I have a fairly large workbench that uses quite a bit of processing muscle, so I am limiting which features are processed at one time by using an attribute value (a line reference) exposed as a published parameter i.e each time I run the workspace, I enter a new line reference to be processed. I have about 1500 different line references to process. How can I automate this so that I don't have to manually enter each new line reference?

I have a small mystery, hopefully someone can help me with it.I have several points (53) that I clip with a polygon shapefile. Some points (51) are inside the polygon, others (2) are outside. In the FME workflow I also see the correct number of features being sent to the shapefile. The data inspector also shows 51 points. But in the actual exported shapefile and .dbf file, I only find 47 points.I am not using the group feature or anything, and the points all have a unique ID code. Picture 1 shows what I see in FME workbench, picture 2 what data inspector shows me, picture 3 what QGIS reports/FME Data Inspector showsThe file is not open in another app or whatever. When I export to say GEOJSON, I do get the correct 51 points.What am I missing? Is there a bug when exporting to shapefile? Running FME 2018 build 18284-18301-18305

File Copy writer is often used in conjunction with Directory and File Pathnames reader to move or copy files from one location to another. Directory and File Pathnames reader returns a list of files in a folder and FileCopy writer will process that list.File Copy Writer allows you to ZIP the entire target folder by simply adding .zip to the folder name on the Destination File Copy Folder parameter, i.e.: D:\\tmp\\filecopy.zipBut what if you want to ZIP each indivdual file that you copy, rather than the entire folder? This is a little burried in the File Copy writer parameters.To ZIP each file that you copy, you can use the Dataset Fanout on the File Copy writer. I have some point objects that need to be rotated. The source data has a starting position and contains a offset in metres from the origin. This would give me two points and from there I could draw a line between the two and finaly measure the angle of this line using AzimutCalculator. Ergo my rotation value.I need some advice on the best way to construct the line. So far I have tried combinations of the Offseter, VertexCreator and LineBuilder to construct the new point but I have not found a way to pair this with the source object. The features all come with an unique ID, but I have not figured out how to pair the original back to the offset point before drawing the connecting line. Below is an early embryo just to give an example of what I am trying to do.

I can do it in QGIS simply by using "name" LIKE '%LDN%' to sort the data, but this is not working for me in FME using the Attribute filter and text editor. Forgive me if I have got it wrong, this is my first go at using FME.

Hello,I´m trying to find the way to read DGN v7 file settings - - What units are set as master and as sub units? Is there any attribute, which is able to identify these units settings?- Is it possible to detect origin of coordinates of design file? E.g. I have condition that origin of coordinate system of design file have to be set to XXX, YYY.- I read that FME desing file reader v7 doesnt support file attribute igds_element_view_independent, but desing file v8 does. Why? I´m not DGN file expert, but is it caused by the reason that dgn v7 completely doesnt support view dependent parameter?Thank You so much!Lubo

Hi,I have a polygon layer with x,y,z coordinates.For each polygon, I would like to calculate the mean z-value. For this I use the ListStatisticsCalculator, which works perfectly.The problem is, that some polygons consists of one or more useless z-value (-999, -9999 etc.). I would like to filter out these values (or delete them) before running it through the ListStatisticsCalculator.I have tried the ListElementFilter with Filter Type Numeric Range, but I can't get it to work properly.Any thoughts?Thanks,Stig

Hi all!I'm trying to do a simple reprojection from ESPG:3021 to ESPG:3006 but there seems to be some kind of problem. The transformer(?) are "flattening" the polygons (zipcode areas) in the north-eastern part of Sweden. Why? And what can I do to solve or work around this?Thank you!:nicklas

I have a workspace producing various outputs, I'd like to produce a further output which details the number of distinct customers and number of distinct products for each output but this appears to be either convoluted involving multiple steps and statistics calculators or slow involving a count distinct in the inlinequerier. I have a reader (file geodatabase) that contains about 900 polygons and want to use each feature independently as a clipper in a Clipper transformer, since I want to clip a few rasters based on that clipper. The result should be connected to that input somehow.

Since there is actually clear warning that this transformer is intended for experienced users, is there a guide of some kind I could refer to?I did see the help section, but I am looking at some simple how to start ... what are the best ways to set up the transformer, if you have no idea what you are doing etc. Few hints really.I have attached sample of the file.Thank you

I've searched for a solution to this but none of the other posts seem to provide the minor detail I'm missing.My goal: I need to find the distance "as the crow flies" between street intersection points (point geometry features). What I have: Street Intersection points feature set with a unique ID field populated for each point.   What I've done: [1a] NeighborFinder (Street Intersection points as both the Base & Candidate inputs) [1b] Vertex Creator using the Nearest neighbor output ( Mode= Add Point ; _closest_candidate_x & _closest_candidate_y)   [2] LineBuilder (inputs are the original Street Intersection points and the Vertex Creators output points) grouping on the unique ID field. However this process does not output any lines. What am I missing?

Hi.I have a database of roughly a million polygons and I have another dataset of 50 polygons which represent areas of interest. Some of these areas of interest overlap.I would like to select every feature from the large database that overlaps an area of interest polygon and write these to 50 individual datasets. I tried to set up a loop using a spatial filter. Some screenshots are belowOverlapping areas of interestMain workbenchCustom transformerI should let you know I haven't worked with loops before in FME before. I was hoping the first area of interest polygon would enter the filter then the large database would enter the candidate path. It would select the correct polygons. The passed and failed features would enter back through the candidate path and it would perform the same operation on the next filter polygon.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Matt

I read a shp file, and work with the Extruder transformer , after that write to a geojson file, but geojson's geometry type is "MultiLineString", I want to set the geometry type of "MultiPloygon", how to set?    

The task is to read a postgis table (fully qualified namespace.tablename) from one database and write it to another database into the same namespace and with the same tablename. Table name and namespace are not known beforehand but get submitted in the form namespace.tablename as a parameter at runtimeI have successfully created this JobSubmitter workspace:which, according to this logfile runs successfully.The server workspace postgis2postgis.fmw looks like this:and when run, fails for reasons unknown to me. The server log is this: I cannot figure what I've misconfigured here, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using the FTPCaller to try and delete files on an FTP server. The translation log says "FTP: Deleted file 'ftp://<URL REDACTED>', total time: '0.281 seconds'" but when I refresh the directory in my FTP client, the file is still there.The FTP client shows dfrw permissions for the file and I can delete it in the FTP client.I've tried using upper and lower case versions of the file name with the same result.Any ideas?

Hi,I have been using the sql executor to run a sql server stored procedure which populates a table, I then try to use a feature reader to read from the table that has just been populated. Alas it times out. If I do either of these components separately it works leading me to believe FME is holding the connection open to sql server and creating a lock on the table, so that when the reader tries to read it can't. I am using the SQL Server JDBC Client. I will try with the Native Client but this will mean I can't use it with fme cloud which is what it is intended for. Has anyone else had this issue? Working log and failing log are attached.Many Thanks as always

Hi. I want to know if it's possible to use the 'linejoiner' tool by using an angle tolerance? For example, if I have 2 segments with an 'L' shape, I dont' want them to be joined together because they are 90° difference. But if my segments are less than 45° angle difference between each segment, I want them to be connected. Is there an easy way to do that? Thanks Frank.
