I have a table of addresses with these values in a single field, example: Main St/Carter Ave. I want to put Main St in a new field named StreetName, and Carter Ave in a new field named IntStreetName. I know there must be a method for parsing the values to the left and right of the "/" separator. How can I do this in FME? I know how to do this in python using split. I am new to FME.

I have a mix column that contains numbers and letters. in some records the first value or two first values ​​are number and then is a space then comes letter. the space und letter don't appear in all records. if a record contains this space I want to remove the space between number and letter.For example : 2 a -> 2a oder 22 a -> 22a.   

Hi!I have a problem with JSONUpdater and the function "Delete From Array". My case : I have this JSON fileI want to delete the value 79240 in "structure_ids". In JSONUpdate, I can't write the value, it doesn't work.I do write the position of this value. How can I do this dynamically? Is there an IndexOf function on FME?And when I write a position, here 4, in JSONUpdater, it removes 2 values ​​instead of one (79240,79389). Thank you for your help

Hello,I have several thousand records, each with a date and demographic information. I have set up a workflow using the statistics calculator to get a cumulative sum of each demographic column. Where I am hung up though is grouping these records into weeks, and then doing my cumulative statistics for each week.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We currently have an Excel macro to copy cell data from an Excel source sheet and paste to another destination sheet. Once pasted, we will position those data in particular columns and apply some lookups.What would be the best approach to mimic such process in FME? Is it feasible to execute all those detailed steps by using FME transformer(s)?

We have digitized some roofs with dormers.Now during the creation process the dormers were digitized into the main roof to avoid gaps. Unfortnatley there were no snapping used.For example:Is there a way in fme to cut these roof polygons from dormers which are inside the main roof (blue line)?

Just found that a workspace I thought was working perfectly is not writing out BLOB attributes. The workspace creates schema attributes and writes out to a geodatabase. Unfortunately, the schema features for BLOB attributes--currently set with native_data_type = blob--are not writing out. So:Can FME even write out Blob attributes in schema features to a geodatabase?If so, what is the native_data_type to use for a BLOB attribute?Is the native_data_type value in the case of a BLOB (or in any case for that matter) case-sensitive?I have not been able to get FME to read BLOB fields from and existing geodatabase, so I don't have a native_data_type value to inspect. My BLOB attributes in the schema features currently have a native_data_type value of "blob" and an fme_data_type of fme_binarybuffer. Any insights? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hey there,I need to transform a CSV-formatted file containing Geometry assignments into LandXML. Therefor geometry describing/containing clothoids need to be clothoids in the LandXML. They can be at the start, in the middle or at the end of a (line) geometry. I know how to create linear geometry (VertexCreator) and arc geometry (2DArcReplacer). But clothoids? 🤷‍♀️

I have a specific use case wher i need to read many dwg files. an dget several feature types from a specific layout (paperspace). 1 of the featuretypes i need to extract is autocad_insert. If i explode blocks on the reader I lose ALL layout information. specifically i need a closed polyline that is within the block. The insert point of the block is what i am going to have to use to place that polygon. so i will have to calculate the center of the polygon and use that to place it at the insert point of the block. I would be suprised if fme is not capable of deconstructing the block into it's components. i just hope it is a a logicial model. The block I am trying to gain access to is very simple. Just a polyline. nothing else.

