I have two feature sets being joined with featurejoiner with approximately 50 attributes on the right and 50 on the left. I need to set ALL values of ALL unjoined attributes to uj_left or uj_right accordingly, in place of NULL (or is it MISSING?). I've had some ideas but wondering about a best management practice here. Let me know if you have any ideas. My test and concept ideas have included:1) add attribute manager following unjoined ports and set values on each unjoined attribute. Two issues here, one is that the unjoined right port doesn't show the left attributes and vice versa. The second issue is that I have 100 attributes, so I'm looking for a more automated solution.2) again add attribute manager following unjoined ports but this time just add one new attribute (join_status) and set the value accordingly uj_left, uj_right. Hi, I'm trying to create a workspace to check multiple DWG versions, Iäve tried Real DWG reader and others, but cannot find the attribut that tells me the version. Hi When I run the workspace "JobHistoryStatisticsGathering.fmw" I only get a csv file, nothing shows up in dashboard in FME server. Do I need to put all other workspaces "the ones that generate a html file" on schedule aswell? I mean the "AverageRunningTime,DailyAverageQuedTime,DailyTotalJobs,DailyTotalRunningTime,FailuresByWorkspace". Iam sure I read somewhere that everything is preconfigured so you just need to schedule 1 workspace and then all dashboards are generated at once and shows up in dashboard. But I cant find any option to do that, nothing in automations or schedule or anything. The only thing I find In schedule is "DashboardStatisticsGathering" wich triggers the "JobHistoryStatisticsGathering workspace" and also creates a notification "GENERATE_DASHBOARD". So I need some clarification in how to get the dashboards working without the need to put all workspaces on schedule, if that's possible. Thanks in advance.

I am working on revamping our corporate FME Server environment and I am trying to figure out how to spec our servers. How do the engines use the cpu cores? If I have two engines running on a four core machine, are they each using two or are there two cores sitting idle (Assuming both cores are running jobs)?

Hi list.I try to only make a full install once a year, when a new year release (e.g. 2021.0) is available, and use "engine only" for the lesser updates.I've just installed 2021.0 on our servers, and have encountered some problems that warrants installation action.In this scenario, is it possible to do a downgrade as an "engine only" update, or is that only possible for newer updates ?I.e., how tight are the GUI/queue frameworks tied to the engine versions ?Any insights are appriciated.Cheers.

Hi. I have a WMS service (Aerial) I would like to consume and clip to a JPEG or similar. Is this possible and if so, what transformers would I need to use?When I open the WMS I currently get an error...|ERROR |<WMS> Exception detected for the GetMap operation, requested Content-Type, 'image/png', returned Content-Type, 'text/html'.Eventually, I want to add this to a dwg output.Any help would be appreciated.Regards, Paul

I would like to create an FME workspace and publish it on one computer as a ReST API and would like to access that API from another computer in the same network.

I have an Excel Reader and several transformers that follow. I would like the attributes to update when I select a new .xlsx file. Most attributes should be the same but on occasion a file is submitted with one of the column names a little bit different. I was hoping that I would just have to re-connect those. What I have been experiencing is that I have to Update the Reader and then my AttributeManager transformers have to be completely rebuilt. Example:First Run - Fieldnames are CITY, STATE, ZIPSecond Run - Fieldnames are MY CITY, STATE, ZIPCODE Is there an easy way to handle this?

I have been tasked with reviewing another person's FME workbench, which contains a Python start-up script. When I try and run this script (from a PythonCaller transformer) I am receiving the following error i.e. Python Exception <ModuleNotFoundError>: No module named 'fmeutilities' andERROR |Error executing string `#global scope variable definitions / initialisations. The script is trying to import the modules 'fmeutilities' and 'fmeoutput' amongst others, which cannot be found on the server that the workbench is running on. I'm not sure if these need to be added via a localised install of Python or not? I can find an fmeobjects module on my server i.e. in the C:\\Program Files\\FME\\fmeobjects\\python37 folder) but non of the other modules the script is trying to import. I am using FME Desktop v2021.1 and the workspace python compatibility setting is set to Python 2.7 and 3 (see attached screenshots for more information). If someone can assist and

