Hi All, am trying to work out how to build some logic into an automation on FME SERVER. Here is my workflow: Workspace reads Arcgis feature service every day. If it reads a record with "Attribute A' = "HIGH" (test filter) then email bob the workspace outputs (csv of "HIGH' Records) , if "AttributeA" = "LOW" email Mary the workspace outputs (csv of 'LOW' records). I'm unsure where I'm meant to build this logic. Is it in the workspace or automation? The automation action (run workspace) only has 'Action Succeeded' or 'Action Failed'. Am I meant to be passing a notification from the workspace to the automation??. I have read all I can find on this but must be missing something. Thanks Steve.

Hi all, we've just installed FME server, on a standalone machine. All components on one server. We are able to access the fme web interface from the server itself (it's configured for https) and all looks great. However we're unable to access the site from any workstations. Our network team says they have allowed traffic through port 443 (https) so we should be ok there. When trying to load the site on Chrome, we get the following error: The Site can't be reached.... took to long to respond....ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT. Any thoughts? Not sure what else to try at this point. Our network team is still working on this, and trying to determine where the traffic is being blocked but thought I'd see if anyone else has had this issue. Is 443 the only port needed to be open in this case? -Thanks in advance. 

Can SQLExecutor be used to get around having to read in all the data from a database table into FME and then running a feature joiner?Consider the example below we need to read in the entire table of 2Million plus records to extract data we are interested in.What I think should be possible but I'm not sure how to implement it is to create a temp table and use that as a subselect or joined table to get the data using a SQL query

Hi all,My question is regarding performance actually...I'm going through a process of reading data (shp) trimming it, doing change detection and writing it to a sde. Some of my data contains 5.000.000 objects, so it takes forever to run it, which is not a problem in production mode. In the testing fase, when tweeking and changing settings it is a big hazzle though. I have added a tester to both my original data source and the revised data source to filter out a small portion of data, but it still has to go through every single object when reading the data... So my question is: Is there a way to avoid having to read everything from both datasets? Thanks :-)

Hi FME team,I want to create a list from attributes, retain the site IT and Metric - with the metric values. So effectively I will have a feature for each Site ID and Metric combination. I've tried ListBuilder and ListExploder but not working as I'd like. Attached is an example of what I have and where I need to get to. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks.

I am struggling with creating centerlines in wall geometry from CAD, where some squirrely ones show up:I was hoping that I could filter by # of vertices, or separating by angle, but this is not reliable. Any ideas? Thanks,@larue​  

Sometimes one ends up with tables that contain empty columns. Is there a way to detect if an attribute is not being used, if it is "empty", and then remove it from the table? A automatic table cleaner of sorts. This would make the management of data "creep" a lot easier.

I too ran into the issue raised by @jurgen​  in https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000084ATxeSAG/how-can-i-merge-an-automation-flow-when-using-dynamic-workspaces - that my workspace that uses an automation writer, can't be funnelled into a merge-action. In the response, @daraghatsafe​ said that an enhancement request is on the way - but I needed to solve the issue before then.  This connection isn't possible right now Problem: We need some way of knowing that all the workspaces had run successfully, before we'd run the final step. In my case, I didn't want to update the "I've imported all the data up to and including this date"-field, until all the imports were done.  Idea: What we need, is to build a state store, where we can keep track of the completed workspaces for one specific run of one specific automation. We could build this in f.ex. any database, but then we run into issues with having to create schemas/tables for each automation. Instead

How can i do this? I tried everything i could.The number of columns needs to be dynamic.. if Town III is 5 times then there should be JB5 ZB5 and RT5.The RT1 Column is the Order in which they should be (see colour)

Hello, I am trying to make a REST API call to one of our servers from inside of a Workspace with an HttpCaller and I am not sure where would be ideal to store or pass credentials like username-password pairs/tokens that are required for this. I don't want to just leave it hardcoded in the Workspace, what I'm looking for is some kind of storing mechanism for sensitive data from where we can retrieve it later in a Workspace.(whether it's in the Cloud/Server does not matter, as long as it's via an FME feature) Any alternative/tipp would be greatly appreciated on the topic of credentials/security measures when working with the FME ecosystem. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to attach a file to the Email External Action in an Automation that always has a different filename (date/time) but is in the same location, and is the only file in the folder. I've added this folder as a resource and tried to use a * wildcard but it fails to send the email. If I give the exact filename, the email sends successfully with the attachment. Also, I can do this successfully using the Emailer transformer in a Workspace and feeding it the exact name via a Text File Reader, but I'd rather use the External Action in Automations if possible. Any thoughts?Thanks! 

