Dear community,Upcoming June the 14th Microsoft DCOM will get ‘hardened’ by a update. Therefore I would like to know if the DCOM-protocol is used in any way within FME and if anyone knows this update could affect FME server. If this is the case, it is necessary to test the new hardening. Hello, I have a 3d file created with Speckle, in json format (attached). Can you help me to read the geometry?  I have been able to extract the mesh data using the JSONFragmenter, but am struggling with making geometry from it. I have tried the GeometryReplacer but cant seem to find the right encoding option. The data is the sample revit model, and should look like thisMany thanks,  Owen

My attempt to export to PDF seemed fairly impossible, so I changed my approach to export to MS Word instead. I've made some progress; I've managed to create a single table that has all records from all of the worksheets - I need to be able to split the data out by these grids (i.e. separate sheets/tables for each grid). I also need these sheets to be in landscape rather than portrait orientation. However, I'm a bit stuck and I'd appreciate any advice that can be offered on how to achieve the result I desire! Looking for a way to load in files using their path stored in a csv column. I have several different file formats (.mif, .tab, .dem, .grd) that I need to reproject in FME. I've generated a csv that contains the full path location of each file on a new row. I'm wondering if it is possible to import these files directly from the csv, preferably separated by their file extension. I'm a complete beginner, so appreciate any advice. Cheers, Angus

Hi folks, I was wondering, is there a way to intentionally write to FME's temp location?  I want to create a workbench that's portable and needs to write a lot of scratch data using a few workbench-runners (deleted at the end of the process).  Is it possible to intentionally write to it? There doesn't seem to be anything on http://fmepedia.safe.com/articles/FAQ/FME-TEMP-environment-variable . I've done some testing:  - %FME_TEMP% as the destination just means FME creates a directory called that. - <FMEDrive> in various guises just results in a workbench crash. - Not specifying a directory means that FME writes the file to wherever the workbench is saved. Only if it's an unsaved (new) workbench will this be the fme_temp directory itself.  Thoughts? Is this even possible? I'd prefer not to have to hard-code somewhere, or even bother with a user parameter.  Cheers, Jonathan

In the MapnikRasterizer settings, in the Raster Properties section, it is necessary to specify the number of columns and rows of the output raster.  When I enter this information manually, there is no problem. When I want these parameters to be filled in dynamically, i.e. using the number of columns and rows of the input raster (using a RasterPropertyExtractor beforehand to access the attributes), I get this error message:"MapnikRasterizer_2 (MapnikFactory): No values were specified for either NUM_ROWS and NUM_COLUMNS, or SPACING. One or the other must be specifiedMapnikRasterizer_2 (MapnikFactory): A fatal error has occurred. Hi, I'm trying to use the output of an Automations Writer (workspace 0) as input for the next workspace (1). For the two 'Text' User Parameters, I can use the drop down menu and choose the 'SFTP_Username' Attribute of the Automations Writer as the input for the next Workspace. However, for the 'Password' User Parameter, the is no drop down menu to choose the 'SFTP_Password' Attribute of the Automations Writer. I have tried inserting it as '{route.ConnectionParameters.SFTP_Password}' and this did not work. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated! Regards

On FME Server there is a job running in some kind of loop. I am not able to cancel the job; even when I cancel the jobs it keeps running. I have tried many things:- disabling the automation- removing the workspace We restarted the Server, but the job just started immediately.  I find this information in the System Events:Event Description: Triggered whenever an error message is logged to fmeserver.log.Event Title: Error Message LoggedMessage: ERROR: duplicate key value violates unique constraint "fme_job_history_pkey" Detail: Key (job_id)=(37020) already exists. Does someone has an idea how I can fix the issue?

Hi list.I have a dataset with mixed date/time formats in a single field.I want to create a cascade to transform these, i.e. "Try this format", and if it fails, "Try that format", etc.HOWEVER, when data are output on DateTimeConverter's rejected port (signalling a data error), the field value is cleared, rendering a cascaded approach impossible. Why is that ??Is there a way to avoid this unwarranted nulling of a possible valid field value ?Cheers.

Hi,I'm using the TopologyBuilder to create relationships between water mains (the edges) and the valve furniture (the nodes). Our corporate GIS (Gwater, Oracle based) has an start and end node for each feature to show connectivity, but ARCGIS does not . These values do not exist and I have to create them to align the two GIS systems.So far the results have been good, as the corporate GIS feature can only connect to two other features. This doesn't happen in ArcGIS for one particular type of feature called a cross valve, which connects 4 mains pipes.I can find the 4 pipes a cross connects to, but not the direction in which they connect to create the east-west and south-north connectivity. There's nothing in the topologybuilder output which suggests this relationship:  I was wondering if I can use the spatial location of the pipes that the cross connects to to determine which one is easterly of the cross, westerly and so on:Any idea how this might be achieved? Im a very beginner with FME. I've a polygon (gpkg) file, which has several attr. columns. 3 of these column contents should be under one column. I prob. need to create new column where to put contents of these 3 separate columns, right? How? Thanks!

I'm attempting to transform the input Rain Gauge data set to the desired output as shown in the above inserted image but I'm at a loss on how to proceed? The important factors are:The time period is defined by the user, in this example 01/01/2022 - 10/01/2022 and the output table needs to include all days in that range.The input Rain Gauge data only contains data for when it rained so not all dates are included.I need to some how produce a column per Rain Gauge reference, then look up the associated rain fall value for each of the days and populate the new table structure.The number of rain gauges can vary. I have completed the process of creating a list of all dates for the requested time period. I can't begin to fathom how to manipulate the data as shown and explained above.If completing this in Excel I would have created a pivot to produce the table below:  Any help will be gratefully received! Thank you.

I am having problem writing attributes with swedish characters (åäö) to a mssql table.The characters get replaced by other strange characters instead. I am using FME Desktop 2022.0.0.2 build 22343.The database is set up with collation Finnish_Swedish_CI_AS as it should be.Other programs such as QGis is writing åäö to the table correctly.Is there some kind of setting that I need to do in FME or is this a bug?

Hi list.I'm trying out the new version 2022.0 of FME Server, and is looking at handling engine assignments.I imported a backup from our normal production server (2020.2), and it created all my queues, and matched these with the engines on the old server (though I had to redo this part due to the wrong naming).But the coupling of jobs and engines is rather different in 2022 from 2020.One thing that puzzles me, is that the restore created some "properties" for each engine, but I cannot find these anywhere in the interface. E.g. properties "22434", "WIN64" and "FME-SERVER003_Engine1" (see picture below).What are the purpose of these properties, and how can you use them ?And how can you delete them, if you don't want them ?Cheers

I want to be able to present the user with a single input option that will accept either a shapefile or an FGDB feature class. It doesn't seem possible to me because: the generic reader doesn't seem to allow you select an FGDBI can't have a shapefile reader and an FGDB reader in my workspace, but only use one Am I really going to have to create 2 workspace apps, one that processes shapefiles and one that processes FGDB feature classes? FME Desktop 2021.2 and FME Server 2021.2.

Hello! FME newbie here 👋 I have 100+ Excel workbooks, each of which has 2-4 worksheets in them. To prep to do some schema mapping, I'd like to read out all of the attribute names to a new spreadsheet (Excel or CSV, doesn't matter). Could anyone give me some guidance on how to do this?