I've played around in Python in an ArcGIS Pro Notebook and like to take that code into FME. Because of organizational reasons, I might not be able to import the modules I need. Is there a way to make the profiles with other transformers? or some other way in Python, maybe?Attached is the code I use in ArcGIS and the testdata used there. Further attached is an example of the profile.  The data is organized in drill cores consisting of multiple layers, the thickness is indicated with Laagdikte [mm], the sample data has 3 drill core with 6 layers each.  Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Linda

Hi,  I am updating an existing table (in fact updating/inserting/deleting with fme_db_operation, created with ChangeDetector). All data is well updated, all coming from my revised source, on all columns of my destination table. However, I have a lot of warning telling me that the column xxxxxx does not exist in table XXXXXXX.In the database, the columns exist, of course. I am using a FeatureWriter and the feature types have been imported from dataset, Oracle Spatial Object and selecting the tables.All columns are not updated (some have the red triangle, other the green one). Any idea why I get these warning, whereas the columns are well updated ?

Hello, I'm new to FME and want to work out which transformers can be used for this task. I need to query a text field held in a CSV file against a list of values (text) stored in a separate CSV. If these values are present I would like to add a value of '1' to a new field in the CSV. I'm sure this is very basic but would be grateful for any assistance!Chris

I am creating PDF documents with a series of responses, so I first create a multi-line attribute then I pass that through the PDFPageFormatter and onto a PDF writer. The problem is some of the responses run off the page. I am needing to restrict the width of the multi-line attribute using something like a word-wrap function. Any ideas?

When I open my KML file in Google Earth, I can see the data displayed in folders in the table of contents. When I use the KML reader to read the data, that folder name doesn't show up on my features. How do I get that out?

The scenario: I have a set of 2000+ 3D polygons and a set of 2+ million(!) 3D points (with all Z's equal 0 at the start). The polygons are essentially surfaces. (I will call them that.) These surfaces massively overlap and have widely varying footprints but are at all sorts of different heights above ground. Hello, I am struggling with transforming a dataset that I have to the desired format. I have a table that looks (for example) like this:ID;16;50;60;75X1;10;25;80;95X2;30;30;90;X3;25;;80;100 The first issue is that I need to use the column headers to get classes:0-16, 16-50, 50-60, 60-75But for ID X3 the value in column 50 is missing and therefore I need to get the class 16-60 (instead of 16-50 as is the case for ID X1 and X2). I don't know how to create this in FME.  Secondly, I need to calculate the value for each class by substracting the values from each other. I have a number of GPS tracking records that contain straight line segments i.e. noise arisen from loss of signal. I would like to remove lines > 1 km to improve visualising the data. The workbench would need to:Find straight line segments within each dataset > 1kmBreak/Split the line on the vertexDelete the line > 1kmThe lines that have been split at either end can remain as they are i.e. do not need to be merged or joined Please can someone briefly describe the workflow that I would need to create to achieve this?

I'm making a custom transformer and the users will select multiple choices from a published parameter list that contains a value with text that includes a parsable field name with other info. I've been working to parse that out into a comma delimited attribute, which I now have. In my reading of other questions surrounding this, it seems like this is not possible with truly dynamic transformers/workspaces, but in my case I have a known list of the names. What is the best way to expose attributes that are known in this way in a custom transformer or in general?Thanks!

Hello all. I'm trying to determine the best way to read the schema of an SDE geodatabase. My end goal is to read each table/feature class' attributes and properties (name, data type, length/precision) from a File Geodatabase and compare them to tables/feature classes from an SDE geodatabase. Most are the same but can differ slightly for a quarterly data load of 300+ tables/feature classes. I've managed to use the Schema (Any Format) Reader for the File Geodatabase, but if I use the same reader on the SDE geodatabase, it gives me an error: "An error occurred while attempting to retrieve the connection parameters from the connection file ''". It sort of looks like it can't find the connection file, even though a working .sde connection file is in the "Source Dataset" parameter, and there aren't many other parameter options available. Does anyone have thoughts on how to configure the Schema (Any Format) Reader for an SDE geodatabase, or is t
