Hi All, It's really weird I have taken multiple attempts to clear the fme exam but in my final attempt I am 100% sure I should qualify but unfortunately I am not . I have prepared for the exam after studying all the materials still I have faced the challanges of qualifying the exam. I really don't understand what went wrong. Hi All Currently we are facing some weird issue We have a FME workspace which is running fine in FME Form (2024.2.3 - 64 bit), we have published to FME Flow (2024.2.3) and when we ran the workspace from FME Flow, it started throwing below Ora error (changed ServerName & UserName values to XXX to hide)- “ Error connecting to Oracle database: message was `ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified'. Hi All, I have set up my tool tip to tell me the version number of a particular Transformer in my workbench. Is there a way of relating the version number of a Transformer to the version number of my software? Can I find out which version of the software that a particular Transformer has an upgrade? For any particular software version, is there a list of the version numbers of the Transformers? Thanks, Nick

Hi everyone, I have a question: how can I use FME to create a series of equally spaced points along a 3D polyline provided as input from a DXF file?

I am trying to fill in the rows of my table with the previous values. I saw this thread and I am following the instructions but for some reason I am only getting the first empty row to be filled but not any subsequent rows. I tried to change the Subsequent Features to another value other than 0 and even tried to change the number of Prior Features but I always get the same results. I am on FME Form 2024.2.0.0 if that helps. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

I don’t have an programming background, so please bear with me. I need to find out the circular standard deviation of the rotation attributes from a set of features in degrees. The built in AI in the PythonCaller has taken me as far as the code below. I have tried many different prompts, they use somewhat different methods to do the calculations, but all throw errors about missing methods or incorrect classes. It seems that the AI is unable to initialize the script “The FME way”, or I have not figured out the correct prompt. What do I need to ad to the script in order to get the below working? My desired output is the circular_standard_deviation as a new attribute. I’ve been finding lately that having an AI write code for me and just run it is becoming almost trivial, and as an FME user it’s starting to make me feel pretty obsolete. Of course there are still a tonne of caveats and you still need to be careful, but with the recent rollout of Visual Studio’s “Agent” mode to everyone the reality is fast approaching that it may be easier to create a free python based application to do a specific task than to write a workspace. Understanding these AI tools well is hands down just going to make you much more productive. But this can only be true is you can actually use them in your work which in the FME world it’s so far not so easy. For me one of the main benefits of using FME is that I don’t need to spend time writing code, but now that I can have the AI do much of the work I’m really wondering about the future of FME - Especially to juniors - If someone has to spend time learning FME vs asking an AI to create a python app to do the same why would th

Hello, so we have now switched from Server to Flow and all is good and great except from one bit, and that is there have been made some changes between these versions that have made my emailer workarounds from Server useless. So what we did before is that we just set up the Emailer in the workspaces and sent automatic answers in the ‘Body’ section of the Emailer such as: p>Hello Colleague</p> <p>Here is your GeoJson to DWG/Shapefile datapackage:<a href="$(FME_SERVER_DEST_DIR)">Click me to download</a></p> Where the ‘$(FME_SERVER_DEST_DIR)’ was the download link for the result and it worked very well. But now on Flow it doesnt work, the email sends and all but there is no value being fed into the ‘a href’ so now download hyperlink for the message. What has changed here, is it only the value for the URL and if so what value should I be referring to now to get the result data on flow downloadable? I have a 2023.2.1 workbench that reads in a JSON file using the TextLine reader, does some FME magic and the outputs the results for FME Server (Flow) to use. 2023.2.1 workbench to process JSON The reader parameters are set to read the whole file at once The workbench is published to FME Flow 2023.2.1 and is used in an Automation that gets an AWS SNS message with the JSON info in the message of the SNS. The SNS is received as expected but the message appears to be reading each line as a separate source and as such it never processes the file as expected. Any advice as to what I am doing wrong in the process?

Hi All, How can I add a conditional parameter (visibility) in FME 2022? I know it’s possible for 2023 but can’t find it for 2022. I have created a workflow that allows the user to export data into different formats (E57, CAD, LAS, XYZ) and I want to offer the option to export the data as DWG or DXF if the user picks CAD, some images below: ...then the user only has the ‘Choose the output CAD format’ enable if CAD was chosen in the first parameter. Hello, I am using FME Flow 2021. I have an Automation that uses Directory Watch. When a file is added to the “Directory to Watch,” the Automation should run. But it does not run when a new file is added. I can run it manually, and it works as expected. In my screen capture below, it seems I need to add something to “Events to Watch for” to trigger. What am I missing?

Hi, I am trying to replicate the V-Lookup formulas in FME that I currently have in my excel. Also the current excel formulas refers to a different sheet named Limits and I am looking to create the same sheet in the FME and finally when the writer generates the output the file should have 2 sheets - 1st one where the data is written and the 2nd will be Limits. Writing to the existing template is not an option due to complexities involved

Hi list. I have a local FME Flow development setup using 2024.2.3 Originally all of its 4 services ran as Local System, but the workspaces need to access files on a file share on another server, and so I tried changing the services (except database) to Local Network Service without much success. Our production servers (2022) do run with an AD account, so I have som experience with this approach. I therefore changed the development Flow to run under my AD account. The interface seems to be working ok, but now whenever I try to run a workspace, it errs with “There was an error submitting the job”. Why is this different ? What am I missing here ? Any insight is appriciated. Cheers
