Hi All I've been having a look at the new engine assignment rules on recent version of FME Server. When creating a new Engine Assignment Rule you have the ability to create a custom engine property to use to assign engines. However I see no way of subsequently assigning that newely created property to an engine to use in the engine routing. In the Queue Control documentation it suggests that you can add custom properties to Engines, but only using Kubernetes https://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Server_Documentation/WebUI/Queue-Control.htm (towards the bottom of the page under 'To add a queue to a new rule') Is there something i'm missing? i've had a dig through the config files (thinking it might have to be a manual assignment similar to older versions of FME Server) also had a dig through and could find anything apparent in the REST API (side note - noted theres a new v4 API in the works) This could be really powerful if you were able to individually tag engines with

Hi,I am trying to complete this trail where it is requested to connect to a FME Server in order to upload the workspace. To try that I started a VM on stringo. But I dont know which FME Server Parameters I have to enter now to connect. Also I would like to access the web interface of the server in the VM but I didnt manage to login, maybe you can tell which login credentials are neccessary?Cheers,Merlin

I have an automation in FME Server 2020.1. I changed the workbench being triggered advanced setting from run until cancelled so that it is no longer checked but this change is being ignored and the log shows that it is still using that setting. Perhaps this is being cached? Anything I can do to force the change to be applied?

Hi, I have a postgresql database I am writing to it has the following fields:    changedetect_date timestamp without time zone NOT NULL DEFAULT now(),    changedetect_uuid character varying(36) COLLATE pg_catalog."default" NOT NULL DEFAULT uuid_generate_v4(),    pk_index integer NOT NULL GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS IDENTITY ( INCREMENT 1 START 1 MINVALUE 1 MAXVALUE 2147483647 CACHE 1 ), All these fields do not need to be inserted into by FME but FME is trying to insert NULL's into them even through the fields are not explicitly set in my feature writer (set to automatic and does not have these fields). When it inserts postgres gives an error 'ERROR: null value in column "pk_index" violates not-null constraint DETAIL: Failing row contains (...'POSTGIS writer: A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for detailsSuccessfully closed POSTGIS database writer=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- What can I do to get around this? I tried using ma

Issue best described with some images:  Anyone have any ideas as to why, before lunch it was running and reporting taking a few seconds, now it is taking a one minute but reporting as taking 3 seconds. I am running as a data stream. Thank you

Is it possible to resample a raster so the values left are one of the existing band values? If I use the raster re-sampler with the average 16 interpolation type, I get an average of the 16 cells but what I need is the value that occurs the most in these 16 cells.

I am unsure as to why I'm not able to connect to NetSuite via the ODBC connector in FME. I have Windows 10 (64 bit), FME Desktop (2019.2 b 19801 64bit) with the ODBC (64bit) driver installed. I have verified that the connection works in ODBC Source Administrator and also in Excel.  The error I receive in FME is: Error connecting to databaseDatabase Generated Error Information:Database Error Message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specifiedDatabase SQL Statement Text:SQL State: IM002Variable Information:ODBC 3.x Reader: Failed to connect to databaseI have verified the data source name matches with the username and password in the reader parameters, but I am unable to connect. Any ideas as to what I could do to get it to connect? 

I have a jp2 and jpw file. Reading the jp2 results in the data inspector showing the resulting data in the wrong location. How can I fix the location? I've tried setting the coordinate system on the reader but that doesn't fix it. I know the j2w file holds information about the location of the jp2 but I don't know how to read it along with the jp2. I know I'm likely missing something simple so I appreciate the help.

I've created a workflow to update, delete, and insert new records to an hosted feature service. The delete and update have been throwing log errors like:ArcGIS Online Feature Service Writer: 'updateResults' error for a feature in 'Job_Line'. The error code from the server was '1019' and the message was: 'The specified feature could not be updated or does not exist.' In the reader, I'm making sure to include arcgisonline_globalid and arcgisonline_objectid in the format attributes window. These appear in the Joined output for the FeatureJoiner (for updates) and the the Deleted output of ChangeDetector (for deletes). I'm really scratching my head as to how to the OBJECTID's can be incorrect in the writer when the reader is the same online source. The parameters for the Writer have Use GlobalID = No and Preserve GlobalIDs=No.For the layer, parameters are set to Writer Mode = Update (dont think this matters with fme_db_operations) and Trunca

FME Desktop 2020: How to concatenate based on a particular field when working with “AreaOnAreaOvelay” tool? When performing the “AreaOnAreaOvelay” tool, I wanted to create a field at which the values of the “autocad_color” field are concatenated as per the screenshot below. How this can be accomplished?           

FME Desktop 2020: How to filter all features that are “not equal to” a particular value,  For example, in the screenshot below, I wanted to filter all polygons that autocad color doesn’t equal to 10. How this can be performed in FME?      

I have created one text attribute using the AttributeCreator transformer and by default, its length is 50, there is no option to change this length in FME. This attribute is created for the feature class to save filename which is over 50 characters.

I receive an empty shapefile from our client and if I don't add any features, have to rename it.Since FME is feature based it won't write to a new shapefile if empty. The shapefile can also not contain a null feature so the NoFeatureTester or a null Creator is not an option.I'm currently on FME version 2019.2.1 How can I write empty shapefiles?

Hi guys,just wondering when using AreaOnAreaOverlay on single input, can it add attribute to show which records's overlap which? Currently i only get the overlap count option but ideally I'd like each record to be added as an attribute field and with a return value so i can see. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi everyone! I was trying to use the CurveFitter packaged transformer in FME 2019, but I received a weird message, telling me that I'm not authorized to use/download it (because of some licensing problem). Here is the message : Note that everything is OK with FME 2021 (it seems that this package was converted into a "real transformer"). I'm also able to open a workspace that includes this transformer with a 2019 version (this FMW : https://community.safe.com/s/article/using-and-understanding-the-curvefitter-transforme). However, I'm not able to access to it via the quick add or the transformer gallery.. So it's not really efficient. PS: I'm using a FME database edition + I've already done an update of the transformer gallery.

I recently inherited a workspace (sorry for all my other questions related and thanks for your time and patience 🙂)The problem with the workspace is that it has over 1400 transformers, at least according to this command of my provenience which might be incorrect:cat my_workspace.fmw | grep \<TRANSFORMER |wc -lI can hardly orientate myself in all the logic, since the canvas won't fit to my screen even at the lowest zoom. I only managed to oversight it printing to A0 pdf:Anyway, I don't know if this is common in real life FME projects. Are there any best practices regarding the complexity and extent of the workspace? Are there any possible performance drawbacks with bigger workspaces?My intuition would be to divide it and execute the resulting flows separately with WorkspaceRunner, but I cannot find a clear recommendation on it in the docs.
