processing_Status”. I validate and check the data, do some calculations and create a csv from the data. Is the data from the feature class not valid I update the field “Post_Processing_Status” with the value “mangelhaft” or when it’s OK with “MNA” (originally “erfasst” is in Post_Processing_Status) and write it to the featureclass in the SQL Server. However when I check the data, the value for Post_Processing_Status is written, but in some rows other field values are now missing, they are filled with blanks. In the original all fields were filled with values. My procedure is I delete with an AttributeManager all other Attributes, except the OBJECTID and the Post_Processing_Status assign the value “mangelhaft” or “MNA” and link it to an Esri Geodatabase (ArcSDE Geodb) writer with the configuration “UPDATE”, the Transaction Type is set to “Transactions”.I c

FME 2017.0 (17271) on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard.I'm using PointOnAreaOverlayer to add 3 attributes from a polygon layer (non-overlapping polygons) to a point layer. The polygons are coming from ArcSDE (SQL Server) and the point data comes from SQL Server with geometry in the Geometry data type. The 3 attribute columns already exist in the point layer and I'm using fme_db_operation to UPDATE them in the Writer. Between the PointOnAreaOverlayer and Writer I'm using AttributeManager to assign the polygon attribute values to the appropriate SQL Server table attributes.If I don't use any parallel processing in the PointOnAreaOverlayer, the translation works and takes about an hour per million points. However, if I group by one of the point layer fields (4 distinct values) and use Aggressive parallel processing, it cuts that time to 40 minutes per million points, but the polygon attributes do not get added to the point data. I would like to have the attribute values in my source data compared to values in an external look up table and changed based on the values in the look up table and then have the new values populated in a different database.  For example.  Read the Type Column find the value UNKNOWN look at the look up table and change UNKNOWN to UNK and send to destination database.

On a machine with 2 cores, if I start 2 separate instances of FME Desktop from the Start menu, and run a Workspace in each, does this use parallel processing i.e. does each copy of FME Desktop use a separate core?

Hello,I am processing data and write the results to Textfiles , using a fanout and the featurewriter.Now i want to add some headerlines (read and blue) in front of the exported lines (black). Plase, refer to the screenshot.The red lines are the same for any of the files. Only the blue line consistes of a constant part (file.) andthe filename which is individuel. The number of resulting Textfiles varies.Any ideas are highly appreciated!

Folks,I have a series of points in one MI table and intersecting lines in another table in a telco network. I need to test each point and get all of the intersecting lines. The result being the ID of the point in one field and a comma delimited list of the IDs of all the intersecting polylines.For other work in this task I've been successfully using SpatialFilters that work well for 1:1 but 1:N where the N's need to be aggregated into a single result seems to be evading me.I don't need a spatial result for this process.Your advice appreciated.

Have anyone got rotated coordinate systems work with FME? See metadata below. If I just use the RasterGeoreferencer it does not rotate, and I do not have an angle for the Rotator...Is there no way to define the coordinate system as a "rotated" one?

Hello FME users, I'm a beginner in HTML code and need some help extracting tables from websites. I've been using the HTMLTable Reader and it has been great if I need to work with just one hyperlink. I'm currently trying to use the HTTPCaller to extract tables from 300+ attributes that have hyperlinks attached.