A Tester: what could be simpler? I feel silly asking this, but I must. I have two sets of features, both resulting from reads from the same geodatabase (GDB). One set comes from a FeatureReader through the <Schema> port. The second set comes from a PythonCreator that uses fmeobjects/arcpy to create FME features having a few attributes containing schema information but not geometry. The plan is to run the two sets through a FeatureMerger to add the attributes of the second set to the first set. All well and good. Before sending all the features to the FeatureMerger, though, I wanted to remove from each set any features that have "OBJECTID," "SHAPE_AREA," or "SHAPE_LENGTH" values for a particular attribute. So, I send each feature set through its own Tester. The tests in each Tester are the same, except for the attribute name holding the tested value. I have a feature class in a file geodatabase with a Raster data type field, whose values I want to write to an SDE feature class with an equivalent Raster field.When I use the GEODATABASE_FILE reader, the raster column is not listed in the resulting feature class. Likewise with the FILEGDB. To make sure I wasn't missing something I tried the GEODATABASE_FILE_RASTER_DATASET and GEODATABASE_FILE_RASTER_CATALOG readers, which, as expected, would not recognize the feature class.When I use the GEODATABASE_SDE writer the raster field is also omitted. Again, trying the raster readers, GEODATABASE_SDE_RASTER_CATALOG and GEODATABASE_SDE_RASTER_DATASET did not recognize the feature class.Does FME handle the ArcGIS geodatabase Raster field type? Using FME Version 2019.0.1.0 Build 19253

Dear all, I hope the community is fine 🙂 I am using FME Server to run a workspace that has 2 optionals user parameters published. After launching the workspace, everything is ok.Next time I go to run the workspace, the optional parameter is set with the previous value.    The user can click on the "reset" button to clear by himself, but I would like to know if there is a way to automatically clear these optional parameter values in FME Server? Kind regards, Aymeric

Hi all, I'm running into an issue when trying to INSERT & TRUNCATE an existing ArcGIS Portal feature layer via an FME writer. The error message I am receiving can be seen below: ArcGIS Portal Feature Service Writer: Encountered an unexpected error. The error code from the server was '500' and the message was: 'Cannot perform operation. Invalid operation parameters.'. Details: '' I've read through a couple of older posts about this issue and followed the suggested fixes, but these don't seem to help in my case - fixes include checking there isn't a mismatch in schemas, and reducing the 'Feature Per Request' in the writer settings. To see if there was an issue with updating more complex feature layers, I have tested with a simple feature layer and still having the same error message. This polygon feature layer (3x rows, 1x string field) was published from ArcGIS Pro to Portal and can be read into FME with no issue, but the same error oc

Hi all, In the last few days we've set many small steps leading up to the problem we now have. We have polygons, where one attribute of each polygon is a list of bird species, which occur in that area. This list is of course different for all polygons, the polygon-specific list. We also have a list of bird species which should occur in that area. This list is the same for all polygons (in this subset), the general list. Now, we would like to compare the list of each polygon, with the list for all polygons. We have tried many transformers, and our last option (at the moment) is the PythonCaller, where we hardcode the second list as a set, and compare it with the polygon-specific list, converted to a set. We group by the id of the polygon, because we want to compare each polygon-specific list to the general list. This is our Python-code:import fmeimport fmeobjects x = {'item 1','item 2','item 3'} class FeatureProcessor(object):    def __init__(self):        self.feature_list = []

I’m using FME 2020.2 (FME(R) 2020.2.0.0 (20201027 - Build 20787 - WIN64)) and I have ArcGIS Pro 2.6 and ArcGIS Desktop 10.4 (with 64 bit background geo-processing) installed. I have a File Geodatabase (FGDB) that FME is unable to read.  The error I'm getting is : “It could have failed to open because it contains ArcGIS Pro-only features, for example Arcade expressions. If this is the case, please install ArcGIS Pro-compatible ArcGIS Sever and 64-bit FME." This FGDB contains a relatively new ESRI field type called contingent values on a feature class.  ESRI notes this makes the FGDB incompatible with ArcMap and releases prior to ArcGIS Pro 2.3 and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.7.x. It appears that FME is defaulting to using the ArcGIS Desktop libraries rather than the newer ArcGIS Pro libraries when both application are installed. The only work around I have identified at this time is uninstalling ArcGIS Desktop.  Once I do this FME will read the File Geodatabase without any errors

I would like to get the predominant line for each polygon. I have tried using the 'CenterlineReplacer' but that doesn't work well since a lot of these shapes aren't long and narrow areas.  I only need one line per polygon, but it needs to be straight. The length of the line doesn't matter. I'm interested in the direction. Does anyone have an idea about how I can approach this task?
