I am creating a process that is going to move 3.5 million records from a SQL server db to a destination. The target can only be interacted with over SOAP. I am using a python caller to make the SOAP call because the HTTPCaller could not handle the challenge authentication method the target enforces. I am batching the rows into groups of 20,000, creating the XML and passing that to the python caller as a single feature per batch. The calls become progressively slower throughout the run of the job. They start out around 4 seconds between batches and after 130 calls the time to process is around 130 seconds.  

I have a large FME desktop workspace that works great. It reads an ArcGIS Online feature service (2 tables), joins the 2 tables, makes many, many changes (new attributes, etc.), then writes to a different ArcGIS Online feature service (1 table). I plan to run this daily with a batch file using the Task Scheduler. The destination table is published to a group of people. My issue/question is that I need 1 to 3 attributes to be reviewed. Usually a few records (out of several hundred) need to be modified. I'm sorry my question is vague. I'm thinking that there may be way to write (publish) a few attributes to a software solution to facilitate approval records after reviewing a few attributes. The few records that aren't approved would be flagged then I would manually make the change in the ArcGIS source. An example would be removing PII such as a person's name.

When I select NTLM the workspace successfully runs on FME Desktop and FME Server with all features read as expected. Hello class!In the attached PDF (in Dutch) I have an example of what I want to do exactly but the example was made with the PostMan program (but I can't follow the same steps in FME). Mainly the part of obtaining the Token (access authorization to the Melvin database). I would like to know how to authenticate Melvin API via FME? Using a RabbitMQConnector in Stream mode to continuously listen for change events. It is set to not Auto Acknowledge messages as we do not want that to happen until confirmation it is written to the database. Was thinking to use a FeatureWriter as it chains outputs after writing. Doing this with Transaction Type of None and it inserts/updates the features in real-time fine. But the output from the FeatureWriter seems to always be blocking. We ideally want to use that output to acknowledge the message in RabbitMQ. Would try a SQLExecutor but also need to write the shape to an ESRI geodatabase. Worst case can probably use a PythonCaller using arcpy. But would be nice to have a persistent connection with an actual writer. Any thoughts on how to do something like this while keeping a data steam going?

Hello I am using FME 2021.2 on an AWS machine and am connecting to an Oracle DB on-prem, but the connection is very slow. I currently have SQL Developer setup on the AWS machine and its connection to Oracle is as expected (fast). Issue:When I test the connection in FME it can take several minutes to recieve the pop-up saying 'successful connection'.I am using TNS and have setup the tnsnames.ora file I dont get any warnings or errors in the log When I use the same file for SQL Developer its response is very fastDoes anyone have any suggestions as to how to speed up that connection?

Hi.I'm exploring the possibility of making request to a secure server using FME.The webservices to be called require that the requests are accompanied by a company or function certificate. It will typically be stored in a certificate repository on the machine.I can make it work manually using HttpCaller with authentication = "Single Sign-On", but this prompts me for a certificate password every time, and the final script needs to run fully autonomously (on an FME Server).Any help is appreciated.Cheers.

Hello all, We are in the process of upgrading our software to 2021 from 2019 and I'm in the middle of UAT. I'm encountering an issue with the scripts that grab data from a Google Cloud Storage bucket using the GoogleCloudStorageConnector transformer. In 2021, when I try to reauthenticate my web connection to GCS I get this popup: I wasn't involved with the script design for the 2019 version (and my colleague who was is on vacation for another week). Hi, We are creating an integration between Smallworld and FME Server. The Smallworld tool will call an FME workspace on our FME Server. The FME Server is hosted internally only and we are using built in authentication.  There is an option in FME Server to create a short lived session token via the api. I've set up a user that only has access to this repository that can be used to generate the token.  There is a second option in the Administrator interface to generate a fixed api token. When is this used? Is it more or less secure? The Smallworld developer notes that if you are using a user name and password to generate the short lived token then the risk is similar:'It seems to me that the API token with restrictions is more secure than username/password. Hi I am trying to merge about 15 sets containing information about green infrastructure in to one singular dissolved, multipart polygon. In ArcGIS I would use the Merge geoprocessing tool to all the the layers into one, select all the features and merge them. Finally I would do a dissolve. In FME I have fed all the input layers into a Dissolve transformer (dropping attibutes), fed the area output port to an aggregator. I am unsure what to do with remnants - I have fed Unused Areas from the remnants port to the Aggregator but not interior lines (I presume these are the dividing lines that have been removed in the dissolve?) - is this correct? Many thanks

It's a simple workflow: connect to AGOL, check for data, copy the new features to a service on internal Portal. But it's tripping me up every which way. I got the basic workflow going nicely, but it fails when I try running it via a batch file through Task Scheduler. Keeps returning an error message that it can't find the service. Same thing happened with Python which is why I'm trying FME now.I'm connecting to Portal using a OAuth2.0 web service connection but it doesn't seem to like working through Scheduler.So I thought I'd try a different authentication (tokens) and found a recently released 'ESRI Portal Token Getter' but there's no documentation to really help.Anyone have any success with it?

I am trying to build an API POST call using HTTPCaller for situations where there will be a dynamic number of parameters using the same name based on an aggregated list. In this instance, I have an attribute value called "fee id" which could have anywhere from 1-20+ items in the list (built using Aggregator) depending on how many charges were processed in a specific transaction. Each item on the list needs to be its own parameter (the values cannot be comma-separated), which is where I'm running into trouble. I can configure HTTPCaller manually to handle this, but that is only in my tests where I know ahead of time how many items will need to be processed.  I have been unable to find a way for FME/HTTPCaller to accommodate dynamically generating a query string parameter for each item in the list.
