I have a process where I determine the last ID number used for two id fields using statistics calculator. I then use an aggregator to merge the two ID's. I then bring about 100 records from another table and am wanting to add these ID's to it. But what is happening is that the two ID's are just being added as another record instead. I have tried using variable setter & retriever but those didn't work at all.

Hello Sir / Madam, So I would like to subtract both "Top Height" and "Rooflevel" attributes. I use attribute manager to calculate the value@round(@abs(@Value(TopHeight)-@Value(ROOFLEVEL)),1) The result is shown as below.However, I want my result to be <null> if either TopHeight or Rooflevel is <null>. I have a 2016 workspace that I'm upgrading to 2021.2.5. The basic workflow is SQLExecutor -> GeometryReplacer -> Clipper with an AOI -> FileGDB.What comes out of the DB is the geodb_type which helps to determine features get routed either the polyline or annotation feature class. GeometryReplacer is used to convert from WKT so that features can be clipped with the AOI. From SQLExecutor, geodb_type has values (geodb_polyline, geodb_arc, geodb_annotation), but when it comes out of GeometryReplacer, geodb_type values are all missing. So after clipping, everything gets routed to the polyline fc, which will produce this error: "Cannot write a non-linear feature to a polyline feature class." [geometryreplacer_geodb_type.png] My workaround is to use GeometryFilter to route the features + a new AttributeCreator to hard-code geodb_type values to ensure the right features are created in FileGDB, rather than rely on geodb_type values. I am reading a record from a SDE geodatabase and using that record to create a new record. What is happening though is that it is just overwriting the old record. I need to have two records at the end. I select it based on an id and essentially need to make a copy of the record and then overwrite some of the values. Any idea of how I can do that?

I would like to see if a value from a specified column/attribute can be counted into another column based on how many times it appears across multiple columns. I hope to do this for every feature/row of a dataset. Example of the data below : In this case, I would like specify the value in the DominantValue field, and I would like to see how many times this value appears in fields: AreaCount1, AreaCount2, AreaCount3, AreaCount4, Areacount5, and AreaCount6. The number of times it appears would be stored in a field called dvcounter. For example the desired output would look something like the below table: Does anyone have any recommendations as to what transformers or workflows can provide this "count" field? Hello, newbie here. I'm using AttributeManager to rename and remove some Attributes - and to add a new Attribute using a Conditional Value based upon (among others) an Attribute named IATA, which contains airport call letters. For San Francisco International Airport, IATA contains "SFO" but for Nadi International Airport, the IATA Attribute contains "NAN". No matter how I try to force FME to treat those call letters as a string, it eventually becomes "if NAN != null... and I get "nan" as the result. Pretty sure that's a bug (2019.2). Note: Set Value with @Value(IATA) works fine with "NAN". It seems to be only the Conditional Value code that has the problem. Does anyone have an idea how to conditionally process an Attribute that may contain the value "NAN" (or other values that might also be mathematical constants)?

Is it possible to get an additional attribute from a las file in FME. Indeed I have an input point cloud in las format with a vertical distance attribute on each point.I need this attribute to make statistics.How to get this attribute directly when reading the las file (or other) without passing "PointCloudCoercer"?

Hi,Does anybody have any experience writing GDB metadata images into SDE?I can update just about anything but inserting an image to the item description needs to be in a specific ESRI binary format (EsriPropertyType="PictureX") and the AttributeFileReader transformer does not support this encoding type. Cheers, Itay

I'm using an ArcGIS Feature reader to read a layer with two tables. The two tables have 9257 and 9606 rows. After reading the two tables, I join them. At this point (with feature caching) I can see that I have 9606 rows. This is correct. The last step of the workspace is to use an ArcGIS Feature writer to populate a different layer.  The ArcGIS Feature Writer has the following Parameters for Layer: Writer Mode: Insert Truncate First: Yes Currently, my destination Feature layer has 10584 rows. How could this be? How can I exceed the number of rows in my source layer? I just ran the workspace up to the Writer and can see 9606 items going into the Feature Writer. then, I ran the entire workspace and the destination layer now has 9752 rows. I'm perplexed. This is a public facing dashboard and I need accuracy. I do run this workspace from a batch file and schedule it to run at 3:00 AM with Windows Task Scheduler. A few years ago I created a FME-hub custom transformer InlineGeoJSON. It creates a GeoJSON file with FeatureCollections. The transformer works fine in fme 2020, but does not work in versions starting from FME 2021. This has something to do with the dynamic schema setup. The current error is:  GEOJSON writer: Unknown feature type 'GeoJSON' passed to the JSON writerInlineGeoJSON_FeatureMerger (ReferenceFactory): GEOJSON writer: Unknown feature type 'GeoJSON' passed to the JSON writer I tried many different solutions, for example:replacing the schemasetter with the new schemascannerchanging the schema definition namechanging the feature type nameI added my workspace with the current test workspace. In what way can I control the behaviour of SqlExecutor concerning transactions. I'd like to perform several inserts and updates as a single transaction (by putting the "commit"-command at the end). But this commit always results in the warning "there is no transaction in progress".Database = PostgreSQL