Embarrassed to be asking this but in an FME Server Automation how do I get just the raw the "Content" from the trigger FME Server Topic Notified. We have the various keys but none of them seem to correspond directly to the Content of the notification. Please don't tell me Content has to be Json keys! 😅  In the workspace the FME Server Notifier has a Content parameter so

Hi all,I wonder if it is possible to have FME expose the day of the week at the time of running the workbench? E.g. If the workbench is running today I would like to have an attribute "day_of_week" that has "Wednesday" as a value.If it is run tomorrow the attribute should read "Thursday" etc etc Thanks!Ed

I have attached the actual workbench below. SO in more detail, what I am trying to do is to output fanned out (by council name) shape files and GDBs to an already existing folder (of the same name as the council name attribute) on a drive somewhere. Is there a way to direct the output data to go into the different council folders when this workbench is run for all councils?The intention is to place this in the server and then schedule it to run on a quarterly basis.any thoughts?thanking you in advance.

I have an excel spreadsheet with 3 columns (featureclass, tag, summary). I want to update the metadata.xml file that corresponding to the featureclass. These xml files are embedded in a column in an sde table gdb_items. I'm able to extract the xml, but I don't know how to add xml elements. I have seen the xmlUpdater which works but only when that tag exists in the xml. Also, the "tag" field in the excel is a list of tags separated by commas. I need to create multiple <keyword> tags, one for each item. Here's my workspace so far. shows the xml without the existing "summary" and "tag" <idPrup> <searchKeys> with child nodes <keyword>, respectively shows xml with those nodes (lines 80 to 86)

Hi everyone. I am new to XML and am having some difficulties using the XMLUpdater and XQuery. My issue is around updating 3 attributes within an xml element from 3 attributes in an FME list to create multiple children. When I do this for a record which has say 2 items in the list it’s producing 9 children instead of 2, do I need to group my data somewhere in my XQuery? I’ve attached a sample workbench and data. I am reading an Excel document, then creating a list of all LCS_Codes and their measures per TAC_Code. I then want this list to form the children of a location element within my XML. I'm trying to convert a DWG with solids to an OBJ mesh.The conversion is good but the OBJ doesn't include the color of the solid ("autocad_color"). I tried GeometryColorSetter but I can't seem to set it up properly.I also tried the AppearanceSetter, following this post: https://community.safe.com/s/question/0D54Q000080he8G/how-to-set-the-color-of-an-ifc-objet-ifcproxy but I can't set it up correctly Could you give me some suggestions on how to setup the transformer GeometryColorSetter (or a better one) so that it takes the "autocad_color" of the geometry and gives the same color to the resulting obj.

Hi, Is there a way to replace curve rings in polygon geometries with vertices along the curve without generalizing the whole geometry. The input is a feature class in a file geodatabase. Thank you for the info! 

We have certain coordinate system transfomation requirements for LLH to grid coordinate conversions that are difficult to satisfy using the available reprojectors.I would like to understand how to build and provide a custom projector to be used in our FME transformation pipelines.

Hallo! I'm trying to set the folders in the zip-file for my data download service, as discribed in this question It works the first time I set the folders. But when I need to do a change in the zip-file order, the value of the 'Path to zip-file' are 'stuck'. Even if I edit them, they go back to the value they were initially set to. when i change the Default line width to 0.6 in feature wirter ( adobe geospatial pdf in Feature writer ) ,i found it changes for all layers . i would like to change only for one layer and others still has the same width of lines .How could i achieve it ?i need only to change paramter of width of lines in one layer without effecting other lines at other layers . my workspace : i have different lines ,with different colors and i would like to increase the width line with green color that i show in pdf output and others still have the same line width in pdf output .Thanks in advanceFME 2018  

Selected blue area is polygon. Red lines is line.I want to cut the blue area according to the lines and create 3 areas.  

The workspace tries to read a CSV from internet and write a feature class in a geodatabase. I am trying to use this workbench with a remote desktop machine, which has all the licenses needed installed. Just a note, the workspace works perfectly well in local when not using the remote machine.  It also works when using Open API geodatabase writer or shapefile writer. I though it may be a licensing issue, but then the workspace works when you run it from the beginning to the join and then from the join to the end, instead of running the entire workspace. So I though maybe it was the temporary storage failing, so I changed the temporary files storage folder but the same error appears. BTW, the error is very generic "Error running translation" so I do not know what else to do. I would appreciate any help to solve this issue. Right now I've split the worspace in two, one to read and download the CSV file in the remote machine, and another to read the CSV from the remote machi

We are trying to automate updating the metadata on feature classess, in particular at the level of the Entity and Attribute Information level for the fields in our feature classes.I have tried both methods of updating from an XML file or directly from the file geodatabase as metadata, but I can't seem to expose the information down to the field level of XML detail.We are basically trying to update the Definition & Definition Source of all attribute fields in the feature class from an table. see highlighted area below to show help explain.Is there something simply I am missingThanks
