Hey everyone, I am trying to write a file to a temporary filepath in my PythonCaller script and I thought that using the TempPathnameCreator transformer might save me some time coding something which is a basic function in FME. Unfortunately if I try to write the file to the location I get a python error that says that the location does not exist. I have used the OS python package to test if the temporary path is valid and it is not. Am I using the TempPathnameCreator incorrectly and is it logical that my PythonCaller is unable to write to the temporary location?

Hi I need to post requests to SOAP to retrieve some information about Planning cases back in XML and I have read the article: https://community.safe.com/s/article/working-with-soap-services Our process is more complicated as I need to log in and out of SOAP at the start/end of the process.  I created steps in a TestCase in SOAPUI and it worked and I have set up a workbench with the following transformers: CreatorXML Templater (for login)HPPTCaller (for login - cookies enabled)XML Templater (to Get data)HTTPCaller (to Get data)XML Templater (to logoff)HTTPCaller (to logoff) While this worked for retrieving one planning case I actually need to retrieve information on multiple cases but cannot get this to work. So I have tried it with obj models. But this doesnt work for me! I got this rejection code: INVALID_SHARED_ITEM(SharedItemIDSetter). How can I solve this problem? Workflow:

I've got a set of polygons from a PostGis DB and want to write them to DGN. On one level, I've got the polygons and on another level, named label, I want to put out a text string from an attribute. Some of the polygons have more than one entry here, which leads to stacked texts - I've used a centerpoint replacer, labelpointreplacer and dgnstyler. I guess when only having two or three entries, I could solve the problem by subtracting a fixed value from "igds_insertion_y", but I don't know how many entries will be there in advance and already encountered some cases where a polygon had 40 to 50 entries I have to write one below the other.

I have a series of PDF documents that contain a map that came from the ArcGIS Map Series tools (over 2000 in all). I am reading each of the PDF's in and converting to BMP and saving the images to a local drive so I can use the images in a HTML report.  Rather than store the images locally, I was wondering if there was a way to convert the images to base64 and save the base64 as an attribute and then just use that attribute in the HTML document? Is this possible? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I have simple workbench, which pulls data from Oracle Spatial and writes the data into Postgres Dynamic Writer. The workbench when ran, throws the following error,"Esri Geodatabase Writer: Feature Type Definition 'd_y_n' was requested, but not defined. Hi there, can anyone please help me how can I filter some record that have a particular word. For example, I would like to filter all the road name starts with 'The ' (e.g. The Meadow but not like 'Theodor road'. If I use contains/begins with in the tester, it gives me all that have string part 'The'. I never used Regex editor. A good response will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi ,Recently we have upgraded our FME Desktop version from FME 2021 to FME 2022. Since then to Fetch data from Esri ArcGIS Portal Feature Service (Reader) is very low. Even to fetch around 10k records it takes about 10 mins, However in FME 2021 it was working very well and it takes about only few seconds only to fetch the same size of records. Is this a known issue with FME 2022?

I have a DWG file I'd like to read into FME to extract certain information from. When I add the file in a Reader and choose to read Individual Feature Types, I get >100 different Feature Types, but almost all of these are empty (ie have no features in them when I run everything). Is there a way to easily select and delete these empty Readers, or alternatively to tell FME to only add those which have features in them in the first place? I have tried using the PURGE command in AutoCAD to clear any layers with no features in prior to reading the file in FME, but this doesn't seem to have done anything - I have very little CAD experience so it could definitely be that I've done this incorrectly.

With the help of the following request url in the Httpcaller, it was possible to get a returned xml output with information about one feature. However instead of retrieving information about one feature, ideally I would like to retrieve metadata of all the items from ArcGIS Online. Does anyone might have an idea how that can be achieved? This url gets me metadata of one feature.https://<companyname>.maps.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/content/items/<Item Id>/info/iteminfo.xml 

I'm trying to add a esri sde geodatabase reader to a workbench without an sde connection file. I have an example workbench I got from someone else, (but who left the company) with a geodatabase reader where I can just fill in the user credentials and server instance, and then it will read the database.  So in te example above a new connection file is not needed. However, if I try to add a new reader I can only add one when I provide it with a sde connection file. Can someone tell me how to get parameters like in the picture with an esri sde geodatabase reader?

Can I use polyline (.shp file) and convert them to 3d display them with AR(FMEAR) ?

I have created 3d tileset combining many tilesets. I can see the parent geometry error, but for child tilesets geometry error is missing. How can I add geometry error for child tilesets? Please help me if someone have resolved this kind of issue.

I have a WMTS that works fine in QGIS, but which I can not get to work in FME Desktop (2021.2 and 2022.1). I have a dataset containing 10ish attributes. Most of the fields are empty (if an item has a value in attr1, it has no value in attr2, attr3, attrN, etc), and I want to have a single attribute containing the value of all the others.

I have two geodatabase.I used "AreaOnAreaOverLayer" to have the intersections of features for the one of the geodatabase and then, for the second geodatabase. It creates for both, a field named “Overlaps”.It works correctly. After that, I wanted to join the two geodatabases The two geodatabase overlap but they haven’t the same name so I can’t use « feature joiner » because I haven’t a common field.With the transformer “clipper” I haven’t all fields  (It misses the field “overlaps” of one of the geodatabase)With “AreaOnAreaOverLayer”, “SpatialRelator”, “SpatialFilter” and NeighboorPair” one of the field "overlap" is null That’s why I want a transformer to make a spatial join and not a attribute join with all fields of two geodatabase. Thank you !

I would like to incrementally download features including attachments (jpg images) using the ArcGIS Portal feature Service Reader. I want to do this by filtering the feature creation date using a tester. This works fine but when I check the option to download the attachments, it takes an enormous amount of time. It's a large datset and I only want to download some of the most recently added data. Is there any way to perform the tester operation first before downloading the attachments?

Instead of logging in and looking at the credits usage on ArcGIS.com daily/weekly, I would like to have a script running finally in the FME server that runs daily or weekly and informs me via a mail that the credits has reached a certain amount. This informs me that additional credits need to be bought.  Does anyone know what would be achievable in FME desktop? How can I retrieve credits information within FME deskstop?

Hello My 2 recent posts were related to issues experienced with FME 2022.I was hoping this one would disappear however it still persists using the latest build. It did stop (previous build) some of my critical workflows from functioning properly although the translations were successful. Basically Attribute Manager will highlight some of my values in Red.But the transformer's cog itself isn't red. It seems to affect Arithmetic values or use of functions.  Here's the workflow - Nothing unusualLet's check the Attribute ManagerValues highlighted in Red for no apparent reasons I click on the Attribute Values and they return to "normal" however when you close / re-open the Transformer sane thing happens. Not sure what is going on here.Translation is successful though. ThanksSameer