GDAL has a pretty handy proximity calculator where each pixel in the output raster represents the distance to the nearest pixel in the input raster. For instance, distance to the nearest road. Is there any transformer doing that in FME ? Thanks!

Hi, I have a specific use case to solve. Transform a CSV file to a Turtle file (.ttl).Here is an example:CSV file has: 12345, Fred, 2020-01-01, "Foo, Bar"    I would like to then transform this row to: <http://example.com/12345> rdf:type owl:NamedIndividual ;                 a:name "Fred" ;                 a:date "2020-01-01";                  a:ref "http://example.com/Foo",                             "http://example.com/Bar" .And then repeat for all the lines in the  CSV.Any help appreciated 

Is there a way to truncate a list?  For example if I have a list of 30 items but only want the first 10 to be kept. I know I could manually create the list with an attribute creator using _list{0}, _list{1}, _list{2}, etc but just wanted to see if there is a transform or more automated way to do something like this. Regards Dean

Hi, I am trying to use ReplaceRegularExpression as described here:http://docs.safe.com/fme/html/FME_Desktop_Documentation/FME_Transformers/!Transformer_Parameters/StringFunctions.htmTo do a simple transformation of Quotes to escaped Quotes in strings. I have the following: @ReplaceRegularExpression(@Value(Description),["],"\\\\""",FALSE)(as the instructions say I need to add quotes and escape the quote in the to expression.)This does not work, but at least does not have errors.If I try to slightly change the syntax of the to expression (eg less quotes) I get serious errors... Any ideas welcome...

Hello!I have a set of points representing the location of the tree trunks. I also have a 3D model of a tree that i want to be copied to each of the points locations. And here is the tricky part, I need them to be instanced geometries, so they do not require to much space (and rendering power) when I export to fbx, skp and dwg.I tried to read up on the GeometryInstantiator-node but I must admit, I don't quite follow what it is supposed to do. Is there an example for this availible anywhere or do anyone have a clue?Here is a screendump of my script, but it only manages to place the trees as individual models which creates a 30MB file from copies of a mere 15KB geometry-asset.:Sincerely,Robin Nilsson

Hello there,​I would like to check a dataset attributes. So I would like to write a workspace that can check the incoming dataset. ​For example, I expect to receive a dataset that has attribute name. My expectation dataset attribute name: A, B & CThe incoming dataset attribute name: B, C & D. In this case, I would like to call out attribute A and D. As attribute A is what I expected but missing and D is not the attribute name that I want. May I ask what transformer I should use in this case? Thank you very much. Zachary

hello i would like to RUN my workbench with a batch file, so i copied the first line of the log but when i try it, it just launch FME with the workbench but he doesn't run it. how could i do that ? thanks charles.

This is definitely a "New to FME" question. I'm using FME Desktop, FME(R) 2021.2.3.0 (20220131 - Build 21812 - WIN64). When I select "Check for Updates..." an alert says that I new version of 2021 is available with a link. When I go to that web page, I see that 2022.0 is available. Is there is any reason I would not want to upgrade to 2022.0? When I upgrade to 2022.0, will some of my workspaces and transformers need to change? Thanks.

I have run some stats on a dataset where features fall into a specific polygon and have the count and the category. I now need a list that I can bring together in a single concatenated value that is {count1, cat1, count2, cat2, count3, cat3} The problem is that the number of the categories varies from polygon to polygon. The approach so far is statistics calculator => list builder => list concatenator (using category) => list concatenator (using count) which gives me two lists, comma separated but need to being them together. with the resultDoes anyone have any suggestions on how to bring together?
